Yeah, I got the NES SP on the 2nd. I didn't get any of the games, because then I wouldn't have had money for RCREX and Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

Let's face it, LoZ is the only of these eight games that comes close to the $20 price tag. I got the NES cart of it, AND the Collectors Edition gamecube disc, so I'm not worried about it.

*ahem* They're $20 US. And they seem to be about $25 Canadian to $30 Canadian. Some of you (*cough*Xk*cough*) seem confused.

Duo: *places hand on Forte's head for a moment* Yes, the good remains within him... But without maintenance he will not stay "ok" for long.

Quint: I got this covered. *puts fingers in his mouth and blow, making a loud whistling sound*

A strange robot that seemed to be a mix between a jackhammer and a pogo stick beamed into the room.

Sakugarne: Sakugarne?

Quint: *picks up Forte, and props him onto Sakugarne* Take Forte to the lab and get tell the robots there to repair him.

Sakugarne: Saku! *beams out with Forte*

A compilation would be fine - I mean, toss those 8 games into a $29.99 cartridge and you'd certainly have people lining up to get their hands on one of those. And with the large NES library, they could come out with at least 8 or 9 packs from that era. (If we get the next wave, it includes such games as Mappy, Clu Clu Land, Wrecking Crew, Ghosts & Goblins, Adventure Island, etc.)

You're mostly right, but you've got one tiny bit of information wrong. Mappy was in the first set of ten games. We got all of the first set except for Mappy and Star Soldiers because they didn't see a North American release (on the NES, mind you).

As far as I know, only one of the ten games in the second series hasn't gotten a North American release... But there's also one game that, if Nintendo has any sense left, they won't release over here. I speak of the game they've already given us five identical copies of in the GBA. I speak of Mario Bros.

JDavis turns toward Dartmatt for a second.

JDavis: Dungeon? We're in a cave.

((OOC: I hope you realise, Darkmatt, that (what with this being a Majora's Mask parody and all) throughout this story time is going to be re-wound to the moment we left the clocktower. Meaning your characters are going to have to catch up with us again and again and again and again and again...))

Quint: This is supposed to be the "Hahaha, I'm going to get rid of Megaman by throwing the same obstacles at him that he's proven many times in the past to be able to easily circumvent!" path. Wily usually takes either the elevator, which is basically a booby trap for anyone other than him that tries to use it, or he uses his flying saucer.

First off, wow. Just wow. The only thing I can think of negative to say about this game is that we didn't get the "Navi Trackers" part in the North America release.

That having been said, this game is great. I've only been playing it single player, and it's still great (though I'm sure it's even greater multiplayer, as everyone says).

First, let's mention what makes this game different from the standard Zelda game. There's four Links (One player you control all four, two player each gets two, three player (I think) one person gets two and the others get one, four player each gets one). The game is broken up into eight "levels" (worlds), each of which has three "areas" (levels). Weapons are only held temporarily, and you have only one at a time (AKA if you have the boomerang and you pick up the bows, you put down the boomerang). Rupees are (in a way) replaced by Force Gems. You have no magic meter or arrow or bomb limit. Gameplay moves from the TV screen to the GBA/SP (or to the "GBA Window" on the TV when you play the game one player with a controller instead of a GBA) whenever you enter a house, cave, some dungeon rooms, etc. You start of each "area" with no weapons (well, you've got the sword, but you know what I mean), three (full) heart containers, and no Force Gems.

With those things noted, the game plays like a classic top-down Zelda (namely LttP), with some areas even being in a side-scrolling type style (best example would be Link's Awakening/DX). Some elements of the 3D Zeldas, such as the rolling thing (anyone whose played OoT knows what I'm talking about), work their way in as well. We see more in the way of huge swarms of enemies than ever before, but with four Links, you should be able to handle it .

The story (which I'm not going to go into TOO much detail on because yes, there is a story and yes, there are things that I could spoil) is nice, standard Zelda fair.

The Force Gems need to be gone into in more detail. Like I said before, they in a way replace Rupees. You aren't exactly going to be buying much, but the few places where monetary spending is required (shooting gallery, fortunetellers, and pick-a-chest games) it's the Force Gems that are used. Force Gems are way more plentiful than Rupees ever were, and for good reason. Your group must collect enough Force Gems (2000 in the one player game, probably the same in multiplayer) to restore the Four Sword's ability to vanquish evil. Or, in more relevant terms, to destroy the barrier at the end of the stage (which must be destroyed to end the stage ), and to do a Hurricane Spinning Attack (like in Wind Waker when you spin around a lot and then are dizzy for a second). The Hurricane Spinning Attack doesn't replace the normal Spin Attack, you just charge up a little longer than you would for the normal Spin Attack. Additionally, in multiplayer the best player for the stage is determined by who collects the most Force Gems and defeats the most enemies (and in 3 or 4 player games, you do some voting for who was the most helpful and who was a pain in the rear).

And then there's Shadow Battle, which is pretty well easily summed as you fighting your friends Zelda-style

My vote goes for the birds that fly by and drop an egg filled with a swarm of smaller, and often unavoidable, birds.

Too bad that won't work in the MM Anni. collection.

The enemy to which you are reffering is typically called Yellow Devil (though his American name (for the first game, at least) was Rock Monster). Having appeared in Megaman 1, 3, 5GB, Megaman & Bass, The Power Battle, The Power Fighters, Battle & Chase, Super Adventure Rockman, X5, Megaman Zero, and probably other games I'm not aware that he appeared in... He's deffinatly one of the more recurring enemies of the series.

Time to correct myself, it seems in two and three player games, the remaining Links (blue and purple in 3 player, just purple in 4 player) can be stolen from your fellow player by picking them up.

Basically, Kitten Yiffer, through formations.

Normally you're in what is called the "Break Formation" in which you just control your main Link and the other Links under your control follow you, not taking damage or doing any actions or anything.

The "Wide Formation" and "Long Formation" are pretty well the same thing, with wide being all your Links lined up horizontally, and long being vertically. Here all Links' actions are preformed in unison. Meaning if you tell them to swing the sword, they all swing their sword at once, etc.

In the "Box Formation" the Links form a square, two wide, two long. Again, they're controlled in unison.

The "Cross Formation" has each Link facing a different direction, with their backs facing each other. Again, controlled in unison.

While not technically a formation, there's also "Split Up" which, like it sounds, allow you to control one Link at a time with the ones not being controlled just sort of staying where they are (don't worry, they can't be harmed ). This is good for, say, when there's four buttons in opposite corners of a room that need to all be stood on at once.

The formations are controlled by the L button (or, if you wish, the Y button if you're using the Gamecube controller for 1 player). Hitting L when in the break formation will pause the action and bring up a small sort of window above your head to let you choose Cross, Wide, Long, or Box. Hitting L when in one of these four formations (or when split up) will bring you back to the break formation.

Once you're used to the formations you'll likely wish to use shortcuts for changing formations. Holding L you can press up to go into Box formation, right to go Wide, down Long, and left Cross. Additionally, if using the Gamecube controller (for one player only ) the you can move the C-Stick in the apporpiate direction to change formations.

To go into split up mode, simply hit select (or either X or the d-pad on the Gamecube controller). To switch between Links in this mode, simply hit it again and you will go through the cycle (Green->Blue->Red->Purple->repeat).

May sound like alot, but it's actually quite intuitive.
