How well known were the Ice Climbers before SSBM?

Seriously, so obvious that it's a fan site that it's not even funny. Still, I feel like analyzing their "predictions" Starting on the Character Select page with pics...

Dr. Mario: Was in Melee, should return.

Fludd Mario: I doubt they'd make this a seperate character. Maybe FLUDD as an item. Additionally, they could give Mario the hawaiian shirt and shades as one of his alternate outfits.

Tanooki, Frog, and Hammer Suit Mario: Again, I wouldn't bet on it... Then again, I wouldn't have predicted Dr. Mario appearing in Melee. Still, would be more awesome to see Tanooki and Hammer Suits as items (not Frog, since I doubt we'll see any underwater levels, but you never know..)

Mario and Luigi: Should be returning.

Shadow Mario: As an alternate outfit, perhaps. The paintbrush could be another possible item.

Yoshi: Should return

Boshi: Would be a nice alternate outfit

Captain Syrup: Not very likely, but I suppose it's possible.

Peach and Daisy: Peach should return, Daisy sort of existed as an alternate outfit for Peach in Melee, but I'd like to see her as a separate character this go-around. Maybe a Peach clone with slightly different speed and strength and all that stuff and with some slightly different moves.

Bowser: Should return

Bowser Jr.: I can see it happening, likely in the same manner as Young Link and Pichu.

Koopa: Not likely. Not as a playable character, anyway. Not denying he could return as a background "enemy" like he did in Melee.

Viruses: Maybe not the most likely, but with Dr. Mario about, it's certainly possible

Wart: It could happen.

Birdo: Can see her as a clone of Yoshi with egg-spitting instead of turning people into eggs.

Magikoopa: Kamek would be more likely than just a random Magikoopa. Even then, not the most likely character.

The Kongs: Donkey should return, Diddy could be Donkey's YoungLink/Pichu-type clone, Dixie isn't so likely, but it'd be cool.

K. Rool: Maybe he and Wart could be clones of each other Not likely.

Petey Pirahna: Too much of a stretch.

Toad: Much as I'd like him to be in the game as more than a freaking shield, I somehow doubt it'll happen.

Wario: It would be about time. He should have his Wario Ware outfit as an alternate outfit, and his explorer's hat from the original Wario Land would be awesome as well.

Waluigi: Only if Wario is in it.

Kat and Ana: I'd love to see some Wario Ware characters in the game, and Kat and Ana seem like perfect picks. Possible double-character like the Ice Climbers. Again, would probably hinge on Wario appearing.

Link, Young Link, Zelda, Shiek, and Ganondorf: Should all appear since they were in the last one. What they could do with Link and Young Link that would be cool would be to make Link all Twilight Princess-looking and Young Link all Wind Waker-looking.

Marin: As likely as any of these females, I guess.

Skull Kid: Would certainly be interesting.

Darunia: I see him as a Donkey Kong clone.

Agahnim: If Ganondorf is no longer a Captain Falcon clone (would certainly make me happy), I can see Agahnim as a possible clone.

Tingle: No.

Fierce Diety Link AKA Oni-Link: Maybe. Maybe not as a playable character, but something more along the lines of Giga-Bowser. Fierce Diety Link is one tall guy, so he could be just giant Link.

Dark Link: As an alternate outfit, I'd say.

Samus: Will reappear

Ridley: It's possible.

Kirby: Will reappear

King Dedede: It's possible.

Lolo and Lala AKA Lololo and Lalala AKA Fololo and Falala: Another possible double team. HAL needs to make up their minds on what to call them first.

Metaknight: Hells. Yes.

Rick: He's never really done much without Kirby. I'd put more money on Gooey appearing.

Fox and Falco: They. Will. Appear.

Krystal: ... Again, it's possible.

All these freaking Pokemon: Jeebus. Okay... Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Pichu, and Mewtwo should return. They might throw in another one as playable, but seriously, that's enough playable Pokemon already.

Team Rocket: I wish.

Captain Falcon: Do I even need to comment on these that were in Melee?

These other three F-Zero racers: Anything's possible. Maybe one of them can be a Falcon clone to replace Ganondorf as such if they make Ganondorf into not-a-Falcon-clone.

Earthbound Kids: Ness for sure, the others are possible.

All these Fire Emblem and Golden Sun and such characters: Marth and Roy will be in because they were in Melee. I'd think that's enough of that.

Akari: No idea why she was singled out... I wouldn't say it's likely and I wouldn't say it would be a good idea.

Lip: Certainly possible, especially since her stick was a weapon in Melee.

Bubbles: Much as I love Cluclu Land (and I do), I can't see how Bubbles would be an effective fighter.

The dog: No. As much as we'd all love to beat him up... no.

Pit: He's a fan favorite, and since they're finally making a new Kid Icarus game for the Revolution, I'd say his likeliness of appearing just went way up.

Stanley: What's he gonna do, spray bug spray at you? Oh, that's right, Mr. Game and Watch already has that move! Sorry, Stanley.

Ice Climbers: juhlgjadhgkljdghsljnasdlgjnsaljgnlsjdnbsdbkdagkbg (translation: I'm tired of typing that character will reappear)

Captain Olimar: Unless he brings the Pikmin with him, I don't see what he'd do.

Balloon Fighter: Would be interesting.

Excite Biker and Mach Rider: Not both, for sure. Mach Rider can shoot, so he has an advantage over just-riding Excite Bike guy. Both had figurines in Melee (most on this list did), Mach Rider also had his music in the game as an alternate for the Big Blue stage. I wouldn't say either is likely, but Mach Rider certainly has the advantage.

[Insert sport] guy and Lark: No.

Mr. Game and Watch: juhlgjadhgkljdghsljnasdlgjnsaljgnlsjdnbsdbkdagkbg

Mike, Ayumi, and Wanda: Not much chance.

Sheriff: As the star of one of Nintendo's earliest arcade games, he has about as much chance as Mr. Game and Watch had.

Edit: I might analyze some of the other stuff later, for now, that's enough

Wait just a second, there. Metaknight is not Lololo. He does look a bit like him, but his face is completely different, more like Kirby's. 'sides, Metaknight doesn't have a tail.

I'm on my second pair of black Converse All*Stars (low tops), with three blue pair before that.

... And I seriously need a digital camera so I can take pictures of random things and call it art. (Not being negative about this photo, by the way, I took a similar photo of my own shoe when I got a chance to try out the school's digital camera many many months ago (a year, maybe), trying to be all artistic and nobody got it =/ )

Edit: (And then it doesn't matter anyway because he's banned )

DS could work, sure, but then you have to buy a DS for it. And if they do use it (maybe as an option?) I damn well hope they do a better job with button mappings this time. Playing GB games on Super Game Boy was nice because X=B and B=A which worked perfectly... Playing GBA games on DS is a pain because A=A and B=B, which is akward. Since it uses the same button layout as SNES it would have made sense to use the same mappings.

Better yet, make it have something similar to a PC's BIOS or OS. Then you could remap them however the hell you wanted, and the program would do the mappings appropriately before the game got the chance to query the buttons.

I kinda see what you're getting at, but at the same time I don't agree. First off, it was Y, not X. That doesn't really have anything to do with it, but it had to be said. Now, with the SNES and Super Gameboy the issue was mostly an issue of the size of the buttons, their distance from each other, and how close they were to the edge of the controller that made using the B=B and A=A scheme (which WAS still available as an option, mind you) uncomfortable. I just grabbed my DS and tried out how it would be like with a Y=B B =A scheme, and it was fairly awkward. Unlike the SNES controllers' buttons, the DS buttons are tiny and close together. With the SNES the tip of one's thumb (or at least somewhere around the center of its end phalange) rests on Y while the joint of the thumb bends to press or not press B. The only time B and A have been handled in this manner was on the N64 controller. Normally B and A are placed horizontally (NES) or diagonally in a down-left/up-right manner (GB, GBP, VB GBC, GBA, GBASP, SNES, GC, NDS, etc.) with B to the left of A and one's thumb resting between them and moving to one direction or the other to press either one (or pressing down in the middle to hit both at once). This was a little awkward on the SNES controller because the angle B and A were placed at wasn't quite a natural-feeling one at the distance they were placed (at least not without having your hand hanging out in the air barely holding on to the controller). The DS doesn't have the squashed-diamond shape layout for the buttons, more of a tilted box or cross (partly because they intended the buttons to be usable as a secondary D-Pad for left-handed people who needed their left hand for stylus-usage). Y and B are too close together to be used in quite the manner of the SNES's Y and B or the N64's B and A. However, it's B and A work just fine under the standard method of B and A usage that's been in place for decades.

Would an option to switch GBA's B to Y and A to B be nice? Yes, I think it would. Do I think it would be a more comfortable control scheme? No. Not unless you have very, very tiny thumbs (like a baby).

Posted on 06-12-05 12:16 AM, in Do you think "air conditioning" just means cold air? Link
While I'm well aware that air conditioning can be used to either cool or heat the air, I find that most people (around here, anyway) do refer to the cooling of air as "air conditioning" as cooling. Heck, they say "turn on the heater" when they mean "turn the air conditioner's heating function on"

That, or they say "air" (turn the air on) or "heat" (turn the heat on) to refer to cold air and hot air.

But that's just the majority of people here, not everyone. And, as I've said, I live in Oklahoma... Bunch of idiots for the most part in my experience.

My two cents: The pegs should be larger you're missing a few pegs (red ones on the left, all of them on the right), and green legos aren't that bright. They're a darker green. And they aren't really as comon as the other colors present.
