| Flashback, roughly one half-hour ago... It was a nice day outside, and the newly married couple Jack and Haruko decided to take baby Fem out for a stroll. When passing by Kirby's house, what should they see but the humanoid Popstarian dancing about like a loonatic with an expresion of extreme glee on his face. Jack:  Haruko: Hey Kirb! Kirby: Schala! Treasure hunt! Schala! Treasure! Schala, Schala, Schala!! Jack: *walking up to Kirby* Schala? Treasure? What's this all about? Kirby: *hands Jack the letter and map and keeps dancing* Jack: Interesting... This map... It's in Fungerian. Kirby: *stops* Hm? Jack: Well, it looks like Fungerian... But it's using an odd dialect that I've never seen before. Rogueport's not far from Fungeria... And I've certainly heard the tails of treasure there. Haruko: Well, honey, why don't you go help Kirb with his treasure hunt? Jacks: Are you sure you'll be fine taking care of Fem by yourself? Haruko: I'll manage  --------------- Current time, Rogueport. Jack: *lands next to Kirby* Ah, Rogueport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. |

| Jack: Yeah... and is that Fem in the middle of them?! ----- Jack's daughter from the future, Fem, is surrounded by a group of Gim-like robots calling themselves X-Nauts. X-Naut 1: You will tell us everything you know about the Crystal Stars! Fem: Think again, cyclop. Fem kicks the X-Naut, knocking it backwards into a couple other X-Nauts. |

| Suddenly, a large figure garbed in a similar fashion to the "X-Naut" Gims stepped toward Fem. However, he was larger and more human-like than them... Though he was infact a reploid. Lord Crump: You WILL tell us what we want to know... *pulls out a large revolver, pointing it at Fem* ...or your opportunity to do so will expire. Fem: *YAAAWN* Jack: Heya! Jack leaps in from the side, kicking the revolver out of Crumps hand. Fem: ... Jack? What are you doing here? Jack: Long story, short time. |

| As the X-Nauts piled on top of Jack, he sort of leaned over, and the camera shifts to under him, looking up at his face, and also somewhat focusing on the random X-Naut that was on him looking over his shoulder. Random X-Naut: It is inevitable... Suddenly, Jack stands up, spreading out his wings so as to fling all of the X-Nauts off of him. However, he has a hold of the one that was peering over his shoulder and spins him around a couple times before throwing him into several others. The X-Nauts move to attack at him again, but he flies straight up in the air before they get a chance to. ((Sorry, couldn't resist a Matrix Reloaded moment)) |

| Jack and Fem enter the Inn, having gotten separated from Kirby during the fight with the X-Nauts. Jack: Hey, Kirby, there you are. It turns out that Professor Gyromite has been staying here in Rogueport since fairly shortly after he came to Earth with us from Popstar. Fem recently came to Rogueport to help him with his archeological-type stuff. Fem: We've been studying the legend of the treasure that supposedly lies somewhere under the city. |

| Fem: This way. Fem lead the group to a section of town east of the inn, and into one of the bland (and small) houses there. Inside, the walls were pretty well covered with bookshelves, all full. Near the door stood a desk, with all manner of books and papers with scribbled notes atop it, as well as a name plaque reading "Professor Hector Gyromite". Behind the desk sat a balding white-haired man with a mustache, wearing a labcoat. Gyromite: Ah, Fem, there you are! I was getting worried. Fem: Hey, Professor. You're never going to guess who I ran into. Jack: Hello. Gyromite: Hey! Jack! How are things? Jack: Things are good. Gyromite: You treating my daughter all right? Jack: Of course. Fem: And you remember Kirby Nite. Gyromite: Yes. He's a bit taller than the last time we met.  Fem: Apparently, he received a box from his.. "friend", Schala, containing a treasure map. Now, you know more about this stuff than I do, but it LOOKS to me like it's the Magical Map of legend. Gyromite: WHAT??? Well don't just stand there, boy, bring it over here and let me have a look! |

| Professor Gyromite hadn't heard a single thing Kirby or anyone else had said. He was too busy looking at the map. Gyromite: Yes! This is it! Quickly! To the Thousand Year Door! Gyromite ran past everyone, out the door, and jumped into a nearby pipe. |

| As Kirby heads into the room, he finds Professor Gyromite inspecting a black chest. Gyromite: There you are! What's been keeping you? I had specifically placed a crate in that other room where I could climb up it to get to the Thousand-Year Door, but someone's taken off with it. I climbed the stairs to see if I could see another method of getting up to the ledge, but saw the door to this room and couldn't resist having a peek inside. ---------- Meanwhile... Jack and Fem pop out the warp pipe in the room most of everyone else is. Fem had been explaining what was known about the Thousand Year Door to her father. Jack: -And you need them to get the door to open? Fem: Exactly. Jack looks up and sees the module-ified Melvinmobile, then down at Melvin and Smithy themselves. Jack: Hey, Gurio Saki, New York's thataway. *points west* |

| Not that I'm getting any use out of that gift at present (and with my luck, won't for a long time). As far as material presents go, I've got a new keyboard (my old one was kinda gucky, the spacebar was broke, and one of the two legs that prop it up was broke), a new CD player (my old one's mp3 support wasn't worth CRAP), and $60 (which will be going towards a Nintendo DS). |
