I finished the first world in my ROM hack, and it ends with a castle level called #1 Igor's Castle. After you beat Comrade Igor, you return to the overworld. The music that is played in the overworld, however, does not play after the castle is completed. It plays after the other levels are completed, but silence follows the completion of the castle level. How do I have the music keep playing following completion of the castle level?

I understand the format of the 4bpp SNES except for one thing: Which byte is the highest?

It is arranged like this for each row:

bp0, bp1 ...
bp2, bp3

For row one you use bytes 0, 1, 10, and 11. For row two you use bytes 2, 3, 12, and 13. My question is, What is the order of bytes from highest to lowest?

I have to get this off my chest. Tia I think wins hands down. Here's why: She is very agile. Equip her with a horse rock and another power accessory--I don't remember it's name--and she'll kick some ass. Her strength'll be near Maxim's, and she'll always get that first hit in. Her magic's decent too. Plus, she's a bit funny. I think it sucks that she was taken out of the game near the beginning in favor of Selan. Selan's strength is about the same as Tia's, and though her magic's a little better than Tia's, she is very slow. So slow, in fact, she's the last to go in battle, after the others and the enemies. (I noticed the loss immediately when Tia was taken out of my party and the relative uselessness of Selan.) Depite that, Selan is depicted as some superwoman in the story, while the much more capable Tia is depicted as an incompetent airhead who always runs off doing stupid shit. What is up with that?

In the Desert Pyramid, what are some hints to the answer to the puzzle of the key? I suspect that it is a level with 2 goals (the secret one probably leads to the Yellow Switch Palace), and I searched every nook and cranny under that assumption. I have come up with nothing. On the downward level just before Reznor, I see a key in a room to the right of me, but I see no way into it. I tried at the pipe to go above the stage, but I couldn't see what I was doing up there, and at certain points I couldn't even jump. Does anyone know? I'll continue finding, but I hope I can get some hints. (Don't give me the answer, I want to find it on my own.)

Thank you for the hint. It was all that I needed. It allowed me to conclude the only locations where I could congregate the two P-switches, and from there I could find the rest.

Yes, except that Woosley had nothing whatsoever to do with the translation of FFIV. As I recall, it wasn't until FFVI (Or III, or whatever) that his reign of terror began in the US.

My personal favorite mistranslated bit in FFIV is when the gang are in the Baron bar, and the person speaking implies that Anna and Edward are about to inbreed (Tellah, as you may know, is Anna's father, and Anna and Edward are lovers. The character says that Tellah's EDWARD'S father for some reason).

Golbez's scolding of Kain, "You only have to watch this girl!" is kinda neat too...it makes it almost sounds like he's complaining, "Here I am, the evil overlord, day in and day out, doing all these mundane tasks...and all you have to do with watch this girl!" Or something like that.
[/quote]

How would you fare if given a novel, in which the end of the world happens, to translate but had severe space constraints and couldn't use words like "death" or "suicide (despite an attempt of such in it)"? Nintendo put the choke hold on Woolsey. Judging from what he had to work with, I thought he did pretty well.

I thought Woolsey was the translator for FFIV. Who did the translation then? I'm too lazy to go find out for myself.

Back on July 22, 2003, we in Memphis had the most powerful storm in the city's history:

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/meg/radarLoop.htm

It blew through at 6 in the morning with sustained winds of up to 100 mph, broke power poles like chopsticks, caused large trees to uproot and fall (one right into a house a couple blocks from where I live), and caused the ground everywhere to be cluttered with debris. I remember reading later that on Germantown Rd (one of the main thouroughways in Cordova) a large tree fell, effectively making it a one-lane road. That was when rush hour was getting started up. The storm maintained its very strong winds for about half-an-hour. We were out of power for a day-and-a-half, but for some areas it was weeks before power was restored. Despite all the county-wide destruction that took place, it received little attention in the news media.

The storm woke me up, and I remember noticing the power off. I looked outside, and it looked like a hurricane was blowing through. The trees were nearly sideways, water was swishing across the street, and I noticed a very greenish tint in the sky. I walked downstairs, turned on my NOAA weather radio, and noticed that the alert was on. I remembered that on the night before the weather report said it was only expecting a slight chance of thunderstorms. O_o

It was interesting. I think severe weather's cool and exciting. Anything but sunny skies.

This may sound outrageous to some, but the best way I think to get the average Joe into space is this:

Lower taxes by 99% (the average American has to work till about the 4th of July to pay off all his taxes).

Abolish the welfare-warfare state.

Abolish NASA.

Now that you've removed the burden, private enterprise can flourish. Unless one thinks that such activity ought to be banned, we should sit back and see what private investment does and how the market reacts. The problem with NASA is that it scoops up resources for space into a politicized bureaucracy that gives out its contracts to companies that hire its former employees. Private enterprise is so much better at allocating resources for various things, because it receives a constant feedback from the market.

Yes, indeed, the average American has to work until the July 4th to pay off all his taxes for the year:

http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2004/tst070504.htm

Don't you think that would make private development of space more difficult?

Anyway, another problem of NASA is that it came out in an age when government was perceived as the solution to life's problems (1930's-70s). Unlike in aviation, there was little private development in space, because of that public perception. As we saw on June 21, the private capability is there. We in fact saw it much improved over the government, considering it took Scaled Composites less than a tenth of the cost per launch for the space shuttle to build the entire SpaceShipOne. I think the public expectation that space is a matter of government policy could change in the near future.

The space industry will initially develop as contests and thrill flights into sub-orbital space. As we get more launches per year, the cost of that will go down, and businesses will start aiming for the orbital area of space, and that is when things'll get interesting.

I thought it WAS Woolsey. I have the original SNES game to the point of the final boss, but I'm too lazy to actually go and beat him at the moment. (I've beaten the final boss many times before.) It's just that the ending thing takes too long for me right now. Perhaps you have other access to the credits?

Go to this link:

http://www.zophar.net/nsf/

Download Final Fantasy 2, and if you don't have one get an NSF player--I prefer the WINAMP plug-in. Now open the NSF file. Go to track 28 and play the song there. That is not a composition by Nobuo Uematsu. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that is a song by Strauss, a 19th century composer. Did it appear in the actual game--for I haven't beat it yet--or was it hacked in by this necrosaro guy? I'm interested in finding out!

For some reason, I have a thing for Leena. In fact, I started a new game, and I put her as the leader of my party. I just fought Lynx at the manor (the shadow Lynx). Just you guys watch, I'm going to make Leena an uber-character. She'll be whooping ass!

Right now, I'm into Chrono music, but that changes every week or so. I also like the music from Final Fantasy, Lufia (I especially, much better than II's!), Zelda, Mario, Secret of Mana (the piano at the beginning (before the main sequence) of "Hidden Continent" espeically!), Commander and Conquer: Red Alert I and II (Hell March! I love the stomping of the feet and the guy yelling a command!), and various other games.

Adamant,

It depends whether you played the hard-type or the easy-type. There were two versions of FF4 released in Japan, while only the easy-type was originally released in the U.S. as FF2. I played through the hard-type, and I was alarmed by its challenge! It took me forever to be able to beat Golbez and his Shadow Dragon in the Dwarfs' Palace!

With regards to Chrono Cross, I like "Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World" the best. It's the overworld map theme when your in Another World. It starts off with the choir and the base. The nylon guitar does its little ditties, using mainly inverted broken D minor chords. Then the violin comes in and plays a relaxing melody. The melody has a couple broken D minor tonic chords in it, which and the previous confirms the song is in D minor, and it is so beautiful and relaxing. Here are the notes to the main melody:

Note: C-5 = Middle C
Note: C-4 = C below Middle C
Note: 4/4
Note: B is flat.

D-5 half
D-6 half
F-5 dotted half
D-5 eighth
F-5 eighth
A-5 half tied to eighth
B-5 quarter *remember to flatten it to fit the key*
A-5 eighth
G-5 dotted half
F-5 eighth
E-5 eighth

D-5 half
F-5 dotted quarter tied to sixteenth
E-5 thirty-second
F-5 thirty-second
E-5 half
C-5 dotted quarter
A-4 eighth
C-5 eighth
D-5 eighth
D-5 dotted half tied to whole
quarter rest
D-5 quarter
F-5 dotted quarter tied to sixteenth
E-5 thirty-second
F-5 thirty-second
E-5 half
G-5 half tied to quarter
G-5 quarter
D-5 dotted quarter
E-5 sixteenth
F-5 sixteenth
E-5 whole tied to whole

And that's it!

Kagura is my favorite character. That is yours too, Hiryuu? I remember playing that game a few months ago. It is hard to get a hang of. Since when did Kagura get to use Kikyo?
