Posted on 03-30-04 12:17 AM, in The Jester vs. Supa Dreamlander Link
A loud crackle startled Supa Dreamlander, causing him to hop into the air. He landed ontop of a wooden plank, which was situated on rock. At the other side of the plank was a plastic spork.

The unusual plastic eating utensil was launched into the air, flying right past the Dreamlander, almost skimming his face. The now mobile spork continued to soar through the air. It continued to fly until it lodged itself into a tree. With the force of the spork, a hornet's nest was knocked off a tree branch, and landed next to the Jester.

Supa Dreamlander: Wow... It would've been pretty bad if it actually made contact... Err.. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not that character. Though.. It'd be kinda cool to have a rogue-like reptuation.. But I'm not here for being cool. I'm here for being a hero. *nod nod* And time for my hero-like disapperance.

Kirbynite: ... My... crops!!!

Chuchu: Oh no... He saw it...

The Dreamlander's view was no longer blocked. He finally saw the damage that was laid out upon his crops. Slowly, Kirbynite stepped towards his unfortunate gardens. He looked to the side and saw a familar green plant.

Kirbynite: I wasn't growing this... Hey! It's Sprouty! *walks over and shakes Sprout* So, ya wanna be a pirate, too, matey?

((I hope JDavis won't mind this...))

Ninja Pirate Man: Yarr... I believe that be mine, ya electrical bilgerat!

Kirbynite: Zex! No!

Ninja Pirate Man, with his ninja-like skills, vanished from sight. He reappeared every so often, getting closer and closer to the Gold Coin.

After a blinding flash, both Zex and Ninja Pirate Man were seen gripping the coin.

Kirbynite: ... Great.. So much for that...

Ninja Pirate Man: Hand over this piece o' gold before I make ya walk the plank!

Kirbynite: Hopefully Zex can do still fight like that..

Supa Dreamlander swung his rod into the air, attempting to block the boomerang. Unfortunately, the boomerang recoiled off the rod and dropped several explosives onto the red and green hero.

Despite having the helmet taking the brunt of the explosions, the Dreamlander was knocked off the plank. Unlike a Buzzy Beetle, he managed to roll onto his feet after landing upside down on the pavement.

"I don't want to do this.. but.. I might have to knock him around before I can get out of here..."

Supa Dreamlander put his rod away, and dove for the plank. After rolling to his feet, he kicked up the rock into the air. With no hesitation, the helmeted hero swung at the rock, smacking it towards the Jester.

Supa Dreamlander: Sorry!

He quickly drops the plank and tries to dash away.

Supa Dreamlander: Oooh.. shurikens!

The shining shimmer of the ninja stars caught the Dreamlander's attention as some fell onto the ground after cutting through the rope. The green hero hopped to the side, and bent over. The piano completely missed him.

Supa Dreamlander: Gack!

However, it did catch his cape. The red cape was pulled down, snapping Supa Dreamlander into the air, and right onto the piano. He was now in a confused state, and an awkward position.

Ninja Pirate Man: *gives Zerodius an awkward look* Pilfering seamonkies! Did ye think ye can upload a Cucco virus on me?

The robot master took out a long blade, and slashed at Zex, with quick ninja speed. The attack knocked Zex off. Ninja Pirate Man began to give out a hardy laugh. He laughed until an object was impaled through its chest plate.

Kirbynite: Ack! I didn't mean to do that....

Kirbynite had chucked his Star Rod at the distracted robot. Ninja Pirate Man lost its grip on the coin, and collapsed onto the ground. A substance that resembled oil leaked out of the body, creating a puddle on the floor.

Kirbynite: ... Atleast that did the trick...

Well, there was usually something different with every tournament. This one is kinda different, and it'd be a nice way to pull off some nice looking battles.

And judges are only around for judging battles. No actual refereeing is done.. since.. well.. we never had any problems in any of the tournaments.

As a side note, I prefer to be a fighter.

I remember, long ago, me, Sion, his bro, and his friend were looking through a magazine. In it, we saw a picture of a game Square was making involving Disney characters. I thought it was gonna be a stupid game.

Years later, the game finally came out, and a few months.. maybe a year later, I finally played the game, and I was completely shocked. I loved the battle system, and I really enjoyed the story. (I was also shocked to see such a dark tone in a story involving Disney characters)

So.. I guess it goes without saying that I can't wait for the second game..

And about the difficulty.. It was hard in the beginning.. For most people, you have to get readjusted to a new game, even though you're pretty good at games. However, as you got more and more items and such, things kinda change. You have more control, and you become more powerful. Having those MP Haste abilities kinda aided in making things easier, but at the same time, it made the game more fun for me.. so I don't mind that....

I am glad to say that I can defeat Sephy without too much trouble. I don't need any items at all. Just hand me my keyblade, some MP Hastes, Aeroga, Curaga, and Sonic Blade/Strike Raid, and I'm all set.

One thing that disappointed me was defeating the final boss. I expected more than a Kefka-like finale. It reminded me of beating Final Fantasy 6, where I defeated the final boss with one attack...

Kirbynite, after thanking for Zex's retrieval of the Star Rod, continously swung his weapon while he ran into the flood of robot roadblocks. Kirby figured out his weapon was capable of deflecting shots, and took advantage of it.

A feeling of joy slipped out onto his face as he slid through a small line of tiny yellow-helmetted robots. Several of the robots fell down a nearby gap.

Metool: Aiiieee!

Smacking the metallic flooring with the Star Rod, Kirbynite vaulted across a bed of spikes. At the end of his jump, he remained stationery and looked ahead.

Kirbynite: Guys! I see another door up ahead!

lolz dude thats so cool i luv how you make fun of peeps who take things too serious man

That is about the first and only time someone will see me mocking a stereotype.

Seriously, though, I'm gonna have to close this thread. I'm sure you won't mind making another thread, Clockworkz.

Alucard, consider this a warning. This may be the internet, but that doesn't mean that there can't be any places where there's some serious-y-ness.

Alucard, if you want to take part in a battle, then try to abide by some logical role playing rules, such as not deciding whether or not your opponent takes any damage.

If you want to just screw around, then please do so in another forum.

*eyes Clockworkz* I think you need to start putting a bit more description into your posts. Everyone else seems to be doing fine.

Edit 04-17-04 04:14 AM: NEW TO THE SIM-BATTLE ARENA AND/OR THE BOARD AND/OR MESSAGE BOARDS IN GENERAL? READ HERE

Howdy fellow Acmlm's Board members. This place has been devoid of a FAQ for the longest time.. so I thought I'd finally make one. Most of these rules should be common sense. However, there are some people who have different views of what common sense is, so this should help clarify what's fair for all.

The first rule of the Sim-Battle is to don't talk about Sim-Batt-- erm.. no.. wait..

1a. Don't be cheap. You shouldn't ignore the actions of others. If you're gonna dodge or block something, you had better have a good reason for doing so. And its rare for a good reason ever appearing.

1b. Don't be cheap. Others decide whether they are damaged or not. It's not exactly fair to go and kill someone, and it's even less fair if you post a message saying the opponent was hurt or something when the opponent never actually posted that it actually occured.

2. Damage and Stuff. No health recovery! It's understandable to use a healing move to close up your wounds, or to remove a poison, but not to use a healing move to heal your HP, health, stamina or whatever you want to call it.

3. Roleplaying. A slight amendment to the first rule. There may be times where one needs to slightly control the opponent's movement (not what they're saying/thinking/etc). On most ocassions, this is done for grabbing and throwing. It may be slightly ok for this to be done, but there must be a good reason for it. The reason is mostly for someone walking into a trap, or just flat out "asking" for it. Just try not to make your opponent look like a weakling.

4. Interference. This is quite flexible, actually. By default, there's only going to be one side versus another side. If spectators are allowed (by default), there can be people just watching the fight. Unless it's been mentioned at the beginning, there can't be any interference from other people. However, a way to get interference is to have one of the fighters attack or use the spectators in someway.

5. Saiya-jin-y-ness. NO TELEPORTATION! I think that speaks for itself.

If there are any questions, feel free to ask.

Edit 04-08-04 06:27 PM : If I see anyone that's just flat out causing trouble, I will delete those posts. If you see someone causing trouble, please PM me about it.

Edit 09-22-04 01:47 PM : Forgot to mention Teddylot's entry there... Take a look at it by clicking on this text.

Well, first off.. I really don't think we should be killing anyone here K.O.ing is good, but killing? Where's the challenge in that? Besides, it's your choice to be killed. And if you come back to life, that's considered healing... Like I said.. it's your choice to die. And it won't be cheating if you refuse to die

It's rare for the battle to be not over when someone has died or got knocked out or something.

About the teleportation... As long as there's two gates (One side and the other) and ANYTHING and ANYONE can pass through, it should be alright.
