| I played it. I didn't really think too much of it, it was a little too hokey for my taste. Janus leaps into the air and over Jarukoth's slash, frontflipping several times and bringing his hammer into form! He comes down hard onto the arena's concrete, and the two fighters face away from each other. The arena hadn't changed its scenery yet, but Janus knew it'd be soon. To what, of course, he had no idea. He decided to stall... "So, how strong are you? Really?" --------------------- From the booth, Team Grey checks the opening move intently... Red: "Impressive. Jarukoth's pretty fast, just like I remember." Blue: "His speed is considerable, but Janus is faster. My only real concern is with physical strength. It appears as though that is where our friend falters the most." Red: "Even so, Janus has this one in the bag if he keeps his focus." With all this posturing, it's almost as though Red is trying to provoke someone... (restricted) |

If it weren't Hogwarts, someone would probably have been surprised to see a grown man in the first-year's dorm. In any case, Janus was getting into his nightclothes when Popodey and Billy entered. They were very well-received. "That thing with the eyes, you can do it too? I can only make mine glow blue..." Satchel (telepathy): "You dumbass! Wrong kind of magic!" Janus looked at the bag for a second, recognizing his folly... Janus: "Erm, anyway, thanks for getting that Malfoy fellow away from me. He's not exactly top-tier material, that's for sure. I'd hate to..." And again, the Sorting Hat... "...to...ah, hell, he's a dick. I'm going to bed. Damn blond-haired piece of trash... If he's any indication of what the rest of the student body is like, I'm gonna go on a cursing spree, or something." Janus climbed into his four-poster, and dropped off to sleep almost instantly.

Naturally, though he's fast, Janus isn't nearly fast enough to deal with an attack of that magnitude. All 64 hits get him completely, and after the strike connects, he is thrown backward a few feet. Those soft blows certainly didn't LOOK like they hurt, but Janus knows full well his organs are bleeding... It'll take a few moments for him to regenerate. |
Janus: "It'll take more than a few slaps to-- augh!" As he speaks, he coughs up a bit of blood, and it falls to the concrete. Just as the steaming red matter hits the cement, the arena makes its first change! The kneeling Janus is whipped away from Jarukoth by the receding arena floor, and as the cement is replaced by soft earth and rock, the two fighters are sent to opposite ends of the stadium! "I.... I don't know much about Shinobi, but I think if you keep up the tricks like that, I'll learn pretty quickly." He drops Satchel for a moment, places his hands together, and archaic symbols begin to glow from the ground around him, making a clock-like pattern on the ground. Time Magic. "Haste!!!" As Janus' bodily functions sped up and his organs slowly began to return to normal, he shook his head. This was NOT going to be easy. ----------------------- Red: "Hey!" Shino's spit take, of course, resulted in Red's suit getting extremely wet. He didn't exactly enjoy having someone less than a third of his size mocking him, and his temper began to heat up a bit. "What the hell's up with that? You wanna spit on me again? I dare you..." Red's certainly had a bad day, thus far...

UGrey, positioned conveniently behind Schwa, taps him on the shoulder and begins to whisper in his ear... "If you really wanted to know what I was, you could have just asked..." A quick roll to the side, and Janus would have been back on his feet, Satchel in his hands. It didn't really work that way. |
Instead, he suffered a rather cutting blow to his shoulder, and came out of it backflipping, only to leap forward and over Odin's head to where Satchel was. He scooped up the bag with his good arm, and tested his bad one. Wounded, but not useless... Facing Odin, a shriek of lightning erupted around Janus' body, and moved into his hammer, charging it up! "Take this! Thunder Raid!!!" Drawing a rather basic technique from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Janus hurled his hammer, packed to the brim with electricity, at Odin's precarious balancing act!

And Janus takes to the air again... |
Janus: "Not necessarily low defense..." The beam hits the ground, and the force of the debris propels Janus into the air! With a motion of his wrist, Satchel zooms back to his hand, and Janus moves above Odin, the downward section of his parabolic flight path taking him directly above Odin. The advantage? He can slam his hammer right down at Odin as he lands...

The intense speed upgrade Haste gave allowed Janus to spin himself into a tempest of his own, whirling much faster than his normal tornadoes... "Cyclone!!!" The dizzying attack, intended to blow the sword jutsu away, quickly grew from a localized windstorm to a full-out hurricane, as the Haste-powered Janus spun faster and faster, kicking up various bits of earth and rock and scattering flying pieces of debris everywhere. What he'll do with this, he's really got no clue, but the effect of reasonably large rocks flying in random directions is still pretty large. ------------------ Meanwhile, Red seems to be calming down just a little bit. Blue: "Relax, Evan. Remember, we are here to spectate, not to fight." Grey: "Yeah, and besides, it'd just be overkill anyway." Red closed his eyes and engaged in a few relaxation exercises. John was right. Breathe in. No place to fight. Breathe out. But that damn Nameless NPC... He couldn't help but remember her empty, smiling face and soulless, shining eyes. It made him so angry! But it sure was nice of Ada... She wasn't all that bad. It was sweet of her, he thought. Thinking like that calmed him down. Maybe he'd... Well, nah. Different scenario. But that damn NNPC! The thought just kept coming back into his head, and now that Shino guy had to spit on him... Control. Control was the key. All good leaders can keep control. Control yourself, you control the situation. But Red was really itching to get some of his agression out...

He motions across the room to the band of warriors that have assembled. "But then, to me, you don't exist either. It's really just basic existential philosophy. You can see me, and I certainly occupy space, do I not?" But a quick pan of the camera reveals User Grey standing beside Schwa. He only appears there, though, after his seat has been brought out of view. "But I can do things that most beings that exist could never come close to doing. I can break the laws of your world, while still being restrained by the laws of my own. Theoretically, if you were to come into my world, you'd probably be able to do many of the things I can do here, while I'd be nothing more than an average person there." The camera pans around Schwa's body, and User Grey is gone, returned to his seat without any inkling of motion. "Don't worry about me. I only appear when it's necessary anyway. I'm a bit like a guardian angel." He looks about to snap his fingers and disappear, but before he does, he suddenly remembers something. "Ah, and godmoding? It's pretty much making yourself godlike, indestructible, unstoppable, or indefatigable. In short, it's doing what I can do without being allowed to do it by the laws that govern your world. That said, I'm out of here. Call me when you need me." He resumes his finger-snap, and the usual explosion sends him back to his office...
