Doesn't Powell get any redemption at all for being one of the first to jump ship during the second term?

Though, actually, it would probably be more likely that he was "persuaded" to resign. In any case, he was a voice of reason among the madness. I hate to say it, but I liked Colleen Powell. I'd gladly take him as our first black president if he ever had the guts to run.

Well, apathy comes with pretty much every historical condition...

People are apathetic to the deaths of John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln nowadays, accepting them as nothing more than a part of history. Most people don't even know who James A. Garfield is. And what about all the people who died in the rise and fall of the Roman Empire?

Ziff, I'm afraid of facism reemerging too, but you can't get alarmed by apathy toward the holocaust among a percentage of the population. Your children's children's children will more than likely be filled to the brim with apathy toward it. There is no avoiding it, at all, in any way whatsoever.

That doesn't mean you can't hate people for being apathetic towards something we still have veterans and survivors of around now, but when all of those people die off, that's just more people contributing to the end of the pain and sadness. Suffice it to say, the easiest way to not feel pain by thinking of something is to not think of it, and the easiest way to not think of something is to forget about it, and the easiest way to forget about something is to not have constant reminders everywhere that it happened.

The average high school student is indifferent to the American slavery movement, because there are no more freedmen or women alive today. That doesn't mean we can't forget it happened or that our indifference will lead to it happening again, it's just another note in our mind: Slavery was bad. Got it.

It'll be the same way with the Holocaust. Genocide was bad. Got it.

Like I said, the issue isn't believing the holocaust happened or not. Those people are probably the same kinds of people who think America faked the moon landing. The issue is with the current hatred towards jews who are being wrongfully discriminated and who are being wrongfully portrayed as "acting the victim". Nobody deserves that kind of treatment.

Janus left the lookout post he shared with Grey, Green, Red, and Blue between rounds for the tournament...

Janus: "So, Callean... Interesting fellow. I've never met him before, I've never even spoken to him. In all my travels, I can't really seriously believe I've never once seen him."

Continuing his monologue, Janus returned to the room he was staying at, where Satchel, still slightly scorched from the Power Shot Dracoon fired at him, lay on a bed fashioned for the comfort and healing of the injured fighters.

Janus: "Satchel, we're going somewhere. Come on."

Satchel: "What're you planning, Janus?"

Janus: "Nothing, just an interlude, is all. I want to meet someone."

Satchel: ".....alright."

Janus slung the sentient piece of storage equipment over his back, and walked calmly back to the gigantic battle arena where the tournament would be taking place.

He trudged up several flights of stairs to the judge's room, where he knew Teddylot, Schwa, and Callean would be more than likely arguing over who won what fight when. Recognizing how rude it would be to interrupt, Janus simply stuck a note on the door to the room, and walked to the roof of the building. The note was simple:

"Callean, meet me at the roof.
---Janus"

Janus sat down on an exposed air vent, placed Satchel beside him, and waited.

Grey: "Forget about that, make her talk about this Schala person!"

Having rolled out of the way of her claws, Grey pointed his gun menacingly at Hooktail, ready to fire. He then looks over at Kirby confusedly...

"Uh, that IS what we're looking for, right?"

There's also the "Valcion Award", which is where you venture forth in an MMORPG and run back to your party, trailing a shoad of powerful monsters that end up raping everyone.

I thought the end of Superstar Saga was WAY too anticlimatic.

From the Stands again!

Grey: "Let NSNick finish it off! He needs the experience more than any of you, and it's best to have another effective fighter in the group rather than have a higher risk of him dying mid-battle... That'd screw you ALL over!"

The teenager was armed with a renewed arsenal of fruits and veggies in case anyone tried to strike it before Nick did...

Janus: "Pff. I've met angels before. They're all the same. Always so "Oh, I'm from heaven and you're not, look at me in awe because I can rip the planet in two with my earlobes..."

His mantra continues as he, too, steps through the teleporter and back to the bottom level.

Trapster reminds me of the entire cast of The Goonies.

Jarukoth reminds me of Kakashi.

When I hear Hiryuu, I'm reminded of the Strider Hiryuu games.

???: "Morning?"

Down from the stair-ledge of the clock tower jumped a brown-haired young man in a tattered black suit and sunglasses. Unexpectedly, he had no duffel bag attached to his back, and was adorned only in his suit, with the exception of the almost-clear scythe attached to his back. Oh, and the metal arm and leg. Can't forget about that, either. Kinda noticeable, you see. He landed with a loud clanging noise on the cobblestones of the pavement.

???: "There's not gonna be a morning at this rate... I've heard of odd lunar patterns, but this is really rather ridiculous! The world's gonna end, of course. You know that much already, and I've been here a few times. Can't seem to figure out how to stop it, either."

He looked up at the fast-approaching moon. It seemed even closer than it was before.

"Yep, moon's gonna come crashing down, but like I said, you probably already knew that. Now, if nothing's gonna change, I'm gonna get out of here. Maybe I'll go watch Groundhog Day a few more times, see if I can think of something new to try."

He then notices he's talking to a walking piece of wood and a motley crew of adventurers. Looking down at Kirbynite, he gets hit with a sudden surge of inspiration...

"Wait... That's different. This is your first time here, right? Well, nevermind that! You're a difference! You're a major difference! You all haven't been here before and that means that if I go back you'll be here and you can help me because you know what's gonna happen and you can avoid it and because you can avoid it that means you know that you can figure something out to change it and keep it from happening altogether and that means you can help me!"

During this mantra, the man runs circles around the group, dancing and realizing the revelation he's come upon. Of course, he hasn't quite gotten a few things into his head yet, but he does seem very happy, in the very least...

"Oh, my name's Kalar, by the way. Nice to meet you! Now, there's no time for more introductions, I'll learn your names in...." He giggles happily "...Time!"

He then leaps up to the top of the ledge in a single bound, defying all reasonable physics in the process...

"Come on, get up here! You might know that screw-up in the mask that's messing with things!"

OOC: Entrance post. Anything wrong, just tell me.

Name: Kalar
Age: 17
Race: Anthropomorphic personification
Gender: Male
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 159 lbs
Hair: Short, dark brown
Eyes: Brown, crazy red glow when concentrating
Common Attire: Tattered black pinstriped suit, beat-up dress shoes, steel right arm and leg
Weaponry: Multiweapon X28, custom model

Bio: The SF universe's version of Janus, Kalar has had a significantly different life than the JSA Janus, and because of his experiences, is considerably less stable than him mentally, often the victim of fits of glee and brilliance. Lacking his interdimensional brother's ability to regenerate wounds has given Kalar the metal arm and leg he currently sports, and though he certainly won't die a natural death, he's still entirely mortal. Using his multiweapon in various forms (the name implies multiple weapons in the same device, of course), Kalar prefers the scythe and rapier most, and uses them in a very deadly fashion, when he needs to. He also has trained himself in several forms of energy manipulation, and has even exhibited psionic and magical potential! He's not at all as strong as Janus or even the Agents, but he makes up for it with a higher potential ability: He learns extremely quickly, often only needing to see a demonstration once to learn a lesson. His photographic memory serves very useful, especially in a life as long as his will be, assuming he isn't killed, first.

Also noteworthy: If he and Janus were to actually meet, it'd be kinda like what would happen in Back To The Future if the present and future Marties were to meet. Either the universe would implode upon itself, or they'd both just faint.
