Janus: "Too slow!"

And therein lies the strength of Heart of Steel: By allowing his blood to keep pumping at a regular pace, Janus can maintain a constant speed, increasing it at will with the attack! Dive-rolling just underneath the Hypno Lock beam, Janus comes out of his roll by springing upward and uppercutting Schwa with an extended ray of lightning emitting from the end of his hammer.

Janus claps an arm on the deflated Schwa's shoulder, as a gesture of comfort to his downhearted pal.

Janus: "It's not so much your singing that bothers me, but this isn't an auditorium in the same way you think it is. Problem is, the SB department at Acmlm's gets so little funding, he probably couldn't afford anything else. There'll be time for song and dance later on, but right now I'd suggest we keep our focus on the tournament. It needs more organization before we can really party!"

*counts off*

Coffee, tea, Mountain Dew, root beer, Pepsi, Red Bull, Whoopass, Bawls, Penguin Mints (when I can find them), Electric Blue Jolt... Way too much caffeine for the average human.

My friends and I, being the avid LAN partygoers that we are, have all developed caffeine shakes in our hands. It's like a rite of passage for a gamer.

As for Starbucks, when I can afford it I like their White Chocolate Mochas.

Janus: "Oh, I didn't hit him THAT hard, did I...?"

Janus looked over Schwa's body checking for vital signs.

"Jeez, he's pretty old... What if I killed him? That'd suck, I'd have every Psi warrior in the universe on my tail. Let's see...."

Janus prods the downed body of Schwa.

"Hey, you ok?"

Did the insurance company strike a deal with the construction company that built the buildings to build them a set height, so that in exchange for paying for the buildings to be built a set height, the construction company would purchase their insurance for their employees?

Striking Janus' hauberk, Schwa's burst of speed is interrupted by Janus' use of the forward momentum of Schwa's hit to do a quick twirl with his hammer. If the frontflip is continued, Schwa will most likely be hit while landing. After the spar, Janus leaps a few feet away from Schwa for more banter.

Janus: "No, you're not fine. I can see it. Something seems to be troubling you, be it physical or mental. You seem sluggish, not at all like the Schwa I fought so long ago."

Janus holds his hammer in the clock position, moving "two" to "three".

"Certainly, your mind has increased dramatically in strength, I can feel the mental blows you deal at least a hundredfold from their older power, but it seems like your body isn't keeping up. Are you still just playing with me? I hope so."

At this, Janus wonders if he's still under the holy influence of Schwa's Psi Vortex...

"Did your sensae fight as you do? Did he train his body as much as his mind? I wonder. Take this not as an insult, my friend, I'm beginning to be concerned for your safety. As you said, the wise man knows that nobody dies in a sparring match. But you're a fool if you think you can keep your physicality at the same stage as your mental capacity."

Janus holds his hammer out behind him, as a rush of heat and cold energy charge into the hammer, the head of which has been spinning, creating a tiny whirlwind at its end. Four elements.

"I can continue on with you. As I said, this isn't over yet, and I still haven't really shown you how much I've improved. It's been 50 years for you, but it's been at least 500000 for me."

The fifth element will have to wait...

"Please, Schwa. For the sake of your life and our friendship. Tell me if we go too far..."

I can't quite phrase this question correctly, but....

Does it have to do with employee rank? As in there are ten stories to the top, and the higher up you are in the company, the higher your office is. It'd be a sign that the company commands respect and reputation, that they have such a well-defined heirarchy, that all of its employees would work harder to get to a higher office...

EDIT: Also, the Japanese take stock in respect, honor, and loyalty, do they not? The higher up you are in the company, the more of this you command. Your height in the building would be a sign of how much of these you command as well as your actual position in the company.

OOC: Dude, you should write horror fiction or something, you're good.

As the flames died down, the morning sun shined upon the silhouette of Janus, who stood upon the head of his floating hammer, the unconscious Grey in one arm, the other arm placed in front of his face. It was a narrow escape, but Janus managed to get his hammer back in time to rise above the flames before Grey was badly injured. Janus spoke into a wrist communicator given to him by Agent Blue some time ago...

Janus: "John, the detective's in bad condition, he's been badly burned and if he stays here he won't last much longer. Consider this mission a fKitten Yiffer. There's not really a place to pick him up, so I'm setting the coordinates for the remote teleporter. Just get him out of here. I've got to deal with a problem that just arose."

The voice of Agent Blue could be heard over the wristwatch...

Blue: "I see. Do not worry, Janus. We will make sure he recovers. I take it our new ally will not be an ally?"

Janus: "Correct. Mission failed. But he seems intent on a fight, so I've got to make sure nobody else gets hurt. It's hard enough keeping an eye on this guy, so just get him out of here. I don't want anyone else to die. Just get Grey out of here."

Blue: "Understood. Teleporting Detective Grey to HQ."

As Blue's voice crackled over the wrist communicator, green light swirled around the limp body of Grey, and in an instant he disappeared from Janus' arms, returning to the Whitelight base to recover. Janus, however, still floated in the morning sky.

Janus: "Your reasoning's a bit flawed, there. I'm not exactly "mortal," in the sense you seem to use, anyway. Now then, what else are you capable of?"

Janus' glowing blue eyes stayed locked onto the shining red beacon that was Phage.

"Here's, of course, to hoping you don't end up destroying the planet..."

OOC: It's a long road ahead....

Alright, a few more changes:

I've determined types for my characters. Red, Green, and Blue, would be fire, electric, and ice/water, respectively, meaning their strengths and weaknesses would be as such. Janus' type will be Ground and Flying, but the moves he uses will have alternate types as well. Since he's a great deal stronger than the agents are, I'm also going to impose a ratio on his use, in that I have to use at least two other characters between waves before I can use him again, or else I know I'll just end up alternating between him and Red or something like that, since they're my two strongest.

Also, I've been considering your rule on offensive summons. Would it be implausible for me to use a technique that actually summons another person from the SB arena to perform an attack? It'd be sort of a one-shot thing. I got the idea from the Call Bead system that was implemented during the Team Sim Battle tournament that fell through a few months ago...

So I'm looking for some new anime to watch. I'm getting tired of fighting anime. The only really non fighting anime I've seen so far that isn't mecha is Fruits Basket, and I thought that was excellent.

I'm looking for a good love story, basically. I don't mind mecha, either. I like mecha. But preferably, I'd like to see a decent love story that doesn't really involve fighting or anything like that. I mean, understandably some of them will have a lot of fighting alongside the story, like Full Metal Panic, but that's alright.

Actually, I think I'll use FMP for the basis of my search. It's a good love story, and it doesn't really bog itself down with repetitive action or anything like that. Any suggestions along those lines? I've heard Saikano is like that, and that it's really really depressing, too. Other than that, not much else.

Nah, nah, now you're getting into yuri, which isn't really what I'm looking for, and fanservice, which is pretty much the opposite of what I'm going for. I looked into Azumanga Daioh, have a few episodes of it. I think it's great, and really quirky, like you said, Tarale. Trouble is I need to find more than about 6 episodes of it.

I've sworn I'll never see Love Hina. As for Ranma 1/2, I've read the first manga volume of it, and I like it a lot, but aren't there almost as many episodes of Ranma 1/2 as there are of Dragon Ball Z or something? I don't really want something repetitive.

And what's Rumiko Takahashi?

EDIT: Heh, I just looked this post over a second time, and damn, I'm picky...

Was she having blood work done when her bag burst open, causing her to die from blood loss?

I'd further appreciate adding a purpose to my game than fighting a soulless clone. I'll take the official villain version. And just to keep things interesting, I'll make it a one on one duel between him and Janus.

I'm pretty sure that's all the changes I'd like to make, for now. I appreciate this, you're practically bending over backward for this, and I've been keeping it complicated. Crazy part is, I've still got two endless games, a long game, and a professional endurance to wait through.

This is a lot of work, and I'd like to thank you for being so lenient not just with me, but with everyone who's submitted customized rules.

This game reminds me of the war back in 62, when I took on an army of Ninja Pirate Robots with nothing but a Qwack-O-Ray and a half-charged Crotchitizer. (spot the reference)

In the unlikely case NSNick's answer is wrong, what if he was given pieces of different toys to put together and couldn't figure it out because he wasn't given all the parts of a single toy to assemble...

Kirby Superstar is one of the greatest games ever made. If this game comes even close to it, I'll be glad I own a gamecube.

However, I didn't really like Kirby 64, so I'm hoping this doesn't turn out like it at the same time. If they combined the power-melding system with the helper system, that'd kick ass, cause you could have like helpers that would look totally awesome with melded powers.

And they gotta bring back TAC, the Hammer, Yoyo, and the Jet abilities. I miss those sorely. And classic Cutter, the cutter power from Kirby 64 was just bad, although it was pretty neat when combined with Stone.

Alright, in honor of the new Kirby game for Gamecube, I thought I'd do a bit of a throwback...

Personally, I think Yoyo, Mirror, Hammer, Sword, and Paint all rock. It's been so long since I played this game, but the new Kirby brought backa lot of great memories.

So which one's your favorite?
