Grey leaps out the window he's in, and as he falls, fires a bullet upward at one of the missiles, to detonate it before it hits the building! Assuming the missiles are impact-detonated, that should probably cause one of those fancy massive explosions you see in most generic animes... |
Grey: "But.... there's still the falling issue...." And indeed there is! A fifty-story fall is going to hurt just about anyone, and Grey's no exception. To slow his descent, Grey twists one of the buttons on his coat, triggering a small parachute from within his coat. While not exactly enough to keep him perfectly safe, it's still gonna make sure he's not a puddle of goo when he hits the ground, which he does -- hard.

Janus: "Shit!" With a quick full-body tackle aimed at the now-frozen-in-terror-Grey, Janus managed to pull him out of the way of Phage's charge, and shoved him against the wall of the alley, furious at himself for not realizing that would happen. "Foolish! I can't have you getting hurt, can I? You. Stay here, he's attacking. I'll handle this, just stay safe." Grey stares wide-eyed at Phage and presses himself as far up against the wall as he can, shocked and awed. Janus, meanwhile, is unfazed. He takes his satchel, and from it extends the pole-handle of the now-converted hammer. His eyes lock onto Phage, and begin glowing an eerie blue color... "Alright, then. If that's the way you want to play, then let's play...." (restricted) |

I think it's entirely possible to get rid of oil altogether.... I know there are economic problems involved, but can anyone actually tell me what those problems are? Why can't we just get rid of oil totally and go for renewable energy, like wind power and solar power, or electric cars, or something like that? Are the economic problems really that bad? |

Halo is overrated. Halo is not revolutionary, just as Final Fantasy 7 was not revolutionary, just as Grand Theft Auto III was not revolutionary. |
Halo changed little about the genre. I own Halo for the PC. On the PC, it's a generic FPS that looks very nice. I can drive vehicles, follow along with an amusing storyline, shoot things, snipe things, rocket launcher things, and if I feel up to it, I can throw a few grenades at my foes. I can do all of this, with the exception of the plot part, in a game such as Unreal Tournament 2004, and I can do literally all of it in Half Life. I didn't say Halo was a bad game. I just don't think it's worth getting an Xbox for. Similarly, while the ability to punch people off of vehicles is certainly alluring, I doubt I will jump out of my computer chair, buy an Xbox, and get Halo 2 and join the many fanboys that think it's the greatest game ever because they haven't picked up an RPG in their lifetime. To me, Halo belongs where all good first person shooters belong. On the PC.

As he dives out of the way of the emotional explosion, Janus places his hands together, shuts his eyes, and rolls along the ground, ending up in a standing position near the rainbow-handed Schwa. "Iron Will!!!" Janus' eyes begin glowing their signature azure color, and he opens them wide, staring directly at the demonic formation. "This technique is more of a mental block than anything else... So long as I keep my concentration, I can stand up against nearly anything my foe can dish out." The wall of willpower, a single-minded focus formed by years of experience, allows Janus to keep on fighting, no matter how hard of a hit he takes. "Sorry to disappoint you, Schwa, but I will not stand down!" OOC: I don't know if you know anything about Ragnarok Online, but this is basically the Endure skill from it.

Slamming his hammer into the ground, Janus released a shockwave that caused a chunk of earth and rock to come flying in front of Phage, in an effort to block his assault on Grey! Grey sank out of the way, falling to the ground and frantically scrambling to get away from Phage! "Can't have him dying, now can we? And as a followup...." As the wave of earth erupted from the surface, Janus hurled his hammer in a spinning arc at Phage! "Take this!"

From the bright glare of the sun, Grey sees the missiles coming, and barely manages a shounen "jump out of the way of the massive explosion while for some reason taking very little damage" maneuver before pointing his gun at the sky-flying Get Machine and firing! However, rather than empty an entire clip, Grey fires one. Single. Bullet. Standard Issue "Whitelight" Armor Piercing bullet, straight at the Get Machine's rear engine. Rolling along the ground from the impact of his leap, Grey brings himself to a standing position and attempts to admire his handiwork, however it may have fared. |

Calling his hammer to him, Janus again closes his eyes and concentrates. This time, he crosses his hammer over his chest, bringing it so that he is holding the edge of the hammer and the handle just beneath the head straight outward from his chest. "Heart of Steel!!!" Nothing happens.... "You'll see what this one does later. Another thing you might want to take note of, as well..." Janus takes his hammer and hurls it toward the demonic being, as a burst of cream-colored light emits from it! "Thanks to you, I'm holy now."

I've been suffering from insomnia for a long time now, and I can't seem to find a good cure for it. Right now it's not that big a deal, I lose sleep but it doesn't take away from my life as a whole. I wake up in the middle of the night, I still sleep, but I've noticed over the past few months I've been gradually getting less and less sleep. It's a bit like a problem Valcion had awhile ago. I'm just gonna ask the question, in any case. Can anyone think of a decent cure for insomnia?

Blue: "Right! Red, Green, come! I have an idea that I would like to attempt!" Finally, a chance to show off their stuff! Huddling together, after a bit of whispering and planning the three agents stand, shoulder to shoulder, and rush Tuxydon simultaneously! Red: "Red!" Red rushes Tuxydon, slamming a fire-coated fist into the ground before him, sending a magma-jet of molten earth upward and in front of Tuxydon! Green: "Green!" As Green rushed Tuxydon, he lept high into the air, sending a surge of electricity that arced toward and along the ground to his target! Blue: "Blue!" The final component of the attack, Blue rushed Tuxydon, showering the area around him with a heavy mist, conducting and amplifying Green's electrical charge! In turn, Red's heated magma assault turned the mist into boiling water, intent on scalding Tuxydon! All three: "Whitelight Combo: Elemental Assault!!!" The three agents settled to rest standing at the corners of a triangular pattern, with Tuxydon at the center, as their attack ended in a furious interaction of the conflicting energies!
