Well, if any of you have ever read any books by political satirists (I.E. Al Franken <3), you'll find that everything involving politics is in some way biased. The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity and Colmes, everything on CNN, the list goes on. And it's not just the right wing either, it's the left too. The leftists have their own propaganda machines, like my earlier example, Al Franken. There's no way to be totally unbiased on issues because the second you take a neutral stance on anything, you get flamed by both sides.

Anyway, I'm not exactly the best person to ask that question to, but apparently it has a pretty good plot. It certainly SEEMS more interesting watching this, but, I would not wish to spoil anything.

Heh, well that's even more fucked up. Who the hell wanks around all day and gets this great idea: "I'll make a manga about beating people up with cards!" The Japanese, that's who.

Actually..... The REAL plot of Yu-Gi-Oh! is more about mind games and riddles than it is that damn card game. The first series, the real Yu-Gi-Oh!, was about egyptian kings, those Millenium Items, and the deadly games the kings played. One of the powers of the items was the ability to torture a person's mind to incredible extent, so long as you gained dominion of their mind through beating them in a mental game, hence the whole "Penalty Game" thing mentioned whenever Yugi would own someone.

The real series is overall much darker, more sinister than the Duel Monsters card game series, which was a sequel based on the incredible popularity of the issue of the manga featuring the Duel Monsters game, which appeared once, and never again in the original series. It was so popular that it got a series of its own, hence the 99% dialogue anime known to Americans as Yu-Gi-Oh!.

I..... think that's how the story goes.

Well fought. But, you seem to have forgotten one thing...

www.emogame.com/bushgame

You think Bush hasn't done anything wrong? Play this. If you refuse to, I might as well just elaborate right now.

First and foremost, the fall of the economy is a little bit of an understatement. The United States of America has spent more money under the Bush Administration than any previous presidency. And by "more money" I mean we're in the biggest friggin budget trouble we've ever been in. Even worse than William McKinley's gold standard, even worse than Herbert Hoover (is it Hoover...?) and the Great Depression, even worse than William Howard Taft and his obsession with the Phillipines, and even worse than the granddaddy of them all, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Pardon me for saying this, but the fall of the economy is a LITTLE BIT worse than losing the war in Iraq, seeing as how if we lose in Iraq, that's ok because we can always say we tried and we can always go back someday, or better yet just leave well enough alone. Of course, if our economy goes down the trash hole, that's a bit more than just one country in the Middle East, it's the fall of FUCKING AMERICA ITSELF. We are losing so much money annually so fast that if this continues at the rate it's going, we're gonna be hundreds of billions of dollars in the hole, moreso than we are now!

The fall of the economy was not caused by 9/11, either. It was caused by massive increases in military spending, the establishment of a certain useless Department involving the Security of our Homeland and the various useless programs that followed its creation. You know the color alert system of terrorist threat? You know how pointless that is? You know that we paid for that? Yeah, we did. So we are paying for a redundant terrorist alarm to defend us against people who wouldn't dare attack us more than once and have yet to in the last three years that they've been a "threat".

And also, you think Kerry's stupid? You really think he's a moron because he raised two fingers when he meant to raise three? How about you? Have you ever done that? You know, made a small mistake that you can look back and laugh about? I'm sure you have, and I'm sure you don't think you're a moron. Kerry isn't a moron because he forgot to raise the correct number of fingers while talking heatedly about an important subject, and I can assure you that if that does indeed make him a moron, then there really is no hope for all of humanity.

Oh, and if he's a moron, then.... well.... yeah.

Alright, so did Ratchet and Clank 3 deserve the 10, then? GI's been idjits about a lot of games in the past, if it didn't deserve it, then we can just take Paper Mario and RC3 with a grain of salt, realizing that the staff of GI is indeed filled with people who just sway along with what they think everyone else is gonna say.

Oh, you just released the tiger....

Alright first and foremost, Church and state ARE NOT TO BE MIXED. When most of your "anti-bible" liberals say they want to get rid of religious beliefs, they mean they want them out of the government offices! We live in a world of Democracy, not Theocracy! Every time George W. Bush says God is on our side, my stomach churns in disgust, because he does not know that for sure. Yet despite not knowing that God is on our side, just sorta assuming he is because we're the United States of America, one (of many) nation(s) under God, Bush continues to say God is blessing us, God is with us, and God is against them. God, God, God. What the hell? I don't believe in God, does that mean I can't be an American, because God is against me? Fuck that!

And guess what? I'm a pinko, too. Here's the real story on Communism:

In 1848, a man named Karl Marx and his friend and colleague Frederick Engels published a book called "The Communist Manifesto" in order to stir up some social controversy and start a revolution. Well, it did. A wave of social controversies, particularly in Germany and Russia, broke out. We're gonna concentrate on Russia.

Russia supported Communism, which was indeed a liberal practice. However, it was not liberal in the sense that Davideo appears to be portraying it in, where the government bans everything and hates freedom. Communism is a system of government that places the power in the Proletariat, the working class. Lenin implemented this governmental system and for awhile, it did indeed work out, people weren't suffering and weren't dying in droves. Then Lenin started dying, and his two subordinates, Trotsky (yay!) and Stalin (um.... yay?) began a power struggle to take his former position. Trotsky believed more in Lenin's notions than Stalin did. Eventually, Stalin forced Trotsky to flee Russia, took the top spot, and the middle classes, the non proletariat, began to revolt. To quell the revolt, Stalin killed them all, and forced any survivors to put up and shut up. The proletariat was in power once again. Communism works on paper, people, but it doesn't work if the rulers are going to be greedy bastards about it.

Oh, wait, I don't see any censorship or banning or anything like what Davideo described in there.... Damn, man, I coulda sworn that all liberals were extreme freak commies who wanted to ban the universe. Oh well, guess I was wrong.

And yeah, I'm a pinko, a sympathizer. Doesn't mean I'm gonna try to get the middle class mass murdered, because not every Communist thinks like Stalin did. So before you accuse someone of being a Communist, why not try looking up the true definition of a Communist and consider the honor and belief in equality that comes with the title? Frickin' Stalinist.

Janus: "Relax, Schwa.... This will do more help to me than harm!"

Rushing towards the closer fireball, Janus swings his hammer at it, hits it, and the fireball is absorbed into his hammer! As Janus concentrates on controlling the heat energy his bag just absorbed, the handle of the hammer quickly becomes extremely hot, blisteringly hot, and Janus almost drops it from the pain. The heat, however, quickly subsides....

"Ow.... alright, that's fire! Next..."

Having gotten three of the five elements he needs (earth, wind, and fire), Janus decides to concentrate on Ice next! He looks up at the second fireball, and a cold wind swirls around him...

"Blue's Blizzard!"

Ice and frozen water swirl around Janus as he leaps upward to the farther away fireball (assumedly still falling towards him) and slams it towards Schwa!

Of course, his eyes ARE wide open while all of this is happening...

Janus: "Left to right, left to right... Alright. So basically, I just have to make sure I don't go to the edges of the belts and I won't get a nice spike sandwich."

Right as he's about to leap onto the conveyor belts, Janus notices the strange looking wall.

"Ninja mansion.... Strangely colored wall.... OK!"

Rather than just float across the room on his hammer, Janus instead decides to jump onto the conveyor belts, moving from belt to belt and making sure not to let the belts drag him to the spiked walls. As he passes the discolored wall, he hurls his hammer at it, and walks against the flow of the conveyor belts while looking at the results of his shot.

I have a couple of friends who were in the closed betas and stress tests, got to see them playing it, and even took the controls a few times myself.

From what I've seen, it's a lot like Everquest, but with about 20X as much to do.

I'm particularly looking forward to trying my hand at a dwarf hunter. Riflemen were always one of my favorite units.

I also think it'd be awesome if they had a system where you could establish mortar teams out of a couple of dwarves in the same party.

Well said, fellow. Here's an addendum:

Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando was indeed an excellent game. Perhaps it's the predecessors that do the successors justice? As I recall, the first Paper Mario game, despite being inventive and funny, did not get good reviews or reasonably good sales, which may have turned reviewers off from the sequel. Regardless, I have played both of the predecessors to these two contested games, and because of them I intend to play both of the successors. If you think the first game is good, you're expecting the second one to be just as good, if not better, right?

Well, I loved both Ratchet and Clank and Paper Mario. And Game Informer hated the first Paper Mario, but loved Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. I want to play both of the new games, they wanted only to play Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal. That makes my point all the more boldened, right?

I stopped actually reading the reviews for Game Informer three years ago, when they started hating Megaman. I get it for the previews and the news section now, because I'm too lazy to check Gamespy or IGN or any of those other internet sources.

And I LIKED Conker's Bad Fur Day, it was the last good Rare game.

The fact is, Nintendo may not always make children's games, but they do exude a kiddie look, and I think they do it intentionally. Think about it! Nintendo won the hearts of older gamers in 1985, when those gamers were kids. They're playing for a new audience right now, they're playing for the youths of the world that are the offspring of the gamers of the 80s and 90s. Someday people are going to look back on Super Smash Brothers Melee with the fondness that we see in The Legend of Zelda and River City Ransom (well, that I see anyway, you're all entitled to your own opinions). There will be billions of sequels, and nobody will remember the old old games, claiming that PS2 and Gamecube are ancient systems, and shaking their heads in disbelief at the very mention of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Pokemon will go through its Silicon and Lead versions, Conker's gonna get Liver Poisoning, Mario's gonna take up chain smoking, and a new generation of characters will run circles around Sonic the Hedgehog. All the while, other companies are going to be trying to make their characters accessible to older audiences, adding more and more blood while Nintendo makes a fortune off of children. It's genius. It's sheer marketing genius.

Nintendo literally holds the future of gaming in the palm of their hands, and they probably don't even know it yet.

Pardon me, but Steampunk? That sounds kinda like what people in the 1850s would expect in their science fiction. Is that what it is?

I've always loved the prospect of amazing things being done with mundane technology (I.E. Steam engines), maybe that's why I liked 6, 7, and Tactics so much.

Speaking of which, aren't we all forgetting about Ivalice? I mean, 12 takes place there, so we might as well take a look at that place. I'm a bit rusty on my Tactical history, but let's lay the facts out:

We've got an inquisition going on, the churches are attacking heretics and pagans (as is evidenced by Ramza's conflicts with the church) and are influencing the governments of several nations in destructive ways. The pagan persecution is obvious: Drawing from the Roman Catholic church's suppression of heretics through its own inquisition office. Then we have the warring countries, the church pulling the strings behind it all......

I'm guessing..... The Crusades.

Name: Thomas "Grey" Mitchell (A.K.A. Det. Grey Davis)
Class: Private Investigator
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 176 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Attire: Blue/black business suit, grey detective coat, cool Inspector Gadget-ish hat, reasonably nice shoes. White socks (fashion faux-pas).
Armament: His wits and a .44 Magnum, specially modified to include "alternative" ammunition capabilities, increased clip size, and semi-automatic mode (for those tough situations). Often wears a kevlar jacket beneath his suit. Several obtuse gadgets can be found in and around his trenchcoat.
Bio: A bit of a throwback to Sherlock Holmes or Inspector Gadget, Grey's got an impressive combination of technological equipment and the brains to use them. Typically a freelance operator, Grey's certifications are confidential: that is to say if he's got 'em, you're gonna have to pry 'em from his cold, dead fingers before he lets you read them. Originally from Great Britain (the birthplace of all great detectives), Grey's reputation as a crack P.I. quickly gave him many enemies, and the need to change his name to what he refers to himself as today. Now flying around the world on top-secret missions for international security agencies (he's clashed several times with the White Light organization's top three members...), Grey can be found nearly anywhere, usually hailing a taxi or stopping in the local pub for a cup of tea and a drink. Beware, though; his investigative skills are only matched by his gunmanship. That magnum he carries around isn't just for show; He's had it (illegally...?) modified to include an increased clip size (from a six shot-barrel loader to a 15-bullet cartridge stored in the handle of the gun), semi-automatic mode (faster firing, a bit less accuracy), and a few nasty surprises for anyone who asks why he has to use titanium casings for his alternative ammunition supplies. Of course, Grey is not naturally a fighter; expect to see him finding a smarter way out of danger than drawing his gun. However, if he's cornered, he'll do what he can.

OOC: Melvin, I like your style. Care to have a duel?

Also OOC: This is actually the opening to a story arc I'd like to make in the SF, with this being a formal invitation to join.

Grey stepped out of a Hovertaxi, his eyes turning upward towards the top of the M-Tek headquarters building. This certainly seemed to be the place. Big, extravagant doors, taller-than-you-could-imagine skyscraper, and somehow he had a feeling if he did a bit of sniffing around, he'd find a great big stash of anime. Downloaded off the internet, no doubt.

It was a cold, cloudless day in Japan; the skies were certainly clear and the sun was shining brightly, but Grey could feel the brisk air flowing through his coat. He walked slowly towards the front door, his hand gradually nearing his gun holster. Somehow he had a feeling he'd need it, regardless of what Melvin said...

Grey: "Well, Melvin, I've got an offer to make you... Let's see if you take it."

Well, they leave the fate of Ramza open to interpretation. Some circles say he's alive, others say he's dead. Personally I say he lived through the end of FFTactics, but there's just as much evidence supporting that as there is refuting it. Leave it to Square at its height to make a story like Tactics'.

Of course, regardless of what happens to Ramza, Delita's still a bastard.

Janus (Thinking): 'Damn, I'm going to have to do this quickly, then... But I still need more time!'

(speaking) "Well, Schwa, that's a bit of a problem, I guess... I better take in that ice right now, before it disappears!"

Sucking the cold energy into his hammer, Janus notices it IS indeed being pulled toward the Gyrowell -- in fact, he's got to grip it with all of his strength just to make sure it doesn't go flying towards it! That kind if gravitational interference will definitely render the hammer useless for the time being. But that's alright, he just needs one more element, and then a way to mix things up a bit...

"Alright, and now the fifth element!"

"Green's Lightning!"

Struggling to split his concentration between keeping his hammer steady and keeping his wits about him, Janus surrounds himself in electricity, hoping he'll be able to keep it for long enough to absorb it into his hammer, which is becoming increasingly hard to hold onto... As he surrounds himself with electricity, he reconverts the hammer to its bag form, and straps it to himself to make sure it doesn't fly away! He then stamps his feet into the ground, keeping himself well-entrenched until he's finished with his work.

"Hey, Schwa... just a quick question; Isn't your holy ethereal energy elemental, too?"
