This is turning into a discussion of ethics, and religious belief.

You ask how we got it. I'm saying we don't have it in the first place. It's not a conflict of religious beliefs, and it's been a conflict of ethics since the start (note the title of the thread). Read my post a second time.

That's why it's called Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I had a multitude of strong characters that used skills, normal attacks, Magic, techniques, whatever I needed to get by. If you can't use Skills, then just use Gunmanship or Magic. Can't use Magic? Use Techniques instead. There's only a maximum of 3 things that can be banned, and even if you have Techniques, Skills, and Magic banned, you can still use the Fight command.

Not only that, but who uses items in FFT anyway? No matter what happens, if you play the game right you're always gonna be stronger than the enemies you face.

Grey, four of the books that you find when doing propositions can be read and enjoyed in full. Each one takes several hours to finish, and they really add to the game -- not least because you get a glimpse of the not-mired-in-war superior civilizations outside Ivalice.

I see. I never did enough of the propositions, my original FFT party consisted of about five people I always took into battle, and as I wasn't very comfortable with sending unskilled people either into battle or on propositions, I only did the safe ones that didn't involve random encounters. I guess that's why I didn't find all of the Zodiac stones or anything.

I think this is getting out of hand.

D1, You'd save the human over the dog. Good. I'd save both at once, not placing priority over each. Good. Some people would save the dog. Good. This is an opinion subject. Just that. Opinions. Everyone has one, if each one were the same then they wouldn't be opinions. I'm tired of trying to defend my position or anyone else's from what you believe, because frankly a 16 year old kid that you're having an argument with over the internet isn't gonna change your beliefs. I just don't agree with you. You don't agree with me. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Can't we agree to disagree?

Since he can't see, hearing Shadow's footsteps and shouting is all Janus can use for sensory protection. Despite being unable to fully dodge the slash, Janus hears Shadow's shout and attempts to get out of the way, suffering a minor cut to his side in the process.

Janus: "Ha, you don't mess around, do you? Right, I'll need to see to defeat you, so I better do something about all this darkness."

Running as far from where he believes Shadow is (right behind him, considering the last attack), Janus unzips his bag and pulls out a small disc. : "You know my fighting style is based around gaming, right? Any time someone puts in the name "Janus" as their name in a video game, I get access to a new game to draw my power from. Of course, there's a drawback. I never know what power I'll have access to next, so I generally have to work with the odds against me. Fortunately, there's a solution. If I can find a game where the odds will predominantly suit me, I'll usually get a good draw."

He throws the disc in the air. As he does, it breaks apart and a blue light begins to shine, allowing the room to be properly lit. The light then drops to Janus' hand like a stone. "Materia, for example, has a nice, healthy glow to it. This one's a blue Materia from disc 2 of Final Fantasy 7, so it won't be much use to me as of yet, just an elemental Materia. But the light should be enough for me to see you, as long as I keep it hooked to my satchel here. Granted, I was hoping for something to help me fight as well, but I can deal. It's a shame, though. Waste of a good game, and I don't exactly have another one to work with."

He stands still again, hooks the glowing blue ball to his satchel, and waits, ready for his foe's next attack. The blue ball, activated by being hooked to the satchel, now provides enough light for Janus to see a vague distance in front of him.

Janus frowns. Nothing happens to him.

Janus: "I'm quite aware that you think you're being funny, but you'd best not mock me. I said ANY, not at the moment, and my abilities only work one way, so your tactic won't exactly work. And as you seem to have a problem with the use of my powers, I might as well play along and not use them. I DO have other attacks, after all. But thank you very much for the new game, I always appreciate extra help."

Scowling, Janus reaches into a pouch on his satchel and seems to flip a switch. A long handle extends from the satchel, which has become harder and more box-shaped, forming a crude hammer. "I suppose I'll wait for the rest of the games, and just use the bag."

"This bag is quite heavy, you know. In its current form it's a useful bludgeoning weapon. It's as light as a feather to me, but I'll be sure to let you know how it feels to be hit by it."

Wielding it like a warhammer, Janus swings at Shadow.

Janus: "Ah, I'm not as easy as you thought, huh? Well, if you're ready for me, I obviously shouldn't attack you in the same way."

Shouldering the bag hammer, Janus closes his eyes and begins to concentrate. The bag seems to glow with a strange energy. After a few seconds, Janus then hurls the hammer with both hands and sends it into a spin aimed straight at Shadow. If it misses, it'll return to him like a boomerang. Unfortunately, as the Materia was hooked to the bag, Janus also can no longer see until the bag returns to him.

Janus: "Let's see how you deal with this!"

Marth and Roy's sayings are a bit cliche, then. It's ok with me, they still rule, but I always thought he was actually taunting his foe, like how Capt. Falcon says that obnoxious "Show me your moves!"

But then again, the taunts seem to be both for getting attention and for taunting, like how Yoshi jumps up and down like he did in Yoshi's Story when he found something. Or how Mewtwo always laughs triumphantly and does a little jig.

Janus: "I figured you'd try something like that!"

As the bag begins its return arc, Janus stands at the ready. As Shadow lets go of the bag, Janus uses his control over the bag to send it hurtling past Shadow and back into Janus' hands. Using the momentum from the bag, Janus swings in a roundabout arc and looks like he's about to hit Shadow back. However, at the last second, Shadow hits Janus and Janus lets go of the bag, sending it flying once again. Janus is sent flying and slams heavily into the arena wall with Shadow's tackle, bruised but not broken. The bag is nowhere to be seen.

"Oww... I was never very good at baseball..."

Janus gets up dizzily, and attempts to prepare for his opponent's next move, bagless and without a form of attack that Shadow can see.

Only 10 gigs, Ranko? Man, I've had to do worse. I go to LAN parties, so whenever I go I always make sure I have at least 15 gigs to deal with (cause we share games and media and stuff between hard drives if we want to). This means killing off at least that amount in stuff I don't use, games I don't play, anime I won't watch, and songs I won't listen to. And somehow, within the next month, the space I thought I'd use at the LAN party and didn't always ends up clogged with another stash of the same kind of stuff I deleted, except more of it.

Ever hear of a game called Marvelous? Old SNES game that never got brought stateside or emulated. It looked so good, it was a Treasure-Island style RPG starring three kids with different abilities. One had a baseball and catcher's mitt, one was strong, and another one could like run fast or something. It was supposed to be like Secret of Mana or something, at least in the switching characters on the fly. Don't know how combat would go though. I really wanted to play it.... It seemed like it would be great.

Come to think of it, I don't even think it was finished in Japan. Around 1996 though.

Man, you guys are good. I didn't even know this place existed, probably because I don't pay enough attention. But I'm glad a place like this exists, too, and I feel kinda proud for stumbling upon it. Aside from the two main rules, are there any other explicitly important things I should know? Limitations and the like.

EDIT: Also, yes, I realize how stupid of a question this is gonna be and I'm sure it's probably been asked before, but exactly who IS "Deleted User"?

It was really finished? Awesome!

.....Man, now I gotta track it down. But thanks a bunch for telling me that, I wanted to play it really badly! Do you know anything else about it, like if it's any good or not?

I'm up for new players, but if nobody else is willing to join, it can't be helped. I say leave it open for another day or so, and if nobody joins, then maybe we can start.

It might not count since this is technically a Square game, but I thought the Star Battle theme from SMRPG was the best. A lot of the themes from SMRPG were good. The battle theme was catchy, I kept humming Midas River for a long time, and I loved the Booster Tower theme, too. Come to think of it, the OC Remix of that is excellent, Booster Tarantino if you've never heard of it.

Classic.

There was also the time we played SC: Simcity. I have decided it is wrong beyond all reason to play a game where a player has the power to send horrible disasters after your base completely at random.
