9 X (sqrt2)^16 = 2304.
(9 X sqrt2)^16 = 4.74 X 10^17.

There are two separate answers here, depending on your order of operations. Since it goes PEMDAS (parentheses first), the answer depends on where the parentheses lie.

Today I woke up and played Kingdom Hearts all day (finally got the Ultima Weapon and beat the crap out of Sephiroth), then I played some RO, and I got my hands on some chinese food that my sister took home and didn't want. Then I joined the new Squares RPG in Brain Teasers and now I'm gonna go to bed, having totally wasted yet another day of my summer. Well, except for the Kingdom Hearts stuff, that was pretty worth it.

Oh, I also pondered how much energy would be in a standard .50 caliber magnum bullet with a mass of 350 grams travelling at the speed of light. It came out to a little over the amount generated by a ton of TNT.

Marth forever, man.

My fighting style is more evasive than anything else. I always get the Opportunist penalty because I'm always jumping, dodging, and waiting for an opening. But the thing is Marth's fast enough so you can do that. The best move, however, is messing with your opponent's reaction speed so that you leave yourself open and immediately counter. Most of the time they register the opening before the counter, and fall into the trap. It's great. I also tend to abuse his quick smash a lot. As far as his A+Down aerial, I only recently learned to use it well. Beforehand when I took to the air I'd try the maneuver and immediately rocket downward, hitting the ground and leaving myself way open for my opponent to take advantage of, but now I've finally gor it figured out.

I don't like playing with items that much, usually duels end up being itemless so that it becomes more of a throw down than a battle to see who grabs the pokeball first. However, on occasion what my friends and I do is set special rules, usually made by the loser of the previous match. With five people, the fifth man sits out and rotates with the last place person. The last place person then sets the new rules for the next match. At one point a particularly evil friend of mine set us all as Pichu (his favorite character because out of all of us only he can use his moves correctly), placed us in Tiny Melee mode, with poison mushrooms on very high, in Hyrule Temple with half damage and stock 5. Eventually it became more of a battle to see who'd quit first out of frustration.

"You may posses everything in the off-line world. We don't care. You come to the Internet penniless, lacking the only thing of real value here: knowledge."

*Applauds* Brilliant.

Those who know nothing can understand nothing. No matter how much one gets to know, there will always be more to learn. Even the person who wrote that surely knows that in a place where information is so important, one cannot simply know enough to be accepted and sit on their laurels. Knowledge is power, and the more of it you have around here, the stronger you'll be.

I thought Tactics advance was ok...

My only real problems with it were that the job system was too easy to twink (stopshot, people. STOP. SHOT.) and the judge system occasionally got the better of me because I wasn't paying attention.

However, considering I just recently hit my 100th hour playing it, I'd have to say I probably don't hate it.

So it'd be like the old Capcom fighters? To be really honest, I think the game would lose a lot of its charm if they switched it to sprites from models. The characters wouldn't be able to have as many animations, when the camera zoomed out or in the sprites would look disastrous, and I just think there'd definitely be an overall loss in the craziness of the game. Models are more fluid and more versatile than sprites, and a game like Smash Brother calls for some extreme versatility.

From the darkness a bright light flashes, and out steps Janus, with nothing but the clothes on his back and a satchel slung over his back. He is lazy and loose in movement, relaxed.

Janus: "Well, I'm sure I'll hardly be a match for you, but I'm willing to take a shot. Now then... Face the Master of Mediocrity!"

Janus swings his satchel from his side, bringing it into as much of a guard stance as one can with a simple duffel bag.

OOC: When you say arena of darkness, is it an actual dark arena, one without light, or just spooky and mysterious?

Well said, Leg.
And Silvershield, something you said has been eating at me.

We have dominion over the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and every creature that walks the land. We may appear similar in regards to the way in which we live - that is, we consume food for energy, breathe air, etc. - but we are above them. It's almost as if we are the Jesus of the animal kingdom, if you'll forgive the strange parallel which I've just conceived of: we are "part" animal just as He was part human, but we are also more than that, like He was divine. Not to mention our rule over animalia, just as Jesus (or God, if you prefer) reigns over all life.

How do we have dominion over other forms of life? Thats impossible, place one human anywhere in the world outside of civilization, and guaranteed he won't be showing any forms of dominion over anything. The inability for a human to survive without other humans is what makes us weaker than all other animals. We have no defenses. Granted, many other animals travel in packs, such as wolves, but they have strong jaws to bite with, they can run at high speeds, they are fit and able to survive alone for at least a short while before dying. Humans cannot. Not naturally, not anymore. We've become reliant on civilization and our tools to help us survive. If we need to use that as a crutch to keep us going, how can we say we're superior to anything? Our technology makes us superior, but we as humans are not. Our mental capacities are all we have, and as Legion said, it is leading us closer and closer to the destruction of the world. Not only that, but our mental capacities have caused us to take on such a pompous air of superiority to the rest of the world that we don't even realize how weak we really are anymore.

My stepfather once asked me if I'd go hunting if the bears had guns. I told him I'd never go hunting anyway.

As much as I respect Blizzard for being one of the only developers with a soul left, I can't say I'm gonna get this game. I'm not very into MMORPGs, the only one I play is Ragnarok. Still, it does look nice and the graphics are definitely proof that Blizzard likes moving in leaps and bounds (WCII's sprites, then WCIII's good polygonal design, now WoW's smooth 3D) when it comes to visual presentation.

I'd like to see a Starcraft MMO, personally.

I classify a friend as someone I can completely trust, someone I can tell stuff and make sure it doesn't come flying back at me. As I don't trust many people (I used to be a very trusting person, turned out quite badly), I don't consider myself a person with many very close friends. Certainly there are people whom I would gladly be friends with, but more often than not it's just a matter of not being able to keep in contact with them, or just not being able to trust them for some reason.

There can be friends one does not trust, and friends that one still likes despite their faults (I have several of these, whom I love dearly), but often these are not the mainstream definition of a friend, and are instead valuable exceptions. One of my closest friends has many unappealing factors to him; he makes racial slurs constantly and is at times abusive, but then he makes deep sentimental comments that show that he doesn't actually mean any of the hurtful things he says, and that a human really does exist underneath all of the jokes and comments. The thing about him is, if you don't know him, you won't understand why his friends have no problem with the mean things he does. If you do know him, chances are you're willing to be his friend because you see the good in him. He puts no malice into any of his jokes, and recognizing that that is his style of humor is what makes his friends true friends.

I'm a bit confused here, how would a Yu-Gi-Oh! game work without the card game? I'm interested in that, I believe Yu-Gi-Oh! is more or less 90% talk with very little action outside the card battles, so I'd like to know how they could turn it into a traditional RPG.

I've got a few of these....

One time in Gunbound, my team was on the lava map, side A. A Team (mine) had two lives left, B had one. It was my turn, I had a clear shot at a guy from B that was critical, but I was also bunched with a guy who was critical from my side, and I was critical too. I figure (since I'm in an A.Sate) that I don't wanna screw this one up, so I equip a double shot. My finger slips, I tap the spacebar, and end up shooting both myself and my teammate. The combined shockwave of my shots (since I was wearing a suit that gave me a slight bunge boost) ended up giving me a double suicide bunge, and made my team lose.

I was kicked from the room promptly after losing.

Then there was the time in Starcraft when my friends and I were all pissed off at another friend of ours, because he backstabbed a lot. So, the three of us decided to launch a huge offensive at him, and ended up seriously gangbusting him.

Or another interesting story, when I was playing with Valcion and another of my friends, and my friend decided to let loose 12 nukes in a row (he maxed out on them and stacked) on one of Val's command centers.

Or the adventures of Jimmy The Drone, when in one game my forces were reduced to nothing more than an overlord and 12 drones, but I was allowed to watch the game anyway. He kept walking around the map doing nothing, "nothing" being spying for one of my friends on another of my friends (since we have a policy where if someone is effectively disabled, they get allied with everyone and can keep watching the game). I kept being stupid and typing in a fake conversation being held between the drone and the overlord, like it was a television show or something. Eventually my friend caught on to my little scheme, and seige tanked the drone. There was a funeral.

Or "The Great Wall of Kevin", where one of my friends decided to make a gigantic wall of photon cannons stretching from one corner of Fastest Ever to the other.

Or the antics of a full force Wintermaul in WCIII, in which someone got pissed when a friend of mine decided to start spouting racial slurs (jokingly of course) with the sole intention of pissing that one person off, because it was damn funny to do so, as his reactions were, to say the least, quite amusing.

And finally, I will never, ever forget the WCIII match in which I and three of my friends decided to square off against the Hard level computer opponents. Because we were so soft from our days of turtling on each other, we were blasted to bits by Grunt Rushes.
