Blue: "That may be so in your eyes, but the enemy of the enemy is still my friend, and right now Tuxydon seems to be the biggest enemy I have. Do what you will when you finish him off, but I suggest you make sure he is not going to kill you while you're killing me."

Suddenly Blue waves his arms, as a flurry of smaller ice shards fly at Schwa and Dracoon (who is in melee range at this point; He'll need to watch himself). The shards are razor sharp, and accompanied by the same uncomfortably cold wind that Storm Gust had.

Red's got nothing else he can do. 'Certainly,' he thinks as the attack connects full force with his chest, 'at least my suit won't be burnt...' The attack is shoved straght into him, as he braces himself, his suit adding to his muscular strength and softening the blow only slightly. But curiously enough, as he begins to feel the searing pain of the attack flow into him, it almost feels cold in a way, like ice or something is forming around his chest...

Blue: "It's ok, Red. You'll survive this one..."

It's Blue! Adding further to the protection from Jarukoth's attack is Blue, forming a small enclosure of ice around Jarukoth's hand, requiring the Rasengan to blow through even more before it can actually hit Red. As the encasement of ice breaks, Red is sent flying, spinning backwards along the ground, completely dizzied, and aside from a huge burn mark in the middle of his suit, relatively--- Oh, wait, nevermind he's on the ground not moving. Yeah, he's out for a few rounds.

OOC: I don't exactly know what a direct hit with Rasengen does... I know as much as I've seen in Naruto, but is there more to it than that?

EDIT: Righto, if that's what it does then I'll just fix this up.

I've never liked sports games all that much.... But everyone says this one's just so good that you can't pass it up. I'm seriously considering getting it, it's a tossup between this or Tales of Symphonia. What makes it better than the rest of the Madden games?

As I recall there was a HUGE stack of preorders for it at my local EB, but of course, I sincerely doubt that they have any other copies in stock anyway, around here it's selling even better than Doom 3.

X was a pacifist in X2, 4, 5, and 6 before seven, it seems like the only time he didn't stop and think about what he was doing was in the first X game and in X3 (which is what made it the most awesome of the series...). Of course, in X3 I think that's when he thinks he's gonna have to kill Zero or something, I forget. The X series has way too many convoluted plotlines nowadays for me to pay attention to anything other than the action.

Posted on 08-16-04 11:25 PM, in How many C Trigger endings you've done? Link
Woohoo, I've seen all 13 (15? there are varations on some...). My two favorites by far are the programmer's ending (which inspired me to try the 9999 damage hit) because it was actually a challenge to get (just Crono vs. Lavos at the very start of the game), and the bestest best ending, the one where, if you haven't seen it yet....

Spoiler:
Lucca transforms the telepod into a time machine because Epoch was destroyed, You did all the subquests, killed Magus, but finished the game without Crono. Lucca calls back everyone from their respective times, and together, without Marle, they go and try to get Crono back.

It's a really cool ending, although it's ok if you don't kill Magus because then you get to see what he hs to say. It's just that if you do, something a bit different happens.

I consider Final Fantasy Tactics entirely a part of the series, because it has references to the three preliminary Final Fantasy needs: Chocobos, Mogs, and some dude named Cid. That said, I'm really not sure. I mean, it's a definite tossup between VI and Tactics, VII was ok but just felt kinda hollow at times (also I would have liked to have seen something more done with the Cloud/Tifa background story or RedXIII's past). VI had Magitek, Locke, and a plethora of Moogles, but FFT had challenge, Agrias, Ninjas, Robots, and their use of the Cid character was really only topped by VII (ironically enough). Of course, I haven't even finished VI yet, so I guess by default I have to go with Tactics as the superior game. Man, I need to finish VI.

I agree that Steiner is an inferior character who can't do anything without Vivi at his side, but you don't even want to go for the pride of having finished FFIX in under 11 hours (that's the time limit, right...)? I kinda wish I hadn't gotten rid of IX, I learned about EX2 after I sold it. Of course, if I hadn't I would never have gotten my PS2...

I've got it all on my hard drive, I have to delete it constantly. Here's what I have or have had thus far:

One Piece 1-80
Naruto 1-?
FLCL
Trigun (except ep. 17)
Full Metal Alchemist (stopped at ep. 35)
Get Backers
Samurai Champloo 1-?
Samurai 7 1-?
Fruits Basket
Bo-bobo Bo-bobobo 1-?

I wanna start watching One Piece again, especially now that 4Kids has the sub and I'll never see it in its purest form if it comes to America. Lucky for us, Kaizoku has no qualms with subbing it...

Posted on 08-17-04 12:02 AM, in SMWWhich of these Mario games has the best level design? Link
Easily SMB3. It was really the only Mario game in the series that didn't just focus on running left and right through the levels. You would have to at times fly everywhere, go downward through the levels, up through pipes, swim, jump, fight, everything. SMW had narrower levels, more running, more fighting, less thinking, less swimming. It was prettier than SMB3, but it lacked the innovation that SMB3 had. SMB3 really is the best Mario game period, for everything. Even wth the NES's sound chip, it still produced catchy music too....

Another interesting side note is that in some of SMB3's levels, I actually found myself having to pause and think about what I should do next...

Blue: "Hardly."

Blue then sits smugly in his own lawn chair, knowing full well that he just saved Red's ass for what must be the 40th time. Red should be back up in a few rounds.

Oh, awesome man! Thanks a lot for that patch link, I've been wanting to play Rudras for awhile. And I found Live a Live too. That's another one you could try, I know I'm going to.

As for Morrowind, that one belongs to the kind of audience that can stand needlessly long travelling times and fighting the same annoying monsters over and over again. However, the exploration element in it is top notch, you could play it religiously for over a year, like I did, and still not find everything. Searching ruins, collecting awesome equipment (some of which you cannot use because you're a giant kitty...), and beating up random people definitely has its charm.

OOC: Jarukoth, I actually took Red out of the fight because I'm going to be inactive for a few days, he'll "Recover" from his stunned status when I get back, my parents are going on vacation so I won't have as much access to my computer as I normally do. Plus, you'd tear Blue to shreds.

OOC: We're gonna have to put this fight on hold for a few days, my parents are going out of town, so I won't be as active as I normally am until at least friday. I'm sorry about this, but when I get back I'll be able to continue. This fight isn't over yet, and I wanna see how it turns out! Just don't forget about it, I'll be on for long enough to post by the weekend.

Argh, I have some reservations against going back. There's one person in particular that I'm afraid I'll never be able to see again once I go back to school, and a plethora of annoying people that I'm going to have to deal with once I do go back. Not only that, but I was too lazy this summer to bother doing the things that I was planning on doing, and I'm afraid my laziness may overtake me on schoolwork (which has never been the case before, despite my questionable work ethic in the past).

Even futuristic games for some reason make you sleep. Take a look at Fallout. Although I STILL can't quite figure out how to take a rest in between encounters, I'm 99% sure that you have to.
