Kalar sat on his log, as the campfire tales took place in a very literal form. With Janus still MIA, and Grey refusing to look for him, Kalar and Garro had decided to start up a small campfire on the roof of the SF complex. Garro was still recovering from his bout with Metal. Grey was brooding. Kalar was hungry. In any case, the crew had gotten a little bored, and so they decided to start telling each other stories about their pasts and the crazy junk they did before heading off to the battles. It seems like a cheap setup for a story, but I swear it's not. We're gonna have some fun with this, too. Expect commentary. Garro: "Come on, Dracoon... Don't tell me that's all you have." |

Not a bad idea: Except that we'd have to engineer it so that it brought up open, relevant, current, and NON-nonsensical polls, the opposite of which we seem to have an excessive amount of. |

I'm not saying it was crap, by no means am I saying it was a bad game, I just like other ones more. Like Metroid II and Fusion. I have an order established: Metroid II > Metroid Fusion > Super Metroid > Metroid Prime > Metroid Zero Mission > Original > Metroid Prime 2 So yeah, Super's kinda a middle of the road game for me. Honestly, I liked the challenge of Metroid II more and the darkness of the plot of Fusion. Then again, I also didn't really finish Super Metroid. I think if I had done that, then I would have more of an appreciation for it. So.... *goes to class, comes home and boots up ZSNES*

Grey, however, had another question. He set up a small projector screen, with badly drawn stick figure animations of a figure with a large afro punching a block. "I got a question, though. See, this is me. This is me punching along on the obstacle that I had to kill last round to get that Zap Tap badge. When I knocked it down,(at this point the picture switches to the figure doing several disco-based victory poses with the crumbled obstacle at his feet) I got my prize instantly, as opposed to having to claim it. Now (camera cuts to picture of stick-figure-Grey hurling his O-Bomb, which was represented by a Times New Roman capital O leaving his hand) when I threw my O-Bomb at that HP obstacle, I understand that allowed me to bypass the obstacle and instantly get my prize. The question here is that if a regular obstacle requires nothing more than an attack to get through, and that's your turn, and THEN you get it next turn, why was I able to get that Zap Tap badge instantly upon felling the Attack Obstacle? Shouldn't I have had to wait another turn to get it? And if not, doesn't that make obstacles, regular obstacles, redundant?" Evan was a whirlwind of fist and foot, as he hurled himself toward the barrier and was thrown back just as easily. He kicked up to his feet, and clenched his fist. A bolt of lightning circulated around it, which he forced into a ball and hurled at Shen. As he threw, he leapt into the air and came down with an axe kick that released still more lightning, this time in a downward, slashing arc. "Stun Edge!!!"

He dropped to the ground like a stone, and pushed up to his hands and knees. Evan was NOT most people. "I'm.... not.... wasting my life...." He crawled toward Shen, clearly on the brink of defeat. "You can't... lose what you don't..." That odd purple light surrounded him again as he took a gamble... "Have!" He slammed his fist into the ground, and disappeared instantly, reappearing next to Shen and trying to grab her with his chaos-infused fist! What it would do, he wasn't exactly sure, especially considering her affiliation with Soul energy, but he had to try SOMETHING...

Garro: "I.........." Grey: "Neither is Metal. He's coming in for the finish. You're both very weak. At this point, it's almost certain that if you don't act, he's going to kill you. Do you want to die? Knowing what you know, do you want to die?" Garro: "N...no...." Grey: "Then get up. Shoot him once, Garro. That's all you have to do." Garro: "Y...yes..." Garro forced himself to his feet. Grey was right, there was Metal, walking right toward him. Garro reached for his revolvers. He glared at Metal with the look of a man backed into a corner as he checked his ammunition. One bullet left. How ironic. It was almost as though the match was meant to play out that way. No time to reload. Just time to do one thing. He took the loaded pistol, and holstered the empty one. He held the pistol in both hands, brought it up to his mouth, and kissed it, very lightly. It began to glow... (thinking): 'Just one shot. That's all it'll take. Look at him. Armor's shot. Hands're shot. Arms're shot. He'll shock us both to death if I don't do this.' Garro felt adrenaline course through his blood. No prayers could help him now. He couldn't help but think that the only way out of this involved one person surviving this match. He pointed the pistol at Metal, and it glowed a little more... 'Gotta stop thinking about it, and let my instincts guide me... Let them tell me what to do...' (edited by Green on 10-12-05 06:57 PM)
