Janus: "Schwa, it's simple... The chao are input/output beings. That means that whatever you put into them will eventually come out in their own way. Look at the Chao that Dracoon hugged, even the slightest bit of affection or anger can turn the balance. It's getting brighter and brighter already. Eventually, enough love and affection may give us a way to reverse the process. Stacice, if you'll kindly keep up the good work, and maybe turn things up a notch? We need the experiment to continue to see if my hypothesis is correct..." Janus motioned to the girl, who held the now-considerably more relaxed Dark Chao in her hands. He wondered....

CRACKA-BOOM!!!! Garro didn't even have time to respond as the blue sphere of light enveloped him. His eyes widened as his concentration was broken to pieces by Schwa's final attack, with the othe two attacks doing nothing more than bringing him closer and closer to complete vulnerability to the move. Knocked off his feet, Garro was sent flying across the black room and slammed into a wall as the blue sphere continued to press down on him... ....And suddenly, it dispersed, along with the white cross that kept Ex stuck in Garro's evil grasp. Kalar: "No!" Distracted for a moment from his stare-down with Janus, Kalar whipped around and could do nothing more than watch, wide-eyed (and with a quick, instinctive tinge of red) and full of wonder as his ally was blown into the wall and completely out of commission. Janus: "Yes!" Janus knew it deep inside him: This was the moment. He brought his hammer to his side, dashing like a lightning bolt past Kalar, swinging his hammer and leaving behind nothing more than a clean trail of blue light. Instantly, Janus moved from one side of Kalar to the other, following through perfectly on his hit with Kensai-like precision. "It's over, Kalar. You and Garro lose." He leaned his hammer on his shoulder and stood upright. His back was to the cold-blooded killer as that deadly scythe clattered to the ground. Kalar sank to his knees and dropped to the floor, losing consciousness even before his eyes closed. When the blue glow from Schwa's attack faded, Garro was in a similar position, his coat charred, hat burnt, and clothes in tatters. There was no need for a finishing blow; they were done for the day. Or so Janus thought: Garro suddenly showed signs of life, his legs and arms twitching as he tried to get up, his body numbed from the devastating assault. Garro: "....o.....ok.... I.... I give up.... You win......" Janus kept his guard up still; he didn't trust Garro, and this scene looked awfully familiar. Janus: "Another trick, Garro?" Garro: "No... No, definitely not... You've beaten us badly." He picked himself up, and barely had the strength to snap his fingers, returning his clothes to their former immaculate state. He stumbled toward Janus, and laid his hand upon Janus' shoulder. Janus drew back in anger and surprise, but Garro persisted. "Trust me, Janus... You... You have my blessing..." He then slumped to the ground, falling into a deep sleep. Looks like he'll be up in a few hours, Janus thought. That doesn't leave us much time to get out of here. Janus: "Schwa, I dunno what you just did, but he's been floored. Looks like he's napping, too. I gotta tell you, it's good to have you back." He trudged to his folded-arm friend and took his hand, then embraced him in a strong, brotherly hug. "It's definitely good to have you back."

As he flies toward Allaura, the flames take on the form of a large bird, and Allaura finds herself staring down a gigantic wall of fire that rushes toward her. "Now show me power! Phoenix Rusher!!!" Grey and his Chao continued to frolick and play. Eventually, The Turtles' "So Happy Together" begins playing as they do so. It's becoming sorta sick, actually... "....It looks like Grey's already started us off. There's not much else I can say other than to just get to it, people. I don't think this is a risky move at all, so long as our true emotions shine through. In fact, I'm looking forward to it. I just need to find a chao of my own."

Janus: "Argh... What a headache..." His body ached all over, and he could swear there was a trickle or two of blood coming from his forehead that sealed itself up almost instantly. He sat up and glanced around. It was extremely cold, that was for sure. Ice, snow, blizzards all around, and not a sign of civilization in sight. Garro and Kalar lay beside him, both conscious in their miserably cold clothes, both glaring at him, still weak from Schwa's assault. "This is..." Garro: "It's... Siberia... Somehow we... ended up here..." Kalar: "I'm.... really cold...." Janus: "Hang on, I'll see what I can do... Red's Fire!!!" The flames burned from Janus' body, and a radius of snow was melted around them. It'd do well for warmth at this point, so long as they stayed within about five feet of him. Though, in the case of Garro and Kalar, that might be more dangerous than anyone else. "....There, that should keep us warm for a while. Now, we need to find a way out of here, and figure out where to go next. We're going to have to work together to survive, and it's already been pretty much established that you two aren't as big of a threat as you might think, so I'd advise you not to try anything stupid. Consider me your ally for now, got it?" The two haggard villains nodded as they brought themselves to a sitting position. Wet, cold, and with a small source of heat, what else could they do? Allaura slams into Grey, and though she bounces right off, Grey is thrown backward by the blow and falls to the ground, skidding on his feet toward his mana pool. Now was probably the time. Forgetting about his Magic cards for the time being, Grey waved his hand, dispersed his mana pool, and put the deck back in his pocket. No sense in using that stuff now. Grey: "And of course, you've already shown me..." Assuming she's back on the ground at this point, Grey dashes toward Allaura, and looks quite like he's about to hit her with a ground-splitting earthquake punch that should hurt a heck of a lot when it hits (and it will), until he gets about two inches from her, and Allaura realizes he's not going to hit her. "....beauty." Hoping she's put up some kind of defense at this point, Grey penetrates it by completely blowing away any intent he had of hurting her with one single action. A kiss. As William fell towards him, Grey raised his palm and concentrated hard, protruding from his thoughts a wall of force that kept William suspended in the air long enough for him to move out of the way, and bring the wall around William to actually increase the speed of his descent, throwing him toward the ground. Grey then slams his palm on the ground, and more bolts of electricity circle around his hand as the earth next to where William would presumably be landing rises up and throws itself at where he should be, in a crushing wave of liquid marble.

Still filled with fear, still shaking, still hoping to whatever gods out there exist that he'd survive this battle in one piece, the long-coated civil mercenary prayed and prayed that his foe didn't see him, even though he had made his presence so obviously known. There was no real way out here, Janus would make sure of that, but the detective was so reluctant to battle that everything seemed to him a formality, rather than an action against his opponent. Arena battles always unnerved him, he was a poor fighter, he got seasick, whatever excuse the detective could think of simply wouldn't work at this point. Approaching APH from behind, the detective tapped him on the shoulder. "I'm supposed to fight you?"

After a few seconds of rubbing his jaw, Grey notes the balls coming toward him and claps his hands together. He then drops to his knees and presses his hands to the ground as electricity swirls around them. From the earth he raises a long, wooden shaft that widens as it approaches its tip, ending up about two and one half-feet long. He takes the baseball bat and smacks the red beachball of ether away, following through on his swing by turning a full circle and allowing the second ball to pass by him. Finally, he drops down, picks up a rock, immediately gets back to his feet, and hurls it at Allaura. As it flies toward her, Grey snaps his fingers and the rock explodes into a gigantic cloud of dust. Obviously, vision cover is useless against Psi Warriors, but Grey's got a few other things planned... "I'd have to say it was pretty worth doing." (restricted) |
