Posted on 06-06-05 07:14 PM, in I've calculated Mario's height and speed Link
Mario also only grows bigger when he eats a mushroom. It could be that he was really just small at the time regardless of the frog suit. In Smash Brothers he is a little taller than pikachu, and grows taller when he does his pose, doubling in size, representing the eight foot tall super mushroom size. Not only that, but pikachu's size is greatly exaggerated because he needs to be greatly exaggerated or else he's gonna end up getting stepped on.

And Leg, the word "vagina" holds plenty of meaning to me.

EDIT: And if he weighs 500 pounds, that certainly explains why he can smash things into the ground by jumping on them.

I wonder why that doesn't happen in Smash Brothers? They should have incorporated that into his character.

So many new staffers.... And I got promoted, somehow or another.

The power's..... Kinda iffy. I dunno if this was such a good idea, but you know, it's always good to have a lot of people helping out, especially when certain people (READ: ME BECAUSE MY INTERNET IS DED) can't be here all the time.

I wonder if the roleplaying forums haven't gone to hell while I was out...

Janus: "Auugh!"

His hardiness was tested thoroughly by the constant onslaught. Though he just barely managed to continue his scan by throwing himself to the ground and watching the wrench fly overt his head, no sooner had his eyes glowed azure than did the bullets come flying at him, ripping his suit and tearing holes in his skin, passing through him and leaving gaping exit wounds. His blood slathered the dirty terrain in red, and he collapsed to the ground, the disc of Saga Frontier shattering in mid-scan. There was no way he'd garner what he wanted from it now...

The familiar darkness of death overtook his eyes, and all seemed lost. The familiar white light that he was to go towards, where he would stay in limbo until his body regenerated. Or so he thought.

"Lay On Hands: Regen!!!"

A pair of white gloved hands, belonging to Garro, had pressed themselves against his bloody skin, filling him with life once again. Of all people, Garro would be the least likely to do this, but there was a time and a place for everything.

Garro: "Janus, I won't take over this fight for you...."

The bullets continued to fly at them as Garro placed a shield of white light around them. Evil had its purposes every now and then, and User Grey was really being a prick today. Janus regenerated in a few seconds, and the bullets lodged in his organs fell to the ground. Not fully healed, but at least he wasn't bleeding profusely anymore. Janus looked up...

Janus: "You.... Saved me?"

Garro: "Don't think of it as saving. Take this, you'll need it."

Garro stood, and the white light stood with him as he removed his coat and tossed it on the ground around Janus. It was bulletproof, for a small part at least. Those Gauss machine guns turned Janus into a pile of giblets in a few seconds, so Garro was a little unsure of what to do with his coat, but every little bit helped. There was more, though... Bundled in the coat was a small white pyramid, care of Agent Blue, and a Trigun-esque pistol that Janus instinctively knew belonged to the Detective.

"You'll get by... With a little help from your friends. God, you're an arrogant little bastard for thinking you could do this all yourself."

Janus: "I... am...."

He staggered to his feet and wrapped Garro's coat around him as Garro snapped his fingers, returning instantly to the spectator's booth. In the pocket of the coat, Janus found another small device, a tiny, lightsaber-sized steel rod. He looked at the booth, and Kalar raised an eyebrow from far away. Interesting...

"I guess... when you need help, it doesn't hurt to ask..."

Garro: "Ah, Janus? You might want to watch out!"

The priest's yell caught Janus' attention as the shield of white was let down, leaving Janus entirely vulnerable to the attacks of the nine Melvins once again. His friends... They'd definitely help him, if only he asked...

Janus: "Thanks.... guys..."

-----------------------------

In his office, User Grey smiled.

UGrey: "Heh, he's got it."

UGrey snapped his fingers as well, and disappeared into nothingness, ready for one final plot change...

Shaken out of his calculus-driven daze by the loud clanging of the second bell, Kalar snapped to attention and stared at his schedule....

Grey: "Who the heck is this guy?"

Neiderhaussermeier...?

He trundled off to the class, turning the schedule sideways and upside down, trying to see if there was an easier way to read the damn name....

Posted on 06-16-05 11:12 PM, in Apparently I've been here for a year. But there's another purpose to this thread, I promise. Link
Hrm, it's the 16th of June, one year since I registered here. I'm now a fullmod and an active roleplayer. Throughout the last year I've been a senior in high school, gained (and very recetnly broke up with) a girlfriend, destroyed my social life, lost my internet, and learned how to write. Everything is rebuilding as I write this, and I'm hoping the next year is a pretty good one, now that all of my troubles are more or less gone.

What did a year here do for you? And if you haven't been here for a year, then what do you expect to be doing when a year comes?

OOC EDIT: Thanks for the Trigun reference, btw. I was wondering what it was based off of. Is that what the text on the side of the gun says?

Janus: "Hello, little fellow. Are you here to blow me up, too?"

-----------------------------
UGrey: "He won't get a chance..."

User Grey walked through the catacombs of the Sim Battle Arena Annex, a small slip of paper that read "EVICTION NOTICE" lodged in his hands as he watched the fight from a small floating television that had materialized in front of him as he walked. Turning left suddenly, he entered a small chamber that housed a strange glass pod with a control panel beside it. He looked to the panel and entered in a secret sequence of numbers and letters. It was nearly time for the change. He was tired of just being "User" Grey...

------------------------------

Janus: "Or perhaps you'll shoot at me?"

Janus, now clad in Garro's coat, placed the artifacts in the coat's pockets. He finally recognized his need for help, and he was grateful to his friends for finally providing it, as well. This was it for him...

"It really doesn't matter that much to me, I'm pretty much ready for anything at this point. Considering I've been shot at, blown up, lacerated, and attacked with a giant wrench, there's only two things I've got left to expect, and with the help of my friends, I know I can overcome whatever you've got to offer!"

It was then, of course, that a terrifying realization hit Janus...

"Wait a second, I just monologued..."

Which meant User Grey wasn't at his desk...

OOC: OK, finally, I am finally permanently connected to the internet once again. Sorry guys, I really didn't mean to be away for so long. Let's get the ball rolling again...

Ex: "I still feel a bit tired... but I'm sure I can still take you!... if you still wish to fight after seeing my power, that is."

Garro grinned menacingly at Ex. This was nothing, as long as Dark Phoenix was protecting him...

Garro: "Are you kidding? You'll never be able to stop me at this level. I've seen all of you in action from another set of eyes, and I can say that out of all of you, there's only four people who'd even stand a chance against me..."

He placed his guns in his coat. There wasn't really any need to use them to excess, it tended to get boring after a while. Instead, he pulled out the same small, black book he used to read Janus' rites.

"Two of them are too preoccupied with annihilating each other to even bother with me, and I blew another one of them away!"

He flipped through the pages... The correct prayer was in there somewhere.

"And the fourth? Well, he doesn't seem to be coming back any time soon..."

Kalar dropped into a stance almost instantly at the suggestion, never needing a reason to have a straight duel. Of course, Star would never even know if he cheated, anyway...

Kalar: "Sure, it's your funeral!"

The broadsword was instantly transformed back into Kalars original scythe. With the reach advantage, Kalar knew he'd at least be able to hold him off until Garro finished dealing with Ex.

A sweatdrop escapes Grey's forehead as he sees his second Mystery Item appear beside him... His eye twitches for a second, and he cracks one of them open before moving like the wind to Square 16, unsheathing a katana that was conveniently strapped to his back and hacking away at the obstacle that lay before him.

Garro didn't look up from his studies...

Garro: "Yeah, yeah, being of Darkness, destined to serve, evil, yadda yadda...."

He then nonchalantly drew one of his guns and it glowed white. He pulled the trigger, and NeoBowser was greeted with a wide blast of completely pure holy energy, which would probably take a good chunk out of any innate Dark Defenses the evil godlike fellow had to offer.

"Nothing Dark about that, Bowsie."

That prayer had to be around here somewhere...

OOC: Zerodius.... Most Final Fantasy games actually explicitly include an attack called "Holy" that the generic white mages learn very late in the game. It's on the level of your "Omega Level" techniques in power, and it's considered the strongest attack in most FF games out there, or at least one of them. It's an attack that does just that: Holy damage. One massive explosion of an element that blows enemies away, unless of course they are Holy element themselves... Most undead are sensetive to it, but obviously anything that dies is mortal... and lots of stuff dies when it's hit by holy attacks.

Then, of course, there's the Castlevania games, which involve the use of holy weaponry against the forces of both undead and mortal that just happen to be twisted by dark powers, much like Neobowser.

I'm also sure I wouldn't want to be shot by John Constantine's blessed shotgun.

Grey: "You're Allaura, right? Schwa's girlfriend?"

His voice sounded as though it was far away, but his footsteps sounded like they were right next to her...

A warm hand touched her shoulder. The arm it was attached to was not toned, was indeed a bit scrawny. Its owner's face was scholarly... what could have been a beard covered it, but the facial hair was trimmed far too often to be considered anything more than a growth. Glasses covered soft brown eyes that had no pierce to them at all, like dead spheres of wood below a shaggy matting of dark hair.

He was not exceptionally tall, nor exceptionally attractive. His build was not medium, indeed it was racked with the ravages of what seemed like anorexia, but lacked physical activity. His clothes were plain, sewn by a steel machine run several countries away by a laborer, and bought from a manufacturer's outlet with no exceptional endowments to them. Cargo pants, button-down shirt, long, thin coat. Just a boy to anyone that didn't know him.

He stepped around to Allaura's front and bends over just a bit, cocking his head to the side and wiping her tears away with a lone finger. They glisten as they fall to the ground, and the empty silence is broken once again by his voice, not deep or heroic, but also soft, and indeed a little effeminate...

"My name is Tom. Around here, though, everyone seems to call me Grey. Especially Schwa."

He takes his coat off and offers it to Allaura...

"It's a bit too chilly out tonight to be alone. Care for some company?"
