Janus: "Kickin'."

He was expecting some kind of projectile attack. Using the mud for leverage, Janus bends backwards and catches the halberd as it flies over his head. It feels a bit heavy, but he uses it to clear out a bit of mud before he can sink any deeper. In a few seconds he has managed to dig himself free of the mud. Janus steps out, wipes some of the mud from the halberd and from his pants, walks over to Tawq, and hands him his weapon-turned-digging tool.

"Thanks, I needed that. An arrow would have done nicely, but whatever works. You might want this back, though. Sorry if its a bit dirty."

Janus then walks over to the bulge in the earth, thrusts his hand into the ground, searches around a bit, and pulls out his hammer, caked with mud but otherwise unharmed.

*sigh* "This is gonna be hell on my cleaning bill. Well then, shall we continue?"

Janus waits for Tawq to get ready to fight again.

I thought Mario Sunshine wasn't too challenging. Or Mario 64. For some reason, as we get into more and more advanced technology, more time is spent on making the games pretty than it is making them challenging. I really have yet to find a current game that's actually hard and not hard because it controls like crap or something like that.

God damn I hated that fight so much. It got even worse afterwards, because I still took damage from Wiegraf's attacks, killed him in one hit, and THEN had to fight with Ramza in injured condition in close proximity to various dangerous monsters with no real healers on my team (being a blaster, I was of course equipped with a double sword samurai, a lancer, and a summoner. And Agrias.), so that was a fun fight. I also disliked fighting Elmdor and his two assassin ladies, but fortunately I realized that if you take one out they all run away like sissies.

As for skills all doing damage, I just veer away from the damage part of that. In order to make the game more challenging, my team consisted of a Gunner, a Red Mage, a White Monk/Templar, a Fighter, and Marche. Only once in awhile would I really let loose on my opponents, and then it was a competition to see who could do the most damage, but nuking people is fun too. My current record stands at about 860 or so from Pallanza's Ultima Sword attack, but I'm sure Marche has done more with double sword.

And for the mage thing, that would be why I never targeted individual units, in case they moved. Only if I had instant cast opportunities would I do so, and if it was one squire vs. one mage, then the mage's cast time WOULD be instant, because charging is base 100, and after the squire executes a move it'd have to charge to 100 again. While I'm not 100% sure, I believe the speed engine in FFT is how many units in one interval a unit charges (IE a unit with 9 speed and 6 speed will charge 9 units and 6 units respectively), and whoever hits 100 first gets the first shot. Therefore the mage would be able to cast before the squire came over and tried to suicide it. And Half MP really helps with those summons sucking up MP. I did, however, find it very interesting that the people you begin with in FFT as chemists (thus paving the way to be mages) had really low or below average Faith. That'd be why I usually had more fighters than mages.

Also, I thought Mustadio was the only engineer? I never really used him that much, didn't see the point in it since my other characters were already stronger than him when he became a permanent character. The only two story characters I actually used were Agrias and Orlandu (and Worker 8 if I got him, but he's not really a story character anyway).

(1,1), (2,851), (3, 14663), (4, 110647), (0, -1), (-1, -13), (-2, -917), (-3, -15619).

To get it, you just plug 8 different X values into the equation and multiply it out.

In hindsight, that probably would have been easier if I had just tabled it on a calculator...

Yeah, I mean it's blatantly obvious the guy just macroed up mario's movements and executed them autonomously. There's a whole series of time attack videos for a bunch of NES games. There's the Lost Levels one, the Super Mario Brothers one, the Castlevania one, they're all just as impressive as that 11 minute SMB3 video and they're all macroed. I really think the point was to challenge gamers to try to beat the best that a computer can turn out...

I had dialup for four years, then just got cable now, and now my mom wants to switch out of cable. This presents a problem for me, as pretty much the only thing I do all day is download and watch anime. However, rather than get 56K again, I've managed to convince her to switch to DSL instead. I really don't want to go back to 56K, I can't stand it, especially AOL. And what's worse, there's all of those low cost ISPs nowadays like Juno.com or Earthlink, they suck, and they're raping so many people of their money by saying it's just 10 dollars a month, but it's not even worth 10 dollars a month!

Yep, I gotta get DSL.

You don't think I tried that already? My mother's a very hard headded person, and she doesn't think I can pay it, despite the fact that even with the spare money I make (IE pocket change and stuff) I could pay for broadband myself. I've just barely convinced her to let me go half and half on DSL; broadband at this point would be impossible. And as for signing up or my own account, I'm not 18 yet, and if she found out that I was going behind her back to subscribe of my own accord, I'd never hear the end of it. I'm fine with DSL though, so long as she lets me pay for a little of it.

Janus: "You look a bit bewildered there, friend. Wondering why I'm being so chivalrous?"

Janus swings his hammer for a deflection, but falls inches short, causing the flat of the halberd to whack him in the arm. Bruised, he backs off.

"Your anger is directed at people on the whole; you need to learn the kindness of the individual. Talk to me!"

Janus races forward, executing a sliding tackle through the mud at Tawq, delivering a chopping horizontal blow aimed at Tawq's abdomen as he skids between Tawq's legs. If it hits, the blow will knock Tawq to the ground, pinned by the hammer, at which point Janus will swing to his feet and deliver a blow to Tawq's head.

Man, I'm beginning to sound like a Nazi...

And yeah, Undieable is a word. It combines the un prefix, which negates, with the word die, which means to die, thus negating death. And finally it adds the -able suffix, which gives an ability to. Thus, un-die-able negates one's ability to die.

From the ground, Janus springs to his feet, clearly angry with Tawq.

Janus: "My kind, my kind, you keep saying I belong to this detestable race! Judge not upon looks alone, lest I show you what I truly am!"

Janus runs up to Tawq, and delivers a flurry of quick slashes with his hammer. Considering the weight of the hammer, Janus' speed in wielding it is surprising, and much faster than anyone of his size should normally be able to wield such a weapon. Beginning with an overhead strike, Janus is attempting to break through his opponent's defense, and is starting to aim directly for Tawq's shield on occasion, trying to fight with non-lethal blows.

"They have taken your way of life from you, and I am here to give it back!"

OOC: Oh, I don't taste good. Very tough and stringy.

Janus: "I can match your strength with my speed any day, which is why I come to you with an offer! If I cannot learn of your magic, then assist me as an ally to my cause."

Janus throws the hammer high into the air, leaps up and stands upon it, looking down to Tawq.

"For years I have known of the bloodthirsty attitude of the human race. I have seen it with my eyes. They kill for entertainment, people gather in crowds to watch structures be blown up, one of the highest highs they get is from seeing brightly colored explosions in the skies!"

"I have preached to you before and asked you to consider the individual over the whole. I have seen the whole, and now seek out individuals who exist outside the whole of humanity to help me bring them down and show them the error of their ways, to help me extinguish the evil ones and leave the good ones to restore our world to its former glory, to its former livelihood, instead of letting it fall victim to the human need for luxury and ease!"

With that statement, Janus leaps off of his hammer, grabs onto the handle, and executes another whirling hammer throw at Tawq, sailing straight over his head and going around in a boomerang arc to attack him from behind. As Janus lands on the ground, he reaches into his pocket, but pauses, saying, "No, I shouldn't." Instead, he stands up, ready to catch his hammer on the return trip.

"Let me prove my power to you, so that you can give aid to me!"

Janus catches his hammer, and prepares another attack.

Janus: "You're beginning to sound less and less like an enemy, and more and more like a friend. If that is the case, show me what you can do!"

Janus holds out his hammer with both hands, and begins spinning around quickly, generating a whirlwind of dust, rain, and mud. Dirty, but effective. Janus leaps out of the whirlwind, but his hammer is still inside. Using his control of the hammer, Janus sends the whirlwind flying towards Tawq, yelling, "Tornado!" as he sends it.

"Let's step things up a bit!"

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Valcion Empire wholeheartedly supports alternative lifestyles, and wil proudly accept them into our fold.

Also; Several new rules are now in effect for the Valcion Empire. Existing members WILL be banned for the following:

Spelling the word "the" as either hte, teh, or eth.
Using the terms "LOL", "OMG", you in the form of "u".
Obvious spelling incorrections, including, but not limited to you're as your, or vice versa, using improper grammar, using more than ten consecutive exclamation points to end a sentence.
One word posts, extremely long posts with almost no content (EG separating each line with a space), large and unruly layouts that not only detract from actual content but encourage the viewing of said layout above the actual content.

All members will be required to install a special program that indicates their exact online presence, location, and identification.
Upon installation of the program, the Valcion Empire will begin logging all of your visited websites, including all pornographic websites, webcomics, obscene flash videos, informational sites, anti-Valcion propaganda sites, and any sites hosted off of a mainstream ISP (EG. The program will soon be available for download at the official Valcion Empire website. Until then, we encourage you to practice your goose stepping, make demonstrations in the streets in favor of our lord and master, and to strike fear into the hearts of your friends by wearing his vaunted image upon your shirts.
