Man, this is gonna be fun. This thread's for NFL, the other one's for footy. Will people be able to tell the difference?

Even if I had my TV and enough outlets to plug everything in, hooking up all my consoles would be a nightmare. You try finding a switcher that can handle, oh, five RF inputs and output A/V.

I was going to get it, but I was too busy looking for the limited edition one (which isn't worth it) to get it while it was on sale. So I ripped my girlfriend's copy. Me likeeeee.

It should be noted that the original version of "Diamonds (From Sierra Leone)" doesn't have the knowledge-dropping. Just the remix with Jay-Z.

Oh, and the skits don't suck, by the way. "This brother has been eating EVERY. DAY. Can you believe that?"

I reject your assertion regarding "Lazy Day", Rydain, and replace it with my own. That title goes to "Inside Out" by the Mighty Lemon Drops.

Oh, and I just snagged a bunch of stuff recently, but the winner is the soundtrack for 200 Cigarettes. Why is that? For the Harvey Danger cover of "Save It for Later"? The Blondie medley ("Rapture"/"Maria"/"No Exit")? Or is it for... track #8?

Why yes, it wins JUST because Girls Against Boys cover "Boogie Wonderland".

Other buys include:
* Dressy Bessy: "Electrified"
* Catherine Wheel: "Like Cats and Dogs" (also WINNAR)
* Supergrass: "Life on Other Planets", "Hear Are the Young Men" (1995 bootleg from Glastonbury and Sound City Bristol)
* Frente!: "Shape"

Wurl: Classy, I must say, regarding the old mascot. Didn't I do something on this topic? Oh yeah, I did.

ANYWAY. The reason for the article is the high school I cover is the Indians. But is coo because the logo (profile head) is historically accurate regarding the local Native Americans. My old high school was the Spartans, because it's always intimidating to go by the city-state that met its end at the mouth of a giant wooden fucking horse.

(College was the Braves, which meant they MUST change it on the eve of our first national TV appearance. And not come up with a new one in time, meaning we were the... uhm, College. Wait, we were University then. And again, tasteful depiction, as the motif was crossed arrows. Now they're the Bobcats, which we all know are native to south central Connecticut.)

EDIT:
They cut down your mascot to make a parking lot. Lmao.

Nuh-uh. They paved over paradise, put up a parking lot.

(In related news, listen to Joni Mitchell.)

Oh, the Indians school colors are maroon and white, and my old high school's green and white. Reeeeeeal original.

re: Lilmario:

That's cute, he's trying to prove to 50 Cent he's a thug. AWWWW.

(Editor's note: The above may have been an excuse to quote Yukmouth's "Game Ova", which pisses all over "Internet thug" the Game.)

Seriously, I'm seeing the blowing-up-in-Nintendo's-face potential dropping like a rock. Keep the name so it'll live up to the controller.

I live next door to the Univerity of Illinois, a school affected by this debate. We have Chief Illiniwek as our mascot. At half time he dances around. It's exciting, but I can easily see how that could be taken as racist. Our name, the Fightin' Illini, is not all that offensive. It is not an outright racial slur like the Redskins, or as a nearby school was called until 1985, the Chinks. You canmake a reasonable argument for a name being reasonable, but with a mascot dancing around and the like, it's easy to see how people get offended.

Does the tribe/local Native American population generally think it's okay? If so, it is reasonable. This came up around my coverage area (if you'd read the article, you'd know what I mean) and it turned out that while the mascot was the Indian (and still is) it was done as historically accurately as possible. The natives were primarily farmers, and any logos et al. reflect that.

Now, the Red Raiders, on the other hand... (shoots Derby in its metaphorical head)

Now to look for more of their music. XD

Eh, that's sort of the same deal as I have with Garmarna. Not a clue what "Gamen" (I think that's it) is all about, but I saw the video on some overblown public access channel in Washington, DC when I was there, and me likee the folk-gone-Prodigy sound.

np (well, not right NOW but when I get back in the car): Notorious BIG/Frank Sinatra: "Juicy/New York, New York"

Ones who aren't intrigued by Blue Eyes Meets Bed-Stuy can't get in. It's another mash-up album, this one pairing Biggie Smalls' vocals over Frank Sinatra songs. And, like The Gray Album, it isn't just a straight vocals-over-instrumental effort, as the guy who did it makes beats from the song. Only complaint? It's TOO SHORT. He only uses one verse from "Juicy", and the song's but two minutes.
