Well, why watch them? Regarding chronically inept teams, at least the Reds have Adam Dunn, while the Devil Rays have an assload of positional prospects, especially in the outfield. Royals? Nothin'.

Not long. The idea when they elected him was that he'd be a transitional pope, unlike Jay Pee 2.

Y'all know they probably aren't going to recycle GBA hardware for all eternity, right? This'll probably be it for that platform.

Because there's still a bit more room to pile on:

When the first GameBoy Advance came out, one of the main features was backwards-compadability. They held true to that with the second GBA, the GameBoy Advance SP.

Backwards compatibility was a big selling point then. Now? Not so much. Besides, the SP was sooner and, oh, guess what, fixing OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE GBA. As was stated earlier, the Micro is for people who wouldn't be seen with a GBA or SP. Thus, the design. It's just hitting another market. If you want to get a GBA and want backwards compatibility, you could just get an SP... for $30 LESS.

Well, you, ah, don't. Because they're art installations, you see.

The man behind these pieces is Cory Arcangel, an artist who's created things like a Nintendo iPod (I can't find anything on it) and Super Mario Clouds, a SMB hack that's JUST the clouds. They scroll, of course. He even includes a full disassembly of that one and has some technical info on Camerica mappers (he comes from a programming background and Super Mario Clouds was all done in ASM). Oh yes, and a Super Mario Movie. Both that and Clouds were done on standard-issue SMB carts, with replaced ROMs. You're intrigued, aren't'cha?

Not exactly the MOST recent of books, but anything by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. or Anthony Burgess. You know the latter for A Clockwork Orange.

If you don't loathe sports, Ball Four by Jim Bouton's pretty good. Pissed off the commish, owners, and players but good by telling it how it was.

Ancient, even.

I think it's amusing that it's basically Les Miserables with all the creamy goodness of South Park's worldview.

Guiness book of world records? I didn't know that . I wonder for what.

6 years isn't a long time compared to 10 or 15 so

Well, it's just that at this point, pretty much everyone's heard of it. It's not exactly new.

(grumble grumble like to polish HIS Biggerstaff)

Back in the day, I played soccer and baseball. Didn't care much about baseball (I would if I played now) but I loved me some soccer.

As far as watching? Lacrosse and ice hockey. No, really. I can understand how lacrosse is growing so fast.

I'm guessing the conflict's more Roman Catholic v. various Protestant denominations, yes, Zer0wned? Just look at a few of the statements made by a variety of self-appointed Southern Baptist spokesmen re: the Pope.

And normally, once a hurricane hits land, it will weaken. The stayed a Cat 1 all through Florida. They even thought it would hit my dad on the West Coast of Fla, and it missed. They thought it would then go into the Gulf and then hit the Panhandle, they were wrong again (feels a little like Andrew, actually). And then with the waters so freaking warm, of course it would explode into this insane natural event.

Well, at least when Katrina tagged FL, it could still feed off of the various bodies of water you've got down there, right?

Actually, I think she's living in Mississippi. She did get the hell out of there in time, though. Won't be hearing much from her until she gets her intarwebs back...

Blood and money. The Red Cross is on it, and they should be able to get what they need, assuming there's the proper funds.
