np: Radio Active: "Dead"

If this be math rock, me likee. It's on a fairly obscure Pixies tribute album (simply titled "Tribute to the Pixies"), featuring Japanese artists or at least bands who're big in Japan. The only name I recognized on the track listing was British indie band Seafood (hell, I think they're the only ones on here who AREN'T Japanese, and this was when they were on Fierce Panda). Well, AMG described Radio Active's take on "Dead" as math rock. I'm'a guessing these guys are Japanese, as the singer kinda sounds the part... and they do look Japanese in the pic... and their names are in hiragana in the booklet... oh hell, is it J-math rock or math J-rock? Anyway, someone find me more of their work. STAT.

Not only that, but if you don't know much about what to look for, you can usually rule out a good chunk of the ROM by what's there. Generally, level data isn't mixed in with graphics, so if you open the ROM up in a tile editor, you can find where not to look.

Fuck fuckity fuck fuck McFuckersley.

Wake Forest. As a piece by Mozart was titled, lick my ass.

Good thing I didn't have Kansas or Gonzaga going very far. But Wake, you were going to the Final Four! If Georgia Tech doesn't beat Washington, I will firebomb Albuquerque.

Uncle fucker, UConn lost too. Good thing I only had them going to the Elite Eight.
Oh, and Villanova, Oklahoma State (who I have winning it all) and North Carolina are still winning (which they'd better). Let's see if Vermont can take this one too... they're only down by 10.

They'd better. At least I have three Final Four teams alive.

Oh, and it's time to firebomb Alburqurque... go Louisville!

Considering they're now COMPLETELY dead (I had Wake Forest and Georgia Tech in the Elite Eight)... New Mexico is no longer my concern. See if I care any more.

I think that qualifies.

The thing with the You-Dub Milwaukee picks is that honestly, I have no idea WHY I picked them. Just off of instinct.

Absolutely fucking no. The family's exhausted all available means. That does NOT mean to open up more avenues solely for political gain.

(There's a memo going around the Senate saying that the Schiavo case makes for a perfect issue to knock out a Democratic Senator in Florida. How fucking callous of the far right.)

Maybe it doesn't even mean THAT. Target was selling 'em. Hell, I could've gotten their Trans Am one, but it doesn't mean I know how to change the battery in my car.

Exactly, Reid. The fact that a decent chunk of her brain is now SPINAL FLUID should be a sign that she is just physically incapable of living a functional life any more. Yes, the parents are in denial. But somebody needs to take them aside and explain that no, in fact, she can not survive without racks of devices, ranging from respirators to feeding tubes. Let her die with dignity.

(Oh, and she is not technically brain-dead. Her medulla oblongata still functions, which is being used as evidence to hook her up again. Then again, the tape people are using as proof is heavily edited, as I understand it, not showing that she is responding to stimuli and non-stimuli similarly.)

I think it might help more if the representative for each band was listed alongside the band. Ya know, since the bands were inconsequential for much of the show.

A Dozen Furies, though? Marc gets bonus points for the Lamb of God fiasco, even if he already got rewarded with a pimp-ass mohawk and two bands taking him out.

Ahmad was in for a big ol' shock. Adair was cool, though. Can't believe Ahmad made it as long as he did, besides filling the Obligatory Shit-Stirrer Role.

So I've managed to make the long, hard journey out of the Land of Dial-Up. Got me some DSL (through SBC), and it is good. But there's one tiny problem. When I go to bed, I don't turn my comp off. So sometimes, when I've left my comp on for a while (almost a day straight, usually) I'll have issues. Can't get on the Web, can't get email. But all instant messenger clients will still work. Only way to fix it is to reboot, so I'm sure it's on my end. What could possibly cause this?

I would pay good money to see his reaction to the Lakers getting knocked out of playoff contention tonight. I'd imagine it would be something like this:

Pretty exciting opener for the Yankees and Red Sox today, huh? Shame it was the Yanks with the walkoff homer.

(Editor's note: Not unlike Rocky 5, Sunday night's game NEVER HAPPENED. Wells wasn't our Opening Day starter, it was Clement today. Nosirree.)

Oh, and you forgot to mention the WINNAR of the Steroid Sweepstakes: Alex Sanchez and His Four Career Homers. 38 minor-leaguers got busted too, including Damian "Aren't These Supposed to Be Performance-Enhancing?" Moss. That's just the early returns from teams who had spring training in Arizona, too. Florida teams aren't out yet, but one Cardinals player got caught in the offseason.
