Dammit. Why couldn't the Eagles kick a few field goals, or at least get a safety otherwise? And the Pats should've tacked on one more figgie.

(Full disclosure: In today's Record-Journal, I predicted the final score would be 27-23, Patriots.)

And this wasn't a very inspiring matchup for me. Tired of the Pats and everyone carrying on about their TEAMWORK and SELFLESSNESS and... gimme at least ONE star with some sizzle. However, I am contractually obligated (as a Giants fan) to loathe the Iggles, and the Red Sox comparisons didn't help. (Bahstin went 86 years between titles and they weren't cursed. Jim Kelly's Bills lost four straight. Were they cursed? Nah, just chokers/overmatched. So you, Philly, and your three straight losses in the NFC title game, do not a curse make. You're not even the Braves of the NFC East. You're just another team.)

Oh. We, uhm, never mentioned that, huh?

Minty Fresh should help them out considerably. Not sure what David Wright's defense is like, but Reyes and Matsui should be fine. 'Sides, who'd they have at 1B when they were contenders recently? John Olerud and His Gold Gloves. And Cairo'll be fine as a bench player. He was over his head last year, but he's still adequate.

Oh, this'll be fun. First year I've made enough to have to worry about taxes. Of course, that's including four jobs (one of which sent me a W2 despite the fact I hadn't worked there since three days before Christmas... 2003)... good thing Dad's handling this one. But I gotta learn somehow.

I gotta say it was a good day.

* Catherine Wheel: "Wishville"
* Idlewild: "The Remote Part"
* Kinky: "Kinky", "Atlas"
* Postal Service: "Give Up"
* South: "From Here On In"
* Talk Show: "Talk Show"
* They Might Be Giants: "John Henry"
* Wannadies: "Be A Girl"

AND, in fact, there was not a jacker in sight, either. So that's just a bonus.

(Not because of the CD's, mind you.)

I blame Sprewell y Cassell. It physically could not be any more obvious that they want to get paid NOW.

And Olowokandi, but is it his fault he sucks? ;P

Anyone else having this problem with iTunes (on a PC, mind ye)?

* Pop a CD in.
* Starts scanning tracks, gets track names.
* Does not find them...
* Because the second-to-last track is impossibly long (think 15 hours).

Ran CD diagnostics and... well, here's what I get.

E: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1210A, Rev 1.07
Audio CD in drive.
Found 35 songs on CD, playing time 53:35 on Audio CD.
Track 1, start time 00:02:00

Notice down at the bottom? Track 35 physically can't start before track 34. I sent Apple this... then might've put in the wrong email address (got AIM screen name and email addy confused). Is this fixable?

Football's about $80 million, and basketball... I think it's $50 million or so. I think I heard that when the players offered a cap, they used the NBA's as a starting point.

Anyone see Bettman surviving this once they get a deal done (and they will, as they won't be sacrificing NEXT season too)?

Not gonna happen, unfortunately. G4's calling all the shots... TechTV isn't even in the name any more. Wonder if everyone else feels as alienated as I've seen the online TechTV fanboys.

FreeDOS: I have an iPod. Check and mate. (Yes, I'm sure there's other programs to get music on it, but I'm getting lazy in my old age.)

Jesper: This particular CD's on a small label (these are all store-bought CD's)... it's... uhm, this one: Show & Tell: A Stormy Rememberance of TV Theme Songs. (Todd Bridges plays on a cover of the theme for Diff'rent Strokes. No, really.) But it's happened on other albums, even from major labels. Even before DRM was but a twinkle in the RIAA's eye (this album came out in 1997).

TV's been taken care of, as far as I can tell: NBC has the rights now. (follows the bouncing contract) They're gonna have to make some hardcore rules changes, too. People LOVE hockey as played in the Olympics. Enough thuggeration, let's see some fucking skill. (Oh, and someone take whoever popularized the neutral zone trap out back and shoot 'em. No, not the WHOLE New Jersey Devils franchise, either. There's gotta be one guy to blame.)

Roenick as commish or player rep would Fucking Rule. He'd be like Schwarzenegger as Cali governor (who's now proposing common-sense rules regarding redistricting, but that's another forum). Either that or maybe Trevor Linden (didn't he get both sides talking again?).

Colleen: I think the player's proposal actually included a salary floor, too, which they'd need. You've got to spend a certain amount on your team and not pocket EVERYTHING, which just a cap would do. And the problem with the NBA is it's a luxury tax, not a hard cap. If you want to pay extra to invest more in the team, you'll probably do so.

Scratches don't seem to have any effect. However, although I haven't tried ripping in other programs, I'd suspect they wouldn't have problems. I sent them a bug report, but haven't heard anything back, either.

Be not ashamed, The Dogan. I do too. Although I'm partial to Jay (mostly for his comments on Wendy after the postal uniform competition). Oh, and Nora... because she's from, like, ten minutes away. Not because of the fauxhawk (although that's cool with me too).

Sheeeeeeee-it.

According to his son, gonzo journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson shot himself at home Sunday night. He was 67.

As your local mod (of another forum, but whatever), I advise you to read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. NOW.
