I think this is probably gonna be everyone here, but I do the same thing too. Except the latest I've fallen asleep regularly is almost 5 AM. But I almost HAVE to get up on a regular basis after noon. Even if it means ten hours of sleep, which I do NOT need at this age. (I can function on, say, four.) Maybe because I stayed up late in high school, but nothing of Anyaian proportions.

At this point they're just gonna have to take it, like it, and listen to Bill Simmons next time.

And now I wanna be an Olympian.

(Too bad the only thing I was good enough to even try out for when high school rolled around is volleyball, and I'm a wee bit short for that on this level... and I'm 5'10". )

Stick with reasons one or two. But no three.

On Osama: Personally, I think he's already dead. When will we find out? Late October.

On Lunar Depths: So you'd prefer someone who plods along the same path even when proven wrong to someone who can change their mind when their strategy doesn't work? I can also assure you that those protesters are not the majority of any group. It's like holding up PETA members as examples of how vegans are teh evil. And the oil's probably just a cover for Bush wanting a base of operations to clean out the Middle East. And I'm not referring to terrorism, either.

Raistlin: "Do you think we, hell, ANYBODY, wants to get sent thousands of miles from their homes just to kill people?" Mmhmm. The mouthbreathers who enlisted post-9.11 for the sole purpose of whacking towelheads. Thankfully, no one takes THEM seriously or thinks they make up the majority of the armed forces. But as for soccer, that's one thing I won't hold against those responsible for the war. Uday and Qusay would have been everything Bush had said Saddam is (and was, but hasn't been for ten years). Knew about the atrocities they committed against the Iraqi Olympians for quite a while.

Trunxy seems to get what no one else really does on terrorism. How do you get a beautiful, weed-free yard? Sure, you can pull the weeds. But by feeding your lawn, strengthening it and the grass, you won't get as many weeds. Don't kill the problem and expect it to be gone. Treat the symptoms and the disease will die out.

Zany Golf crushes everything under its pointy, steel cleats. And then putts it into a pinball machine.

It's actually almost playable in XP's version of DOS, too. Just runs really fast.

np: Jadakiss/Anthony Hamilton feat. Common, Styles P, and Nas: "Why (Remix)"

OoooOOOOOOOOOOOH. Tweak the beat a bit, making it a little less jingly and more drum-oriented. Then toss all the original verses (which were good enough on their own merits) and bring in three more MC's who keep going along the same lines. Nas gets Afrocentric, Common gets a bit spiritual and a bit philosophical, Jadakiss references McGreevey and the USA men's basketball team, and Styles P... uhm, shows up? They all ask the questions that some of us have been wondering, others thought about but didn't realize, and few have spoken. Here's Common's verse (yeah, I know I said lyrics don't count, but I'm already detailed enough):

Why do they say I change for a girl
Why you worry about my clothes if I'm'a change the world
Why you wait until you're 30 to try to be hard
Why I gotta have religion if I believe in God
Why is Bush actin' like we tryin' to get Osama
Why don't we impeach him and elect Obama
Why ain't Rick James remembered for classic hits
Why do we remember Rick for smackin' a...
Why did Ricky Williams retire, they mad in Miami
Why did Justin sell Janet out and go to the Grammys
Why you kill on every song
Why you frown at the screen
There's so many thrones
Why do we argue over who is the king
Why it's over for the gangsta
Why it's over for bling
Why they build Britney up
They know she can't sing
Why a whip and a chain a black American dream
Why I know it in my heart it remains unseen

And that's one of the less pointed ones. Nothing as mind-blowing as Jada outright accusing Bush of letting 9.11 happen on purpose on the original, but still pretty prickly in a good way.

Back in the 1800's... I wanna say Rutherford B. Hayes won electoral, but lost popular. It's not unprecedented.

Colorado's fiddling with proportional representation. We shall see how that works out, but if it does, then we go with that.

Can we just not acknowledge the existence of Ja Rule altogether?

I'm actually feelin' Common. Kept the whole Native Tongue ideal alive to the heathens through the mid- to late-90's.

Yeah, from what I saw, they haven't used nearly as much Keith Flint. Too bad the only thing I've heard off the album kinda isn't on the album anymore ("Baby's Got A Temper").

The thing is Carmella genuinely seems to feel like she's above everything. Thus, pissing off the other contestants. Why else do you think we saw the much-coveted "cum-guzzling gutter slut" line invoked in regards to her?

np: Twilight Singers: "Real Love"

Yes, it's THAT "Real Love". Only covered by the singer for the Afghan Whigs, among other people (I think Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees sang on this one). It's decidedly, well, nothing like the Mary J. Blige original. However, it kinda helps that Greg Dulli was one of the more soulful singers in early to mid-90's alt-rock. (Go listen to almost anything from Gentlemen if you doubt.) They take some of the non-sucky elements of alternative and come up with something that has a little of the spirit of the original, if not the same trappings.

Oh, and that's over and now they're covering "Hyperballad". Same sort of thing, recreating some of the elements of the original's electronics (this one's by Bjork, who we all know is > you) but making it their own.

A tad repetitive (can't they find anyone better or more relevant to flog than Slipknot?) but methinks you've nailed that. Now take care of the punk version of mallcore and everyone here SHOULD be lining up to have your babies.

Well shit, if I was Liam, I'd probably hate BGaT after... how long has it been since Fat of the Land? Six years? I'd think that they would want to show that they've evolved since then (and quite obviously, they have).

Yeah, but if you think that's bad, imagine if we go to popular vote. Never mind thirteen states deciding the election, it'll be, like, four.
