Football. No matter if it's football or... football.

It's actually a dead heat between soccer, football, and baseball. But since two of those are known by the same name as a choice on the poll, they overrule baseball.

Hockey'd probably be a whole lot better in HD. Or LIVE.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to take out the link. Looks decent, but you can't post links to sites hosting ROM's. Take the ROM down, replace it with an IPS (I recommend Lunar IPS for your patch needs) and you can link agayn.

And I thought my 1460 was impressive. (SMITE)

Well, I got cut from my old high school's men's volleyball team in its first season as an official intermural sport. But they won the class title. I also played soccer for eight years, moving all over the field. Mostly a midfielder, but did my best at forward. Only time I scored a goal (a cheap tip-in during an 8-1 blowout win), but got screwed on a shootout (I was good at penalty kicks) because the field and, consequently, the goal was smaller than usual. (Goalie goes low and right, I go top shelf and left. Ball hits the bottom of the crossbar, goes straight down, and bounces away.) We lost in the title game (the shootout was in the quarterfinals) that year.

And I'd TOTALLY play pro dodgeball, too.

Learn to spell and punctuate... the hilarity of this show deserves proper grammar.

It's not as funny as the original Jackass (although the movie was Fucking Hilarious) but it's still great. My father actually kinda reminds me of a thinner Phil...

I haven't personally played it, but it's supposedly one of the best games of its year. Not to mention, according to one reviewer, the most emotional game he's ever played. I can see that, the way you've described it.

np: Finch: "Letters To You"

Is there such a genre as pop-screamo? This song'd be pop-punk if not for the usage of programming (the chopped-up guitar leading into the last pre-chorus) and the guy flambe

Who doesn't love threadjacking? I can't get enough of it myself...

Anyone watching TNA? I only bought the $.01 PPV, but ever since Impact came on, I've been watching that. Apparently it's been doing quite well for a Fox Sports Net show (at THREE IN THE AFTERNOON on Fridays, even!) and there's talk of moving it to FX on Monday nights.

It's a good alternative to WWE, in that it's more wrestling oriented and the Sportz Entertainment is mostly about the in-ring bit. For instance, the big feud between AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian/Michael Shane is based on Shane and Kazarian wanting Styles out of the X Division because he left it to go for the World Championship, then came back for the X Division title. (The X Division's roughly analagous to the typical cruiserweight style, except, as the slogan goes, "It's not about weight limits, it's about no limits!" All you have to do is wrestle that style.) Mike Tenay really helps out with his announcing... he knows everything about anything, as long as it involves wrestling, so he gives people plenty of background on new or new-to-you competitors. Take, f'rinstance, Alex Shelley. He made his debut last week. But now we know he's a technical wondermind who studied all kinds of international styles, including the relatively unknown British style (based more in submission work). Now he's Goldylocks's new protege.

Take it to PM's. And while you're at it, start saying more about the songs. I don't want to have to set a rule, but a pithy paragraph'll be plenty. (Lyrics don't count. )

np: Glassjaw: "Tip Your Bartender"

Remember how I referred to a collaboration between this band's singer and Finch as being "batshit"? Well, here's proof of where that comes from. Fairly chaotic hardcore with feh lyrics. Although for some reason, it works when he screamsings "fashion is a war between the guilty and the guilty and the guilty and the guilty and the teen". The chorus is also quite swanktastic, too... they even work in a key change without completely pissing me off.

Wait, what the crap is this doing here? It's Entertainment, if ye ask me.

And he broke every record but the one-day one, which he tied. He didn't want that record all to himself, but tied so he could get Alex to shaddup. He's fairly active on TV Without Pity's boards, namely the Jeopardy! thread.

Actually, DON'T think of emo bands. I know what you mean (and technically, you are correct) but when you say emo, people nowadays think of tripe like Dashboard Confessional and New Found Glory.

kornfan: You don't get it. Posts like this are unacceptable:

I'm listeing to more korn! Big surprise...

Not really because of the content, there's not enough of it. I'm closing this thread for a few hours. Do NOT start another thread like this while it's closed.

EDIT: This thread's open again. Since I see no new copycats, you seem to get the rules. I don't want the bad apples to spoil everyone's fun, which is why it took me so long to take the step of closing it. I don't want to do that again, but if I have to, I will and I might not open this thread again.

If I see a preponderance of one or two-sentence posts, it's over. If you don't say anything of substance, you very well could kill this thread. The post I referenced earlier is a prime example of how to get this thread shut down. DO NOT post like that again. You know who you are, and the good posters know who they are. To them, I say:

thanks for all the replies keep em comming

Closest I came was when I was working in fast food. Maura Tierney (ER, Celebrity Poker Showdown champeen) came in to get some lunch. Overalls, white T-shirt, big sunglasses. I didn't recognize her but the manager did. (I was too busy doing drive-thru to pay much attention.) She was driving through on her way to a golf tournament.
