Day-um. Where'd you get the Silvertone? I think the closest I'll get to a nice tube amp is if I mod an old PA. And I don't know that I'd really use a whole lot of effects. (Says the guy that doesn't own an electric.) Although I'd like a nice Strat or Tele... my father's Les Paul doesn't do it for me, but I've loved them single-coil tones.

Used to go there regularly for their Trading Spaces recaps, but they axed those (I mean, eighty episodes a season? Good LORD are you gonna burn out your fanbase, TLC.). However, I've come back for the boards... specifically, the Degrassi: TNG thread. And their wallpapers take up most of my selections, now that I killed the ones that come with Windows.

Sessler's got some serious assclown tendencies, but you love Morgan. She is, by most accounts, a gamer... or at least hard-fucking-core Star Wars fangirl.

And I don't know that I'd go that far... X-Play doesn't hesitate to flay the deserving crap.

But when are they gonna bring back Video Power? You have to love the bonus round during the game show iteration.

Not just that, Colleen, but you had to see the game. The Terps were sack kings like Chris Webber (thanks, Ludacris!) and just wouldn't go away, even down by 12 with three and a half minutes left.

Oh, and you shoulda seen Vermont's coach on ESPNews. He said that there was only one player in the country who could guard Coppenrath... and guess who he plays for. XD

I don't know that he's got anything against trainers, really. He's just a whackjob. Probably roided up, too. But he could be a-fucking-mazing if he really wants to be.

In other news, Terrell Owens is a happy man. After his hearing, the NFL realized he'd probably win. So their compromise?

* Owens goes to the Eagles.
* The Niners get Brandon Whiting, a defensive lineman from the Eagles.
* The Ravens get their second-round pick back from San Francisco and they get Philly's fifth-rounder. All for renting Owens during the off-season.

He's gonna sign a 7 year, $42 million deal with the Eagles now. But the Giants should go sign John Lynch to go decapitate Owens twice a season.

Burt Hooton, Elias Sosa, and Charlie Hough.

Questione. In 2000, this player played at all nine positions in one game for his team. Who was it and what team was he on? Double bonus points if you can tell me who they played against, and if you can tell me what order he played each position, you REALLY need to get out more.

I'll only download stuff if I wouldn't buy it anyways. I like looking through the booklet and stuff. That and if I have it on vinyl, as I am too lazy to rip it myself.

Ooh, this one's actually pretty good. Burned it for my gf, and she liked it. Not only that, but she helped to explain the ironies and in-jokes, as she is the bigger Beatles fan (like how the beat for "Change Clothes" is mostly derived from "Piggies", an anti-capitalist song). There's a few other remixes of the Black Album floating out there, and while they aren't really authorized, that's why Jay-Z released an a capella version--so people could do mash-ups and remixes like this.

Death metal. THAT'S a good one. It's a return to his PUNK roots. Not death metal. ('Sides, there really isn't much of any quality on that album... just "That's When I Reach For My Revolver".)

Okay, I cheated on the Reggie Jackson question anyways. Retrosheet has damn near everything you could ask for. And I'll give you the date, too. October 1, 2000. Home game. And it was at a new stadium, too.

First off: Bush, according to some reports, doesn't even seem to like the amendment. He's just pushing it to appease the religious right.

My views? If we aren't ready for gay marriage, guess what. VN's right. Go with civil unions for state-sanctioned relationships and save marriage for churches. Marriage as a religious institution isn't even the government's job. And, as we all know, separate but equal is illegal under our laws. You want to save marriage for straight people? Give up the word for secular relationships. If you've got that much of a hard-on for the verbiage, then you won't mind, now, will you?

If you're against it because you're a Christian: Why? Do you do everything a religious leader tells you to? I mean, I'm in a bit of a spat with my parents because I choose to not consciously abstain on Fridays during Lent. Even though I don't call myself a Christian. Even though after thinking about the whole practice, it comes off as pious grandstanding. And yet, there's still plenty of people who do it just because they always have. Sound familiar?

geogree: Let it go. If everyone consents to it and can give informed consent, then we technically shouldn't care. I don't see the country getting ready to issue plural marriage licenses, though. Plural marriage isn't going to be an issue because no one's GOING to make it an issue unless it furthers their arguments (more often than not against gay marriage). Slippery slope is not an argument. There will be a line. At two consenting adults. Incest? It's already legal in some states (Texas, for instance, allows first cousins to marry). Plural marriage? No. Bestiality? Stop floundering for arguments. (Most of this paragraph isn't directed at you, just discrediting the slippery slope argument.)

Want to argue against gay marriage? Legion's got a start on how to do it properly.

Christian nation? (bzzt) Find where the Constitution says that Christianity is the official religion of the US. You won't. You'll find an establishment clause, though.

Majority rules? I'm calling shenanigans on that too. The reason why it's so hard to amend the Constitution is to protect the minority from the whims of the majority. Look at Prohibition. The majority pushed for it. However, it was recognized as pure idiocy, and tossed out the window. Majority rules was never the rule. Nor should it be, and this is why.

Yeah, my school email server blocks attachments quite well. Haven't had any false positives there, although their spam filter nailed one thing once that it shouldn't have.

Although it would be nice if normal email clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.) could let you filter emails by attachment file extension... Outlook only lets you do it by attachment. I use SpamBayes (I think it's at sourceforge), and it's QUITE nice at blocking spam (I get somewhere around 100 spam emails a day). And it's free, too.

I... uhm... searched by player. Checked by year, and that's INSANE. They need to make those searchable.

Anyway, I don't know how much this'll help, but the stadium did open in 2000 as well. So what do you have?

* The player in question achieved this feat on October 1, 2000.
* This game was a home game for his team.
* This team's stadium opened that year as well.

If you can guess the team, you'll be able to figure out the rest from Retrosheet's box score.

I pretty much stopped acknowledging the existence of their reality shows after Joe Millionaire. You can't do anything after that.

(scoff)

What you don't realize you're forgetting... is "Spicy McHaggis Jig"! Look at the schedule! (stops channeling Woody Paige)

np: The Start: "The 1234"

Total new-wave revival... Aimee Echo has the vocals NAILED. Driven mostly by the bassline, guitar fills every now and then... (drool) The surprising thing? After they got dropped by their label (I think it might have been that the label folded), they got picked up by Nitro Records... that label being Dexter Holland's. Not really their style, but maybe they saw quality and couldn't pass it up.

Well, we've gotten our first upset of the tourney. Manhattan DEMOLISHED Florida 75-60. Mind you, Manhattan was the 12 seed to Florida's 5, and Florida usually sucks when they're ranked fifth.

...that is CORRECT! I'll give you the order from the box score:

* First base
* Third base
* Right field
* Center field
* Left field
* Shortstop
* Catcher
* Pitcher
* Second base

The Tigers won that game 12-11. Ruby, the question is yours.
