Yeah, these kinds of things have been happening to myself since the N64 days. And I'm usually one of those gamers who has "their controller, nobody else touches this one". But with controllers like this these days you're almost forced to have more than 1 just for yourself.

So yeah, my recommendation would have been to open it up and mess with it. Seems like you did that already. Still if it seems to mess up, like others said just blow into it or try to clean it out in some way.

Yeah, hopefully that helps I guess.

I've heard your characters can surpass level 1,000 in some of these kind of games. . .

Jesus? They must be pretty long then.

I wasn't aware that Game Arts did Lunar ... thought it was Working Designs.

But yeah I do remember hearing about a new Mana game that's in the works, definitely hoping it's better than Sword of Mana...

Wario Ware would be pretty awesome too, think of the minigames with the Touch Screen possibilites. ZXD

I guess I'll wait for the end of the week before I buy it. Less people and they'll probably have received some by then.

Yeah, my relatives whom bought it for me said they had to search from place to place, and that they're pretty much sold out everywhere.

Some employee said they're one of the hottest selling things at the time.

What I want to do is simple, set layouts to be off for guests.

I'm using Acmlm+Erk 1.45, so it's sort of like 1.92, but doesn't have everything 1.92 does, vice versa.

I'm pretty sure it's rather very simple, I'm just not exactly sure of what to look for and alter.

Checked over viewsig, but I don't think that's it.

I liked them all about equally, but DKC3 was a little different from the first two.

DKC2 definitely provided to be the most challenging of the 3, but I just enjoyed the Jungle Island / Caverns / Mines / Snow Mountains / Toxic Wasteland theme that the first brought. And, you could play as Donkey Kong himself.

But I own all of them, and they're all great. Probably my 3rd pick of best sidescrolling adventure series next to Mario and Sonic games.

I see what you mean.

Thing is though loadlayout(); isn't in thread.php for Acmlm+Erk apparently.

I do see this, which seems like it would be similar:

$postlayout=1;
if($loguserid) $postlayout=$loguser[layout];

Below $postlayout=1;
I tried adding
if(!$loguserid) $postlayout=' ';
But that just caused the posts to not even show up.

Sorry, tried to get creative with the thread title.

Basically, my PS2 becomes crappier and crappier everyday.
Sadly I have to wait another 2 years or so for the PS3 to finally come out so I can finally take my PS2 and slam it over my bathtub.

Why? I want to play my games. But I can't when I get a disc read error 70% of the time I insert a game.

Xenosaga hasn't worked at all for months, back when I first tried it I felt good about trying to go back into the game and finish it up, well PS2 slapped me in the face with that one.

San Andreas takes a couple restarts to work right, freezes sometimes.

Oh, here's the best part. Got a whole lot of money for Christmas and I was wanting to buy a good new RPG for the PS2, so I go with Growlanser Generations, and, both Grownlanser II and III don't work at all.

Great isn't it?

"FIx it lazy biatch!"

It's my dads PS2. And he's not to keen to letting me do whatever I want with it, he won't even let me take it out of the house.

So, it just seems like I'm going to have to save up some money and buy a new one.

I have a couple of friends who have had this problem too. One of them has fixed it, but lately the problem came up again, so he's "fixed" it multiple times. Either I can get my dad to trust someone and have them fix it, or have myself attempt it, or ... guess I'll start saving my money up now.

This is one of the major reasons why I'll usually favor the Xbox or Gamecube in discussions.

Yeah, the swimming levels were fine.

In each of the DKC games they rocked out with an awesome theme.

Anyone agree to me that Rare totally f*cked up Donkey Kong 64? That game was horrendous, I had high hopes for it expecting a good series being brought into the 3D world like Mario 64 ... but it completely failed.

Something I just got done reading over:

December 23, 2004 - According to retail sales tracking service Media Create, Nintendo DS games continue to lead the pack in the Japanese handheld sector. Wario Ware Touched! (Sawaru Made in Wario) and Super Mario 64 DS sold a cumulative 249,000 and 241,000 copies respectively in Japan, nabbing spots #4 and #5 on the weekly sales chart ending December 19, 2004.

Sales of the two DS games nearly tripled those of Sony PSP's biggest seller, Ridge Racers, which sold 87,000 copies since its launch on December 12. At the same time, Game Boy Advance title sales are also still going strong.

Definitely, looking at this thread as an example as you can, nearly everyone who's played them has no complaints.

And like I said before, I'd rank this series up with the old Super Mario Bros / World, and Sonic the Hedgehog games.

Apparently phpnuke sites are getting hacked, completely. Guess a bug was exploited ...

Just google this:

Enquanto Houver Fome Guerra Morte Simiens Existira

Wam, tons of hits.

This was the full message:

Simiens Crew 2004/2005 Enquanto Houver Fome Guerra Morte Simiens Existira

My friend says it's probably portoguese, and it basically represents anti-Bush'sm, of some sort.

But that's pretty lame. So what if you don't like Bush, he's now President, so live with it. And how is hacking sites going to do anything?

Weird stuff.

That's actually one of the reasons why I like / enjoyed the first one the most. It wasn't incredibly innovative, just a solid, simple and amazingly fun game. You go through levels, there's bonus levels within them, that's basically it, and I liked that.

I've nearly broken games, from accidentally placing them in the disc tray but not knowing they weren't in fully ... closing the disc up agains't the closing of the disc tray.

Funny fact, apparently the PS2 has 3 different lens. (maybe 4) One for each different type of disc, PS1 CDrom games, DVD's, and PSX games. I read an article (think it was Game Informer) where apparently the "switch" that shifted these lens when different discs were placed in the PS2 broke on someone. So, the guy had to basically set a manual shift / switch so he could rotate the lens itself.

The Xbox has one, from what I've read. That's dual layered or something, for Xbox games, and DVD's.

Nothing to really do with what I'm argueing with, but just seems like a lack of product here.

Ugh, why do people complain about the use of the stylus in games?

From what I've noticed with Mario 64x4 and Metroid Prime Hunters (the demo) you can setup to the controls to where you don't even have to use the touch screen for controlling Mario / Samus ... so why argue?

Yeah I don't personally prefer it, but it's no challenge to simply switch to "Dual Control Mode" in Hunters, or anything like that ...
