| Do you mean "Ramza"? This game does look really good though, I like the hybird mix of both fantasy and technology mixed which seems like this game is taking an approach at. From what I've seen in the past that battle system will probably be completely different from past FF's, and isn't it like semi-what real time? I'm not knowing of any other sources out there for this game, but good links. Keep us informed. ![]() |

| Looooooong, time ago. I just mentioned them because eventually I found my way to that site in the past, through CGC. |

| That's a little intense. I'm sure a palm tree from the backyard would work just as well. |

| Yeah, it makes sense. Most parents are pretty stressed at this time, like mine rushing out only days before Christmas to buy presents, etc. |

| Nadda. Agreed. Torrents can basically be made by anyone, that knows how to do it. Bit torrent even comes with instructions on how to do so. Get yourself a server, and there you go. So yeah, I agree. No matter how long this is going to drag out, I'm sure P2P is here to stay for quite sometime ... (edited by Xeogred on 12-20-04 08:11 PM) |

| Promotional Ad: http://www.anarchy-online.com/free/ad_campaigns/freecampaign/ Yes, you read the title right. You can register an account now, before January 15th to have access to play AO for free, until 2006. Although this doesn't include Shadowlands, this is free. Definitely worth checking out, for those of you (many of us) who love free stuff. |

| This seems really interesting, I have yet to attempt a hack for an N64 game, maybe this'll be a good thing to start off with. With this I'm sure it also wouldn't be too hard (possibly) to start PD hacking also. |

| No >( I'm picky, I like cheese, meat, and of course the bread, that's my usual sandwich. Sometimes I get extreme, and toss on some bacon. Does pepper count? ![]() (edited by Xeogred on 12-21-04 01:17 AM) |

Yeah, I really like AO's setting and characters, but other than that the gameplay is a little chunky. I'd probably much rather play WoW, if I had the money. ![]() |

That's definently it's biggest flaw. ![]() And still, it seems to be pretty lagtastical at times. Other than that I love the music, character customization, setting, etc. Just wish it was as user friendly as WoW. ![]() |

| Ever since the days of my Gameshark deleting my OoT files, I haven't cared to use one since. I'm quite anti-cheating, anti-FAQ, myself. Why? That's me, face it, like it or hate it. I've had these kinds of my debates with my friends and it really just comes down to the type of gamer you are. Example: My friend told me he had been using GameFAQ's for nearly everything in Suikoden II, where to go, what to do, who to get. This is a game spanning about 50+ hours of gameplay, and has a total of 108 characters go get. Do I care? No, where's the gratification that YOU got them? With a FAQ, nowhere. I played this game and used no help whatsoever, and loved every minute of it. Sure, maybe I got a 10+ hour bonus on top of all this, but does it really matter? I played the game to my liking and refused to seek help through a FAQ or whatnot. I think it degrades such a game when you read something "this guy is HERE, in this town, DO THIS to get him." Thanks? For the same friend, he used FAQ's for nearly the entire Metroid Prime game. And guess what? When I go on and on about how wonderful that game is he's just kind "ugh yeah sure". Why? Maybe because he didn't get the fun of figuring out things for himself, exploring the world to his extent, getting the satisfaction of finding items alone, playing the game? I'm all for figuring things out myself. Back in the day did we have GameFAQ's for Metroid? Sure, maybe we did, but at 5 years old of age could I really manage to get there on a computer? Or even read for the matter? No. Puzzles are fun, and I like to find out how to get through them on my own. I buy some strategy guides myself for use as Kyouji Craw mentioned. Mainly for RPG's, -after- I have successfully reached the end of the game and am going back to collect things. Hell, I bought the FFIX strategy guide when I was one the 4th Disc. Ironically, I still ended up getting all cards, not missing any of the ones that were "get or miss", on my own. Other times I simply buy Strategy guides as a trophy or collectors item. As for cheating? Don't even get me started. Maybe I'm just some WACKO freak whom happens to love battles in RPG's. To me, the gameplay / battle system is nearly 50% of the game. Example? Xenosaga, I got so bored with that game at about 20-30 hours of gameplay and just stopped playing it because the battle system was so lame. I have a friend who'll instinctively cheat on RPG's, here's why. "I play for the storyline, not for boring battles." Being quite a nerd, this just pisses me off. As I said before, I'd say battling in RPG's is nearly half of the entire game. That's almost a factor to why I buy certain RPG's, "to have fun fighting". But do I cheat? Yes. Easily. Once I've completed a game, I have no problem in going back and possibly cheating. But I'd still argue to "rightfully" play the game, play it as it was made and by yourself like a real gamer. Go ahead, take this post offensively if you wish. That's just the gamer I am. I buy games, to play them the way they were meant to be played and with no help unless it's beyond impossibility. If you've managed to get through and read all of this, I congratualate you on witnessing my biggest arguement about gaming I guess this calls for the "My 2 cents" that some would say? That's my 2 cents. |

| At first this thread came out to be just annoying ... it's gotten better.. Looking at the PSP as a stand-alone system, and in a non-comparitive matter, I think it looks good. I like it's slick looks, and I think the controller layout is fine. But I will admit only a slew of some games are even an interest to me at the moment. A few that Anya mentioned, but she forgot Tales of Enternia. (which is announced to be a remake of Tales of Destiny II for the PSX).But in the end I do think the PSP has it's flaws. Unless it's got a good protector of some sort, I wouldn't be surprised if games froze / skipped because of them being discs for a handheld. The battery life sounds pretty crappy. I could careless for UMD's altogether. A good mp3 player can be bought and probably last longer than the PSP would. So in short, the PSP looks fine, but I don't think it'll hold up for long. Notice I didn't come into the thread and say "The DS is going to blow this thing away!" |

| From what I've noticed on other places, it depends. If you're wanting a more serious game go with Phantom Brave. Disgaea supposedly has a good level of humor in the game, but still retains a serious plot. Also, this game is slightly newer so has crisper visuals. Both SRPG's, but both are awesome. Just depends. *Disgaea* |

So sue me. ![]() Be on the look out for Atlus's upcoming Stellas Deus, it's looking totally awesome. Check Gametrailers.com for trailers, and RPGfan for news. Probably the best graphics I've ever seen in an SRPG, and the musics pretty kickin'. |

Just for the record I think adding an entirely new place for a forum like this would be kind of wasteful, taking up space and such. Instead, I'd say a link to the forum under the Help / Suggestions forum description would work just as well. ![]() But that's me. In the end it doesn't really matter, such a forum wouldn't concern me. |

| I got one myself on Christmas Eve (grandparents) and it's pretty slick. Not owning a GBA at all, I'm pretty much having to start up a collection of games from almost nothing. I did get Super Mario 64x4, and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Super Mario 64x4 is even better than the original I'd say. New gameplay elements, new levels, etc. I found myself playing away with it's many mini-games also. (some are quite weird though ... she loves me, she loves me not ... hmm) After switching the Metroid Prime Hunters demo to Dual Mode for controlling, I can't wait for the game. But I'd still like to see another side-scrolling Metroid game ... a new one for the DS. Today I plan to get Zelda: Four Swords, Zelda: The Minish Cap, and Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls. ![]() Is Mario Kart DS out? What when who where why? |
