Yes, you can play Phantasy Star Online for the PC.

Downloads
(I'd recommend the http://www.pso-trucs.com/download/pso.zip one)

The graphics aren't too incredible, but this is a port of the DC version. Sometimes you might be lucky enough to play levels from episode 2, but that's only happened to me only a few times.

The controls take a little getting used to, but how can you go wrong? This is free

There's usually about 30-40 people in one of the servers (join the trial one, using the online.offlinepatch.exe).

It's fun, nothing spectacular, but worth a look.

Sorry if this has already been posted.

Bah, I liked all of the tracks in this game.

I voted for Rainbow Road though. (yeah yeah)

It's fun, and challenging, and has a cool theme.

I hang around the GameFAQ's forums when a new game comes out or something and lurk in that board.

But I haven't made an account, and don't think I ever will ...

The stupidity there is amazing, most of the time the entire first page of threads relates to the same exact topic.

I'm not sure if you can entirely compare the Dark World aspect to Link to the Past, but it isn't bad. Sometimes though it feels very, much the same as the Light World, just ... darker, and harder because of the atmosphere and enemies.

Not a major spoiler ... but just so you know ...
Spoiler:
Most of the places don't have an entire Dark World side to them, sometimes it's only large canyons and such, but it's still not "horrible" like a lot of people have said.

Have any questions for this game? Feel free to ask, as I'm closing in with the Final Fight at 95% of items found.

I was about to make a topic about this game myself, surprised it took so long.

This game, if you do look deep into it does feel somewhat similar to Prime, but it's still an entirely new world to explore, with new themes, and new powerups to get, worthy of being an incredible sequel.

I have a few disappointments, and these are small things:
- The Dark World themes aren't too enjoyable, unless you like Dark Weird Ambience. (very low beat stuff)
- So far, I'm expecting to beat this game quicker than it took me to beat Prime at 100%. Prime took me 20+ hours to get 100% with, while I'm at 15 hours on Prime 2 with like I said before 95%. Still though this game is nothing to pass up.
- As the statement above, items (if you're an original to the Metroid series, and are good at backtracking and looking at places) seem easy to find, I've never really had to look deep into areas to find anything here.

Other than that this game has got to be the most impressive game I've played so far this year. (still need to play MGS3, but yes I'm comparing to other games like Halo 2, Half-Life 2, etc...)

I might say overall I'd rather play Prime just because I enjoyed the enviornments more, but if you're looking for more of a challenge this game is definitely a taker, and hey, it is in fact still a Metroid game.

Torvus is easily my pick as the coolest area in this game, and packs the best theme.
Spoiler:

Not too mention Red Brinstar's remix theme for lower Torvus. ; )

Anyways like I've said again and again ... easily a 10 out of 10 game here.

Indeed the Sanctuary Temple is great and all, but I liked the organic aspect of Torvus.

I've always been a fan of organic worlds when it comes to Metroid games, and it fit perfectly.

Sanctuary Temple was a pretty detailed place though, and definitely had the coolest enemies as you mentioned the Virus'er enemies, and that huge mechanical spider boss.

The coolest boss battles though were easily the ones with Dark Samus, just as Dark Link in OoT, it's always awesome taking on an opposite of yourself.

Bah, nothing in specific, but Invisible War. (Deus Ex)

That game seemed very unfinished. A lot of times the game would freeze up, on both the Xbox and PC versions.

You can easily fall through maps.

Shooting people can sometimes slow the framerate down a lot, and mess things up.

Overall ...

Deus Ex: The Conspiracy >x100 Invisible War

Remember the Jp server doesn't work.

Did you register it?

What can I say? It was my first time.

Went to get some Burger King for a late dinner, got home ... pulled out my Black Mages CD from the CD player, turned the car off, grabbed my food, slammed the door.

The instant I heard the door shut I realized "Oh boy, the keys are still in there".

Thing is, I don't exactly have my own car yet ... it's my moms.

(waiting for her to come home ...)

Happaned to you?

UnsurpassedDarkness: Nope, they're not discs. There in fact cartridges, even smaller than GBA games. Well I guess you could nearly call them "cards".

The DS is definitely number 1 on my Christmas list this year. Being a non-GBA owner, I love the fact that it has backward compatibility, considering there's tons of GBA games out there already that are really good.

From what I've seen the DS is totally awesome. It's a lot smaller than I had imagined it to be, which is a good thing. The WiFi multiplayer setup is also very nice.

The only thing that could be a little weird to get used to for awhile is playing games like Mario 64x4 without a joystick, yeah there is the "Touch Pad" and stylus, but that's still ... different.

The PSP ... honestly, looks -decent-. I like the fact it's also an mp3 player, and also has a Tales of Eternia game coming to it, other than that, I'd easily choose the DS over it anyday.

Well besides my "old" input at Tek for this game, you definitely know I'm looking forward to this.

Extremely nice update Omega, this is really going to be major here.

Input? Just keep up the awesome work.

Actually, in my driveway.

So I'd consider myself to be lucky.

Thank god I didn't have to walk home.

Not to gang up on you here, but here's some respectful criticism.

- Text is somewhat hard to read. (somewhat...)
- The layout is rather small, width wise.
- Just take out the animated GIF's.

Here's the bad situation though:

- Dashboard is goofy, requireing another key to use. If I use the one to open up the door with on it, it will get stuck.
- The key used to drive, doesn't work on the door. So basically vice versa from the other key.

So, basically overtime one key screwed up, and as far as I know we don't have a secondary / backup key.

Guess we'll be calling someone.

Yes, I've known that. But doesn't dissapoint me really.

If I had to choose between a DS or GBA, I'd go with the DS, regardless of losing the ability to play multiplayer with the GBA games. Most of the games I'll probably get that are GBA games will probably be more focused on single player anyways.

Final Acmlmboard, but yet it won't be the Final version and then there will be a Final I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII. Hmm ...

Well hey, Roman numbers wouldn't look so bad?

Acmlmboard II

Errr, they kind of do.

Sure, go with the hex idea Jesper .. even though it seems a little "different", seems you're really head strong on doing it.

^ Probably.

That reminds me, isn't the Official 1.92 or whatever suppose to actually be released to the public soon? I thought I remember people mentioning to expect it to come out around the end of 2004, which is basically ... now.

Weird, a question about Yoshi's saddle turned into a 3 page topic ...

Well like you said Kratos, we may never understand the Mario universe.

Hence the whole "shrooms" deal.

What I've always wondered, is what exactly are the holes in many of the older Mario games? Does Mario just fall off of a cliff and die? Are they all floating islands like some levels in Mario 64? Do they warp to another dimension where Mario turns into Luigi and then Chrono pops out of nowhere?

Hm ...
