I <3 Streets of Rage.

I can't believe you didn't mention Battletoads though. That series, and Double Dragon are like the roots of Beat em' Ups. The old TMNT games also rocked, like you said.

Dude, we're talking sidescrolling-classic-real-shooters here, not FPS's.

Anyways, what is the hardest shooter you guys have ever played? My vote goes to Contra: Hard Corps, or Thunder Force III.

I think top-loading is kind of old and goofy. The Gamecube has never bothered me though, since the disc's are mini.

But yeah, tray's are probably the best and most conveinent. Slide-In's would seem nice, but I can just picture kids sticking things into them.

I honestly only saw like, 30 minutes of the movie.

I was seriously tired.

Is it worth picking up though?

That, and it's true top loading ones are probably just overall much more safer for the disc's.

There's been times where I've accidently "tapped" the PS2 tray while games weren't sitting in all the way, so they were nearly broken in half.

I still prefer tray's, but they've got there ups and downs.

And here's where I come in and say "WTF"?

I played the game on an emulator WAY back like 5-6 years ago.
Then bought FF: Chronicles and beat it again.

I noticed like, aboslutely -no- difference in level of difficulty. FFIV was not hard at all, heck, I beat Zeromus alone with Cecil (Zeromus killed off my entire party almost at the start, but since I had leveled up Cecil in solo-mode he was WAY ahead of everyone else, so he was much stronger).

Seriously, every single time I see people praise the FFIV Hard Type version or mention it being better, I just say to myself "What?"

Meh, maybe I'm just too much of a leveling bitch?

Anyways ...

Considering I just bought the SNES version, and how I haven't touched my DS since oh, probably before the summer, I doupt I'll get this.

Edit: Tamarin, I was blowing up at you (just to clerify), but yeah, I honestly didnt' read your entire post above this, sorry.

... but still, I have seen people in the past praise the Hard Type version, which again, in my opinion was nothing special.

But yeah ... I'm with Colleen and Lenophis on this ... I want FFIII!!!

I'm pretty sure this is one of the major reasons why 2.0 is going to exist - because it'll be compatible with newer versions of php, MySQL, and so forth.

At least just from what I remember hearing

BTW, didn't the US SNES version not even have all the characters skills? Tellah's Recall and, I think, the Twins' Twin spells were removed, IIRC... granted neither were particularly useful, but...

I couldn't say. I just started playing the game basically (and with the little time that I have, it could be awhile before I beat it).

Maybe it's just me though, but the translation seems pretty bad. There was already a few beaten files on the cartridge, so I played on from there (The Moon Palace, or whatever it was called) and a lot of the dialogue seemed ... off.

I just don't remember it being that bad in the PSX version, was that one fixed up a little bit? It wouldn't surprise me, because there's a few differences between FFVI SNES and FFVI PSX also.

I think some people think it's cool or something, just like a lot of people like to use "leet".

I see a ton of this "lata, wat, u, aight" crap on Xanga's, email's, and stuff like this at school myself. It's seriously like people think it's cool or something.

I'm glad I don't work in retailing.

But yeah, this is kind of exciting. A lot earlier than I expected (I was thinking it would be released more around Christmas time).

I'll probably be getting the nice $400 package, along with Gears of War and Perfect Dark Zero.

Sure, maybe a relative point, but everything aside from the final boss (and I hardly single-power-leveled until the end of the game) the majority of the game was easy. Bahamut, the Underworld, everything.

No, it didn't escape my grasp.

Something along the lines of DoS (in terms of new gameplay and things) would be nice though, in my opinion.

Instead of praising it like everyone else on each page of this thread, I'm going to say it was probably a 5 out of 10 movie in my opinion. I seriously had to keep myself from losing interest / falling asleep, whatever.

I'm not going to say I was let down or anything, I've been pretty excited about this movie for a long time but it was just kind of one of those things "I had a feeling" was going to be "meh".

Sure, you can sit there and say the animation and fancy scenes were nice, but just like people will argue with videogames with wonderful graphics, it's not the graphics that count deep down inside. This movie had too many unanswered and random things going on, and the plot seemed to start from nowhere and go nowhere.

It just ... I'm just clueless what I should say it about. I just don't think it was all that special at all, and I don't plan on seeing it again.

Have at you.

Sure it looks cool, and the idea is great, but I do not want to be "forced" to swing and glide a remote around in the air to simply play a videogame. Or, and I also do not want to have a two-peice controller in both of my hands to play games.

When I saw the trailer at school with a group of friends, I figured I would've had a better time running face first into a wall.

It looks bad.

I'm also interested how we'll be playing the older games ...

Yesterday I purchased:

- Secret of Mana (SNES)
- Star Ocean II (PSX)
- Metal Gear Solid (PSX, I sold my copy years ago, just wanted it again)
- Kinteca (PS2, I randomly bought this game. I played it when it came out a few years ago and loved it, saw it, and picked it up).

All for $88.xx dollars.

Yeah, I really took advantage of Vintage Stock's 25% off videogames sale this weekend.

Quite the deal I'd say.

I'm clueless as to whether or not this thread should be allowed.

We usually don't allow such threads, that just basically link to your own messageboards (i.e. advertising).

Just stick a link in your signature, bio, or whatever else please.
