ZerOwned - Way off.
Apophis - That comment is actually kind of ironic.

Seems like it. So I take it the Salamander / Life Force series is actually still just part of the Gradius series?

Another good sidescroller, the Thunder Force series, III and IV were incredible, but bitchin' hard.

Eh, I hope not. I could careless to even attempt to beat the majority of the games on this.

All I've been playing is Sonic CD. Unlocked everything from Time Attack, Time Attack Special Stages, the music menu, Visual Mode, and so on. Now I just need to go through it and get the good ending.

Yoronosuku: It does have the entire SoR trilogy right? I wouldn't want to be misleaded and end up only being able to play the first one.

As a General Gaming moderator, you better go back and play these games!

But really, you should truly go back and play a handful of the games mentioned in this thread, you won't be disappointed.

Go through every file, and look for $root. When you find it, replace it with the path to the required file in question. For example, editmods.php looks like this:

require '../lib/function.php';
$windowtitle = "$boardname - Forum Moderators";
$usebase=1;
require $root.'/lib/layout.php';

Replacing require $root.'/lib/layout.php'; with require '../lib/layout.php'; should work...

Leaving $root alone in function.php shouldn't cause any problems, since after you remove it from the other files, nothing will call it.

On a side note, I noticed that there's another $root var in function.php:

//$root = $_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]."/board";
$root = "/home/devacmlm/webroot"; //FIX THIS - ||bass

Has anyone tried uncommenting the first $root, and commenting the 2nd one? Also, if protector.php is in the same dir, why does it have this:

require $root.'/lib/protector.php';

Maybe that's what's causing problems with $root? Or maybe it's because the path for $root is surrounded by "quotes" instead of 'apostrophies' like other paths?

This is working for me in a sense, but something really seems to be messed up, something very simple probably.

When I go into /admin, it'll be fine, but the board banner will not display, and all of the links go "back" a directory.

So, if I wanted to go to editmods.php through the admin panel, the link would appear as:
http://www.xeogaming.net/admin/editmods.php
When it should be:
http://www.xeogaming.net/board/admin/editmods.php

It takes -everything- back a directory. Clicking on "Main" will take me to xeogaming.net, and not xeogaming.net/board

I've had this problem for awhile ... this also occurs when I go into edituser and try to edit somebody, edituser will be fine, but will not update the user because when it officially updates, it goes back a directory into my main sites folder and therefore cannot find function.php

Editing the links in the admin's index.php didn't seem to help at all.

Should I just reupload every 1.A3 file into my main -main- directory, and see if everything works there?

Then again, I'm hoping to get a new host soon ... someone who would actually take a few minutes to put my board at board.xeogaming.net.

Yeah, I can't believe I didn't get into the system when I was younger. My dad bought me Genisis and I'd argue with my cousins that it was better but now I'm realizing the great games SNES had to offer.

Whoops, for some reason I got your post mixed up thinking it was Yoronosuku, that's why I made that first comment in my post above.

Well, regardless, yeah the SNES is definitely worth going back to, and for single player games I'd say it has an edge over the Genesis - RPG's, save files, adventure games, etc.

Did you try doing 'board/lib/funtion.php';?

Just tried that out, didn't seem to work.

I do have my directories setup like they 'should be', right?
main site
- public_html, where /board is
- in /board, the /admin and /ppanel folders are placed there

So basically, should /admin be placed outside of my /board directory?

Ugh, this has been an issue forever. I should probably just nuke $root, completely, like everyone else has.

Edit: Thing is I had tested a lot of things before, and I do have an admin folder in my main public_html directory, outside of my /board directory anyways. Guess it doesn't make much of a difference?

(Hopefully I'm making sense)

Seriously though, quite awesome. I honestly can't wait to see what else you have in store for us, and with the event code cracked, seems you can be very creative in how the game flows and such. Oh, and the music rules

Heh, you'd probably have a heart attack watching me play LttP then. I am -always- dashing. It always feels so weird starting a new game and not having my good ol' Pegasus boots.

I like how you kept out the new graphics also, nice advertising / hype builder you guys are.

Yeah.
/public_html/board/admin/
Does not work, and nor does:
/public_html/admin/

Even after I've changed the directories around and whatnot. I guess I should just try placing every file in one directory? Seems tedious and unorganized, but hey, if it works, it works.

Gecko is all-correct. I didn't even know they had different versions of Thunder Force for the SNES, but yeah, I've only played the Genesis versions.

II was -really- weird and different, it was overhead and you go fly in any direction, rather than just going left to right like your regular shooter (which III and IV went back to).

But yeah, IV is easily one of the best shooters I've ever played. On top of that, the music is absolutely oustanding, and seems way ahead of most Genesis games out there. Hard game though, but luckily my rom had a Infinite Lives option to start off with. _

Ah, Parodius, now those are good games, pretty hard too. The hardest part of those games? Trying to focus.

This made me wonder -- if you're recoding the whole thing, why not calli t ||bassboard? If none of the code is Acmlm's, then it's not exactly an Acmlmboard anymore, is it?

||board would look cooler, erm ... I guess?

Ronin: Marquee's should die.

And yeah, I've got plenty of suggestions and ideas for 2.0.
