| Kind of, remember it was destroyed by the Death Star in IV. But yeah, I'm sure everyone knows that Leia was adopted and raised on Aldaraan ... And I absolutely loved the ending. It's the same exact scene with Owen and his wife, holding Luke, while Luke stands in the same place in IV. Edit: PS ww, I did mean scared, scared for life. Even though there's that saying "Now I'm scarred for life", I did mean to say scared. | Play the game? Well I've beaten it about 5-6 times by now. ;P Yes, Chrono Cross is indeed one of the best RPG's out there, in my opinion. Like Slay said, the Combat and Battle System was very different, unique and awesome. But the thing I really liked about the games combat, was the Element System and how they were used, and how they linked to the Element Grid. By the end of the game, you would have so many magic attacks you wouldn't even know what to do with them, and I'm not even counting New Game+ here. Aside from that, there are two things about Chrono Cross that I think is better than any other RPG out there. - The Art. The backdrops, backgrounds, and setting in this game are so incredible, organic, and fantasized, that this is seriously a major factor as to why I love going back to play this game. It's "beautiful". The only other game out there that I think can match up to it's Art, would probably have to be FFIX. - The Music. Chrono Cross in my opinion has the best videogame soundtrack out there, period. My only complaint is that the battle themes weren't too epic, but how can I complain when I get all of those other tracks? As for the storyline, it is tricky. It's a game where you'll really have to pay attention, or you'll probably soon be lost. Thus is why I'd recommened it's more than just a single play through. My biggest complaint about the game, is the length. It truly isn't that long of a game, first time probably took me a little over 20 hours to beat, then the other times probably between 15-20. But you can argue that fact, since there is in fact a New Game+ feature.  Chrono Cross is easily a very solid RPG, and if you have not yet played it, you really are missing out. |

| I mean, just look at our current generation of gaming. Most sidescrollers that come out nowadays for consoles, are either absolutely horrible, or decent. Nothing really too fantastic compared to games back in the day. And now look at technology. The GBA seemed to be the last drive of preserving sidescrollers, but now we're in a new age with the DS and PSP. The DS seems to still be bringing out a few sidescrollers, thankfully (I've heard about a 2D Metroid, CV DS, Super Mario Bros DS, etc), but the PSP is no exception. Is there even one sidescrolling game out there for the PSP currently? Not that I've seen, but I rarely keep up with handhelds so I could be missing something. Consoles aren't really an exception either, these days. Sure there was what, one good Contra game for the PS2? But isn't that pretty much it? But to put it simply, I think the type of games that I have grown up and played since before I could even talk and walk correctly, are slowly coming to an end. They're a rare occassion these days, and when systems get even more advanced, they seem to fall even deeper into the shadows. I'm not saying once the DS is gone there will never again be a sidescrolling game, but I think in our current generation, sidescrollers are going to be a very rare thing from here on out. What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Oh yeah, I'd rather not see sidescrollers die. I guess it's just something I'll have to come and accept. Either that, or I've become way too much of a classic gamer (over the past months I've been playing nothing but my Genesis and SNES). |

| Tonberry's in FFVIII were definently a bitch. So much health, and so little time. I've always hated Like Likes though, I always seemed to have a problem with them in the original Zelda and in LA, I just hated having to go all the way back to a town to buy a shield. Wallmasters were also always a pain. I hated them in the 3rd Dark World Temple in LttP (dungeon in the forest). |

| Okay, I guess I need to elaberate. I don't think because of technology's increase, that it's not "possible" to make sidescrollers anymore. It's just that developers aren't doing it that often these days. Thing is, I'd really like to see huge sidescrolling games. With the power of consoles today, we could have a 2D Metroid game, like what, 10x the size of Zebes from Super Metroid? Probably even larger than that. And am I the only one here that would think that would be awesome? Look at Castlevania SoTN. That game is enormous, being a sidescroller on a 32bit platform, and it's considered to be one of the best games for the PSX. True, there will always be sidescrollers, but the genre to me has really died out. I've only really stuck unto the classics, which were pretty much mentioned already; Megaman (although none of them rank up to the originals in my opinion), Metroid, CV, and so on (I don't know what it is, but I really don't like the new Sonic games for the GBA). Maybe I've just become picky. =\ |

| True. The ending theme of IV though (when Luke and Han recieve their medals) is absolutely awesome. It's a shame that's about the only time you hear the SW theme like that. Yeah, I watched IV over recently, and it was a lot better than I remembered. IV was always my least favorite of the OT, but I still liked it ... just didn't give it that much attention, but it was great. And I just have to know. | Tis' was an adventurous day. So I got off the computer, and went to the freezer because I was hungry. I opened the freezer, only to see "Chocolate Chip Waffles". I was shocked, and my mind went dense. I couldn't think. Luckily I rolled a 27 on my Will Save, and was able to come to my senses. After that I decided to use Power Attack and knock that Chocolate Crap Waffle box out of my way, and to reveal regular waffles. Then I ate them. Yummy. |
