I (rarely) talked to him on AIM while he was gone, he actually IMed me today.

In any case, glad to have you back, heh. Now if we could just get the elusive Imajin here....

Now we just need Imajin back and all of the kickass people from yesteryear will be back.

Too bad he seems to have disappeared entirely...

No, they completely DESTROIED the first episode (they chopped it to pieces and reinserted what was left in random parts of the title, giving little/no story background whatsoever) ...

And yes, thanks for reminding me, they did change a ton of episodes around. Fucking Nelvana*, those assholes should go to hell and burn for their bastardization of th-- erm...

Little overboard there.

Windows 98 forever

I don't see why you would even use a limited account for internet browsing, it seems pretty stupid.

The title screen is... well, ugh.

ANd while the whole look is nice, you really, really need to fix the "Used" blocks. THey look like crap.

And the new header/sig combo is horrible. Simply move the header text to the sig- there's absolutely NO reason for it to be in the header.

Jesper (typing out blockquotes manually sucks)
The general idea of what we're going to do about it is that we'll insert a smaller hack in the board simply directing you to the 'correct' version - the officially sponsored URL, board.acmlm.org. If we keep doing that, people will NOT be able to use their old URL, and once again there'll be ONE URL and one set of cookies (because of it being one domain).
Ugh, no... not everyone wants to use board.acmlm.org, not everyone wants to use acmlm.org/board.

What you SHOULD do is simply set a cookie for the domain "acmlm.org" with the folder "/"; it'll work on every domain/subdomain (but then Jiz loses his ability to use both for different logins, and the acmlm.org//board trick is lost)

Either way, there's no winner. People should use relative links (thread.php instead of ...acmlm.org/board/thread.php, etc) and online.php could probably use a better URL grabber (get the server, too, instead of just the end)

I like using /board/ because it gives that old feel. Heh.

Alright, I got another ocmputer I can borrow for a while.

Problem is... it's crap. Pentium 3, that's better, but... ugh:

The Bad
- For some reason, it ticks like it's a time bomb. Nearly onec a second or so the computer itself will make a tictock noise, and I dno't know what it is.
- It's Win ME
- It's got a ton of unneeded programs, malware, etc; dialers, too, and likely pron.
- It also has a ton of crap installed; mindless extras I'll never need

The Good
- It's got a lot of Flash stuff (Flash MX, Dreamweaver, Freehand, Dreamweaver Firefox Fireworks (all legal; the previous owner (my cousin) got it from his school, hehe)
- It's got some good things, like, uh, an OS
- There appears to be no major problems with it atm, since it runs fine
- It's the fastest computer I've got right now

I need to decide: should I format this and reinstall another OS (preferaby 2000 or 98)?

If so, how would I retain some programs, like the Flash crap and a load of other memoriable files (like pictures)? There's nowhere I can put them right now... Also note that I don't have the CDs to install them, and he doesn't have them anymore.

If not, how am I going to rid this crap? There's far too much to sort through and I can't leave an AV on overnight/all day (which would likely happen -__-) so..

Yeah. I need some help here

FYI, Win ME is considered the worst Microsoft OS ever by most people; when I ran it I had enough problems (the taskbar disappearing beneath IE windows with Always On Top on, systray resetting, etc), and that was within 5 mintues...

Generally a HD seeking would be more or less random clicks without that much delay; I do need to get everything off of it ASAP though, as .. yep

I'm going to see if I can get a 2000 ISO off a filesharing network and burn it so I can install, since I don't have one (and finding one is a joke, heh)

Worst case I can just find all of the old programs.

----------

And as a side note, most of the uninstallers don't work. At all. They just idle and eventually crash

===================================
EDIT: I just figured I'd let you in on something:

I was planning on formatting becasue it's full of complete crap, almost nothing useful besides what I pointed out.

As I can't remove the wireless card from the G350, since this one needs access to the internet since I'm not allowed on the WXP one but I can use it for storage without them knowing, heh.

But to hook up that one, I'd need to disconnect the one I'd store things on...

Later today I'll do what Surlent suggestied, heh...

If you had a root folder (www.dumbpage.org/) you could also use a robots.txt file (Google it)

(kinda funny how long it took to get a decent response out of this thread)

There's an extremely old version of Norton on there; I think I'll uninstall that (die, norton) and will opt for something better like, uh, AVG or something.

Hopefully soon I can do this; after all, my stepmom might not let me disconnect her computer for a while and as I said I can't just do this... what I might do is just burn those programs to a CD and install them later, or something.

Yeah, I think he figured it out; all you'd have to do is stick it into a var, stripslash the var, then put the var in.

(It would've been far more interesting to have put it on October 31st; if anyone can figure out why, you get a cookie)

Yeah, Melvin's missing at the moment, but I'll let him know when he comes on, heh.

All in all I didn't find it very interesting or a very amazing thing to note (other than she was wearing a shirt with my state's name on it )

I don't know, mabye the whole prospect of someone being cut to death with a boxcutter just isn't that "wow", but... er.

Actually on topic somewhat: Whoever did that drawing could've done better

Given that this whole obsession with this girl started around July/August (it was before Melvin moved), try putting two and two together.

A google search might help you.

If you're hosting images for a layout, I advise you get hosting that doesn't suck (geoshitties/angelfire work nicely)

And for the bg not being transparent, you're all wrong. All he should do is set the BG color (it's green, obviously) as "Transparent" in all of the frames, he doesn't have to crop it (that'd still leave the problem), delete the base frame (that wouldn't work, either, unless every frame besides that one has transparancy... not to mention it may not be set to "Remove by nothing", it's probably "remove by background"...)

From the looks of it, the problem was resolved anyway.

YD: for the record, I'm using IE and just cut/pasted it and it worked fine, it's probably MacIE that's fucking up.

(god, I wish I had GIF Construction Set Professional right now)

It'd be nice to have something that would accellerate the freezing process in there (it takes roughly an hour for something to freeze in ours, heh)

But until then, the freezer works fine.
