OMG A NEW FIREFOX VERSION ITS AN ANNOUNCEMENT LOLOL

Guess what? This isn't the Firefox Official Forum. Firefox releases are not announcements.

Mabye in Hardware/Software, mabye not.

I'm officially sick of all of this bullshit of trying to force a certain browser on people. Note the lame ad on the bottom bringing the tally to 5 images. It's useless and doesn't fit in (same with most of them)... hell, the only one that fits in is the Big Boards one, and that's because it's near Gold (Acmlm-related things are generally gold on navy)... this board doesn't need a "Donate" link (it's not like it's in trouble, and the money doesn't even go to the board -- it goes to the IRC network), the Hosted by 50lbs could definitely be fixed, etc, but back on topic.

It seems like everyone here is trying to force people to use this browser. Between the ad on the bottom, the 10 different links in random layouts, and now this (lets post it in the general forum lololo its an announcement lololol) ... ugh.

Just keep this in mind. Firefox being released has absolutely nothing to do with General. It deals with Hardware/Software. It should be in Hardware/Software. If people care, they'll look. SImple enough.

Quite a bit (less than what I have, more than what you have)... I think it's around 1,250,000, but not sure, let me check.

EDIT: Wow, no FAQ has it, odd.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure it's around 1,150,000 - 1,225,000 range, it can't be too much worse...

Interesting tidbit: When you do fill it up, look at the "Records" version... if you keep raising your score, eventually another bar segment will appear after the end, and that'll fill up too... too bad mine went off the screen XD

Incidentally earlier today (early morning) I saw a thread where someone claimed something to the effect that Firefox will improve the internet's quality overall... that came to my mind ("Firefox is alright but it's not fucking God you morons") ... strange.

I'd like to see pages designed for whatever the fucking browser I use is, not a certain browser.

"Designed with XXXXXX in mind" / "Designed for ?" "Optimized for ?" is remarkably stupid and any page with it on loses 10 points instantly.

So what if IE is shitty, it's still used by over 75% of the Internet population and that will never change as long as M$ continues shipping it with IE preinstalled and integrated.

(note: I myself am using IE, and I haven't had any problems with it because I'm not a fucking retard who opens every email he gets and visits pages known to install things)

(note: I also use Opera on occasions (read: when I have a better computer) and will casually talk about it when browsers are the subject, but I don't post links everywhere and new threads and images and other bullshit when dealing with other subjects (see Leg's post on Firefox in the catgirls thread)

I just figured you should know this before saying "omg, you shud try other browzer you liek it more lololol," because I already have)

well quite simply.... this thread was posted in General.. so people who use firefox but don't read the hardware / software forum would know about it....

obvioulsy I don't read the hardware / software forum myself, or I would have seen Tarale's thread.....

Then mabye you should consider doing what a mod would do to this thread if it was created by any other member and trash it and post the info in the other thread. Or are you too good for that? Are you exempt from the rules?

Also, you (as an admin) and anyone else should probably check the H/S forum at least once a week to see if there were updates-- and ESPECIALLY if you're posting a thread about it, since it's obviously huge news that someone was bound to have posted.

If you don't like it... then you should probably stop fucking bumping it... so it will drop off the page sooner....

so good job.... go ahead and bump it again XK.... by all means... please.....

Logic says that given the subject, people will still post in this for a while. Not only that but when it's one of the top three threads that'd be pretty useless, thanks.

Just wondering, if you thought the idea was pointless, why post that you thought so instead of wasting time expressing how pointless it was instead of just letting the managers of this board decide wether or not to use them?

I prefer the way it is now. Silent editing seems like an extremely stupid idea (hehe, i'll edit out the flame silently) and not being able to tell who edited it before you did kind of ruins it (No, Jesper never edited it, I did. I just fixed some errors and noticed more)

(score goes up in increments of 50, not 5)

400,000 gives a Green -> Yellow change, about 800k gives Red, and the full bar is roughly 1,200,000.

It's tough.

When does a dub suck?
When they:

a) remove episodes
b) completely change major plot points
c) change the ending entirely
d) change the beginning entirely
e) change some character properties

And I can assure you, Erk, that you are wrong.

The buttons look much better now, at least it's not the mess it used to be (and the P. By Acmlm image is placed better, heh)

Overall probably no one will really care, but then again it probably wasn't that difficult to fix.

And I scroll to the bottom of the page often enough (I just hit "End" in threads for the newest post(s)).

Posted on 11-14-04 06:12 PM, in Firefox/Mozilla or no? -- The Debate Link
Opera > IE > Firefox > *

That's pretty much the way I see it, given on my original machine Opera did fine browsing, IE did considerably well, and Firefox lagged behind miserably.

I tried it, didn't like it. I'm too used to Opera/IE's interface.

(now, if you had said "Alternative Browsers", yes, I would've voted for that)

-----------

And I use IE at home on my tower because no other browser (except Lynx, probably, heh) will even RUN at a decent speed (I decided to finally get off my ass and get Opera, huge mistake. It barely loads, but what a suprise, it's a fucking 350 MHz ccomputer, ugh)

When I tried loading FF on my old 300, it was even slower loading that Opera (about 1m for FF and 40sec for Opera), plus Opera saves my pages if it quits. Firefox will do nothing if it crashes.

That, and I like how Opera is like a Swiss Army Knife in that it has pretty much anything I'll ever need in one convinient bow-tied package. No downloading of 500 plugins, no craptastic download manager (transparancy sucks, go away) etc. Firefox lacks mouse gestures, and I found no good/useful plugins on my short browse of the site (argh)

Oh well. My main problem with Opera is that it's set to ID as Internet Explorer by default (hehe, handy feature)

I never used this (hmm, I woder why) but it was a good idea letting people know that this probably won't be offered any longer, heh.

It was a nice idea, though.

You do realize that damn near everyone was offering to host the board in the downtime and not only Erk, right?

Erk got it because of boasting how kickass his server was (and assumably a few other things)

I also note that yes, as an admin all you did was ban me, but as an Acmlmboard developer, you abused that too (read Jesp's post(s))

Oh well. I'm just glad to be rid of him
