Instead of tabs, why not make it one of those fancy MDI child window things? Somewhat like how LM handles it (or so I think), except it only has one and it's maximized no matter what.

It seems fine, because then you'd be able to switch between windows, and if I'm remembering things correctly you could even possibly change up the window menus to handle the different things (Or at worst make it Save [Level | Music | Cheese] (pick one, idiots))

Joy for just popping in and saying hi, eh?

Reading further down the newreply page, I tend to like reordering obejects assigned to the scroll wheel (up = further behind, down = in front) and copying set to the right button.

At absolute WORST that could be togglable, or something.

When I get my other comp back (<3 TC300) I'll download the newest update and go crash it a few times for the hell of it Heh...

Why not make it variable width? With such a tiny text area it gets just a bit annoying

Whoops.

There are quite a few problems with that layout I found just from the source. Don't be surpsied about it not working in this, I tried one of my old ones (worked fine in Opera) and it was completely destroied in IE (two of them, actually)

It's no big suprise, it's just that... yuck. I don't think you fixed the color=0 problem, either.

Edit: Oh, shit, evidently my entire desktop got copied. Fuck. Oh well, it's still only 700 KB

Then again, on ocassions MIDIs are perfectly fine (namely in a certain comic) when they only start it when requested (IE, clicking a link that will start it) and warns you ahead (this particular one generally puts "(warning: midi music ahead)" before them

In other cases, it is bad.

<3 the old TC300. One channel sound card. If I am listening to a MP3/'MID already, nothing plays.

Nice job providing a dual-language site. Nice editor, too.

With this and Nephi (you know what'd be REALLY nice? An option to "Save -> Edit Overworld" which would close Nephi and open this one with the same ROM and vice versa. w00t.

With this I may get back into the active ROM hacking area instead of the passive one (Passive: just kinda following it, where Active is actually doing projects and such)

I've always wanted to see a sequel to the LA game

That's wild. Literally.

Now we just need the layout strawberry to blink "WILD" as well.

One in the middle of the post layout would probably give a nice payout "WILD-WILD-WILD" -> $$$

For the monospacing, use
. Example.

Sample monospaced font. Multiple spaces OK.
01 2345. Whee.

For the how-can-you-tell thing, you just find the IP that visited it and run a DNS on it, it'll generally tell you some data (for example of a googlebot visited the page, a DNS on the googlebot would return something like spider#.google.com or wahtever, it's been a while)

For everything else: Very nifty. Maybe I should find a Starfox ROM (I own the game, heh,, too bad you can't hack acutal cartriges ) and play with this new weapon.

How can you run out of ammo and/or how can you tell? o)O

Incidentally that's also why CMED (Crystal Mines Editor) was canceled. It's still downloadable and usable, if you don't mind only editing levels, for which it has full support (er, unless you add tiles-under-tiles, but... well, yeah.)

It was kind of frustrating when the program had been out for three days and a HUGE, VERY CRITICAL bug went unnoticed.

Sigh.

Edit: after reviewing my memories it had been FIVE days, not three.

TEK embarassed me further. "What game's this for?"

Evidently the large, blinking logo that said "CRYSTAL MINES EDITOR" wasn't a fucking big enough hint.

And in any case, it's too late. The editor's source is presumed dead.

Pity.

Restarting would require hooking up my old computer and getting it into a usable state (something I'd do anyway, but I have no real reason to do now) and grabbing the source, presuming I can ffind it, which I may not be able to. =\

Also, the main reason I killed it was a) lack of motivation, b) sheer disgust at the fact a huge bug went unnoticed for 5 days, c) sheer disgust again at people asking what game it edited (IT WAS FUCKING BLINKING AT THE TOP OF THE THREAD JEEZ), and d) the huge lack of anyone interested in it besides myself.

Seriously. I was the only one who even really noticed it existed (duh) and no one else. Imajin gets come credit for helping me figure out what the heck went wrong, and etc etc etc.

Others complained it was still in DOS and to, what was it, grow up and use VB or something? Grr.

Excuse me if it's programed on the slowest computer on the planet without any of those resources. If you want to hack a friggen game, you'll take hwatever you fucking get or make it yourself. Personally I still use a lot of DOS tools (<3 Hexposeure) and there's nothing wrong with them; on ocassion they're even better.

If I don't get much I'll just throw away the document/source after posting both in their unfinished entirety here, so that anyone who is interested can take it.

I'm not asking for popularity here, I'm just wanting to know that at least -someone- actually uses these things

EDIT: YAY FOR ACCIDENTALLY POSTING WITH OUT POLL OPTIONS
EDITSTICKS: Im' trying to get this one deleted so I can repost it with the actual options.

Polls should really have that kind of protection for no-choice polls, y ou know.
Oh, yeah... You might want to save your post for when it gets reposted

Paint, you idiots.

Last I checked Photoslop lacked a pixel-by-pixel zoom feature without antialiasing, which is good when I'm designing lame fonts for use in lame scripts that have absolutely nothing to do with anything lame-related (lamenews, et--) *shot*

Besides, Photoslop takes a good hour to load. I can make 2 fonts in the time it takes to load...

...complete with fancy schmancy gradients.

Even then it still antialiases (however slightly)

Considering I like a very large long line 1px wide to be all one color (white/black, not 1,1,1 and FE,FE,FE) for easier editing.

Then again I don't draw large, complex stuff in Photoshop. After all...
