The old one I used [the red one] was about two years old... literally.

If you notice, the -4k sign blinks, namely because it's coming up

...

This took me about an hour to make, most of which was attempting to get the stupid GIFs right [it would show it as black] and making my brown graident program work properly, since I wanted to continue testing it.

There's nothing fancy like new link colors or such. And it stretches/compresses to rediculous sizes:

Smallest I could get it.

Woo...

Yep. I was originally planning to save it and/or make it around 7-01 but I did it today while bored...

...

I'm never going to get out of that hole.

It's a really big, really deep hole.

It'd be wierd if it WASN'T dim. Light doesn't usually get that far down at average times...

EDIT: Whoops, it appears that the left side wasn't showing up for some people... this has been fixed with me replacing it with _.gif [blank] to keep it from saying "HEY THIS TDS BLANK LETS NUKE IT DUH".

Alrighty... [collapses] after about 50 tries with it... I finally got it working right.

I don't know whyu the original wouldn't work in IE because it worked in Opera perfectly.

Oh well... this code's a lot simpler, heh.

Seriously though, putting up with that sort of thing is a small price to pay to ensure a long lasting community for the game. I can think of dozens of excellent games, which people don't play anymore because the editing scene died. Because of Lunar Magic, that won't happen to SMW.

I, personally, view anything that allows easier creation of games/hacks to be a very good thing.

Sure, you have the n00bs who will make terrible hacks. But at the same time, there's the potential for people with great talents for level design and concepts who perhaps lack the programming knowledge to do such a thing themselves to realize their level designs thanks to a tool like LM. I can't see how this is possibly a bad thing.

knuck, that was *very* offensive. I put a lot of work into that, and you just outright insult me and the topic. I'm getting a mod/admin.
You guys can say "ono overrreacting" but I will just say "If someone breaks the rules, you get the admins. Common sense."
My opionion on the Workshop: I'm not fond of it [the EXGFX in there gets very old very fast] and I'm not going to use it. I'm not going to inult the people who do use it [well, okay, the ones who just blantantly take them without giving their own] because I know it takes forever and a half to do that kind of ripping and re-eding to make everything nice and spiffy.

In short, I hate how often it's used but I don't really mind its existance. I'm not going to go out and insult the thing and/or the people who use it. I just don't like it.

And on the other two posts, they've got a point. Without LM, this place would've died. People who say that just because you would have to use a hex editor it'd make hacks better are WRONG. Not only would this kill off most hackers people who edit the game, it'd make hacks take forever to complete. I'm not sure you'd want to go back and have the SAME overworld, the SAME level placement, and a lot of oter stuff the same, eh?

Think about it. Who's going to keep a list of SMW levels in hex around? Seeing these new levels, who would really have enough time to re-expand the levels over and over each time they added a new one? I'm sure you'd love to be stuck with mabye 100 objects per level or so, eh?

With hex editing, continue to think about it: Who in their right mind would waste time making custom blocks? You'd be too busy trying to get everything right and such.

Think about it.

I figured anyone who hadn't played it would've checked Zophar.

I was wrong. Oh well. Now that I think about it, who would? Even though it's listed right there, it's a pain in the ass to get to, and not many even submit hacks there, as far as I can tell.

But yes, the Dr Mario hack by Wario.

I was listing it because he DID change the mario sprites [headbnad, white suit] but it's a Wario game. It's destined to suck.

And suck it did.

if someone that has it would be kind enough to upload it...

Why are you complaing about a <500b file?

Load it once. Maximum 5 types [New, Hot New, Hot, Off, Off Hot] * ~500 = 2.5k or so.

And I'm on a PII 300, and there' snot a single problem for me... it'd be a waste of options as far as I"m concenred.

I'm on AOL 56k, mind you

Actually, there's not much of a MS PAINT theme this go around.

Granted, much like my avatar, all editing was done in it [minus the dimming] but the grads were from Qbasic, although from a program I wrote so I guess it stil counts

And yes, adding a candle would be a pain, one because I can't edit his sprite for crap and 2 when I do my 'other side' layout version it'll be even more in the pain of my ass.

...

Er, pain in the ass. Whoops.

Posted on 06-15-04 04:19 PM, in How do you even post 600 times in one day? Link
You don't nessacarily have to read over an ENTIRE THREAD every single time you want to reply. Especailly if you've posted in it before.

In general, 600 is difficult to achieve, yes, but it's been done thanks to a certain spree a good portion of the board [eh, 20 users? XD] had on New Year's.

It was all fun though.

Oh, and by the way, you're thinking of a custom title. You get layouts for free XD

Actually, the reason it does that is because the layout doesn't go far enough by default to fill the whole cell.

Why "height=100%" doesn't work is beyond me.

EDIT: Do the colors look off for anyone else?

I do too, although the fact it'd always put Tuvai as the one ahead [with -200 something posts] ... eh.

Although that, on the other hand, doesn't seem as hard to implement

I'm suprised I didn't dream about that [then again, given I slept for less than an hour at a time...] since all last night me and Melv were going on about this pinball machine that kept giving me free games [REPLAY! I don't see a new thread coming out every time a new version of Opera comes out.

What's the big fucking deal about Firesux that makes it so goddamn special? I tried it [yes, I did, so shut up]

And considering that I just downloaded the most recent version-- 0.8-- yesterday, I'm not going to bother with getting 0.9. It sucks. Period.

I hate it. Not only does it take an assload of time to load [almost 20 seconds and lags my computer while doing so; IE takes about 5 [but sucks] and Opera takes about 15 but doesn't lag my comp] but then it takes about 2 seconds for it to realize "Hey, he pushed down! Scroll the page!"

I still hate it. I hated it when it was called Firebird. I hate it now.
