Hmm. Quite funny to read thanks to Bablefish, but what the hell was he smoking when he wrote that?

A refugee from DES?

Considering that they have  9  8 days left, I'm not suprised.

I wonder how many we'll get before it finally dies. . .

But, yes, welcome. You seem to be one of the few intelligent newbies to Acmlm's, but since you came from another board I'm not quite suprised.

{utting in the URL manually worked for me, but... eh. A 190 something KB image for a background is bad; not to mention the whole thing's fixed width at a whopping 800 pixels [jesuschrist] ... consider making it stretchy.

And it might be wise to just dump the DIV tags and use table tags instead...

But the BG's okay minus the size. Just fix a few things

Posted on 06-02-04 12:15 PM, in CMED v1.0 RELEASED! Link

Get it!
Yep, it's here, finally.

In the poll, RED means it's going to be excessively hard to do [possibly impossible], GRAY means I can do it but don't yet have the info on doing it and/or would require a lot more time, and GREEN means it'll be easy, or even in the works.

Please be sure to report any bugs in this, so I can get them fixed properly and quickly
Unfortunately Crystal Mines isn't that popular of a game, but I figured it'd be a good place to start, and I kinda like the game. Melvin does too, and mabye I can get him to make a hack? =D

There's also a hidden easter egg somewhere in here... I had forgotten some code in the program that would output text on a key [to make sure it was the right scan code for later] and I forgot about it; before release I just shrugged it off as kinda nifty and changed the text

As with the last release, there's no README, because, really, most stuff is self-explanatory, and if you have questions just ask them in this thread.

Thanks for using it
Here are some shots...

This would be the main area, after putting in a level

Going to "Edit Level" will take you to this screen, where you pick the object to paste.

This is two things; one, the main editor you use. Note the current object info. Hitting "DEL" will put a blank tile there; I added blank to the list because it's faster to use space when clearing large areas in my opinion.

It's also the 1.0 tribute level, which I will use later [mabye] in a hack I'm going to make with all the diffrent tribute levels in it. Heh.

This would be the editor before it got added to CMED. Note the diffrent text, and also, try and spot the 'major' error here

Bleh, sometimes I wonder how these people can even register.

By the way, read the FAQ.

Hence why tables [or one of those super-layout stuck up designers would say CSS, I say the fux CSS] would be a better choice...

It wouldn't depend on someone not stretching the tables. Considering that your layout would be badly tiled from the resolution I use anyway ...

Easy way to do it would be to just have it like how mine [and probably several others do], just have
1-----2-----3
4---TEXT----6
7-----8-----9]
where --- = repeating and 8 = images.

Ask someone else how to do it htough; I know how but I'm not in the mood nor akake enough to do so.

Gah, Wheezel, it's not a bad link, just let the guy post it, sheesh... he doesn't care, 1.8a is old and lame now :p

But you can also go my way, again, and make your own like Wheez did [although I believe I did mine before his, even though his does lowercase [but my LC font looked like shit]

Ask me and mabye I'll give you the source. Mabye.

It's something of an error; basically, when using PRINT, it wouldn't overwrite the text on the entire line; if you're using text of different legenths, you're dead, basically, unless you stick a " " at the end or just use a PRINT USING statement. =P

The three objects used before that shot were:
creature protection
extra life
blank

=P

I managed to see it before it got edited, heh.

I guess Knuck doesn't want people to know and/or is insane.

Eh.

I hope Acmlm doesn't kill me for stealing his little 'trick' he played a looooong time ago.

And another few of us won't be able to.

Then again, they fixed the .txt thing in Opera 7.25, so it's good.

Nice try with the images, though. [it's not working]

May I redirect you to the post in which I linked to the photo of Knuck from the OldAcmlm album [which I stole from Acmlm]?

Odd how all of these pictures are popping up now, eh?

I could see it coming if your entire post was like that, but it wasn't.

It's nice to see someone joking with it sometimes, other than someone who uses it on purpose

We had TechTV on Channel 62 [Basic, about everything above 69 or so is Digital..] and ... well... ... they removed it to put on another fucking spanish channel [normally I wouldn't complain, but there's at LEAST 10 now... all on basic, haha]

I don`t think we get G4 either... I'll have to check next time I go to my grandma's; they have digital, at least... here we don't even have fucking cable...

How in the hell did you manage that, unless you recompiled it or something...

I simply changed a string in a hex editor [we`ll say "Test" for example]...

"Test" to "eTst" resulted in an error... I thought it was a simple checksum, too Doing that should've kept it true... but... eh.

[shrugs] Most older keyboards [like mine] won't be able to handle 3 keys total much less THAT disaster

Edit: Holy shit, it worked. Wow. It wasn't even that hard. Just pushed them one at a time, managing to take forever for M+O+INS... oh well. It worked.

heh.
