Just one severely flawed part in that plan -- Link's sprite tiles (IE, the tile they refrence) never changes -- all it does is change the 4 tiles in RAM when needed.

Yes, it sucks.

Parasyte said he found how, but unfortunately I don't have the v1.2 ROM and can't check it

That's what it was like actually: He took a screenshot from some MIDI or whatever editor (Cubase or whatever), changed the title bar in paintbrush and was stupid enough to put it online, claiming that this was a screenshot of his 1337 music editor. Then, he released demo world ory hack thing with Bouche's SMB1 music patch (which was , as opposed to the still more common SMB3 one, almost entirely unknown by then) and claimed that he had ... what did he call it? ... "costom music" in it. Again, some silly ones believed him.
Lemme see if I still can find one of his smartass music editor screenshots~

I do believe that I pointed out several of the problems in one of my painbrush sprees. It was far too easy to find the obvious edits.

Though I did not know abuot his costom SMB1 music hack. I must not have paid much attention after flagging him as a moron.

May I point out that the overly OH MY GOD HOW DARE YOU reaction to Nebetsu's thread lower on the board is somewhat over the top. Episode 1 and 2 did rather suck. No good characters, rather bleh acting. I'm a Star Wars fan, too.

EDIT: Nah, if you were used to actual gender switching via magic and such every now and then you'd get used to it and realise how generally harmless it was, y'see?
