Because you have something in the clipboard, and it does the same as what you do with pasting into the URL bar. Simple solution is: Edit->Preferrences->Advanced->Use Autoscrolling. Or even easier: Don't middle-click on accident.
That is on, that's the thing.

And it's kind of hard to do, given that my middle button is extremely sensitive and sticky for some reason

Sorry, I'm not downloading any other browser -- especially one where I have to compile the source, because I much prefer binaries -- so that is a little bit of a stupid argument

I have two email accounts (a gmail one I never check (guess what that is!) and my cymoro.com one) and I never get any spam -- or actual mail, for that matter -- on the cymoro.com one.

Before that I just had an email account that -- suprise! -- I never used, but then again no one needed to talk to me and vice versa (back when I was 10 or so, 6/7 years ago)

So... yeah. Doesn't hotmail offer a forwarding service? You could use that (when it comes back)
