It's not a part of the universe, they might as well just change the name to something like Tales of the Mother Lode and change people's names around. With the exception of a guy in blue armor and someone named Roll, there's nothing similar about the Legends storyline, timeline, or gameplay as far as other Megaman games go. Saying Legends is just like all of the other Megaman serieses is like saying Breath of Fire is like Dragon Warrior because both of them have some vague affiliation with large fire-breathing lizards. There's so much Capcom could do with this series, Turn it into a whole universe all its own and KEEP IT SIMPLE at the same time. They've obviously learned from the huge mistake they made with the X series; the plotlines in other serieses (BoF, Battle Network, evne the original series) have gotten considerably less ludicrous ever since the sixth X game (which is where it all really went to hell). Even the X series itself, which is where I think all of Capcom's problems have stemmed, has started to pick itself back up with this RPG that's coming along, they might even be able to stabilize the plot a bit and turn the X series, and Megaman in general, back into the interesting, action-packed powerhouse it was in the old days of the NES and SNES.

And as for what is what:

Megaman, Megaman X, and Megaman Zero all take place in the same universe, they're three consecutive pieces of a long plot. Sequels for the original series are pretty much shot, unless Capcom severely changes the game formula away from the 8 robot masters thing or does something like a transitional game between X and Original, Megaman's done for. As for the X series, I'd like to see Capcom start wrapping it up and showing what makes X do the things he does in Zero. All of the serieses need to have an ending at some point, it's just a matter of time before Capcom gets around to it. At that point, Clockworkz, you'd get your wish, and Megaman would finally be dead. Eventually Capcom will realize that nobody wants to play the same game all over again, they're beginning to learn that now (every new Battle Network game has had severe tweaking, I think it's becoming Capcom's test board for new ideas...).

Maybe once the main universe dies, they'll continue Legends, having learned from their experiences.

Interesting you should say that considering Capcom once said somewhere that the MegaMan Legends series takes place about three thousand years after the Zero series, which places the Legends series somewhere around the year 52XX(I'm just guessing).
The original series, the X series, the Zero series and the Legends series are all in the same timeline while the Battle Network series is more of a "what if" story.
But even then, it's illogical for it to be a part of the main timeline once you think about it.

I can't really point you to any source other than the book called "Rockman Memories" where Capcom briefly states that the Dash series connects. And as for the whole "52XX" thing, I only guessed that it would take place then because they also said it takes place about three thousand years after the X/Zero series.

Posted on 10-02-04 07:51 AM, in well.....what do you know Link
Daniel made it pretty clear that Nintendo didn't shut him down, Yahoo just shut his website down. You'd know this if you went to ZFGC. And besides that, it was fake. Always has been. Right now, nobody even likes or believes him anymore, even his best online friend.

And now I need something to finish this post off with... I've got nothing.

Well since you asked, I watched all 3 series. GT, I just plain hate it, DB was all right it and DBZ was pretty good. I rather buy the DVD than watch it on CN because CN edits the cool fight scenes to where there is no blood and they have about 3 commercial breaks. I like the manga too, I read it more than watching the series. There's one thing I can't stand about watching the series.

Actually, the current airing of Dragonball Z on Cartoon Network is entirely uncut...and redubbed. Though, I must agree that the three commercial breaks is rather annoying. I liked it better when there was only one commercial break.

I've had at least one dream and that was a long time ago. Although, it wasn't a DBZ dream, it was a DB one. I really enjoyed that.

Posted on 09-16-05 10:54 PM, in Official English RPG Maker XP released! Link
I apologize if this was already mentioned before, but I did a bit of searching and didn't come across this. I felt that everyone here should be informed that Enterbrain has finally released RPG Maker XP here in the US.

For those interested:

The official English page for RPG Maker XP can be found here:
http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RPG_XP/eng/

And where you can buy/download the trial:
http://www.download.com/RPG-Maker-XP/3000-7537_4-10437118.html?tag=lst-0-1

This is a rare occasion indeed, and their expectations for how many will sell are rather low. Show your support and prove them wrong, they may never do this again.
