Go here

Now, click on a thread.
If the first post has a link, click on it.
If you arrive at a board, it sucks.

(Or just check out all the threads with "forum" in their name. They usually lead to boards.)

As for the Nintendo.no board itself, it was horrible about a year ago. Lazy admins who didn't delete spam or ban idiots, good users getting annoyed at idiots and the admins' inactivity left the board, idiots invited their idiot friends over... Yeah, not a fun place. Finally, the staff decided to promote some users, which helped a bit. The problem was, of course, that these newly promoted mods couldn't ban the idiots, and the admins still didn't care enough to do anything.

Eventually, the high and mighty uber-admin decided to promote a few of the mods to admins, get a few new mods, and demote most of the old, inactive admins.

So the board is pretty decent now.

Eh, I dunno.
I like those vodka-filled chocolates, so I don't see why this wouldn't taste good.

Then again.. vodka-flavored ice-cream?
Well, at least it sounds better than bubblegum-flavored (which tastes like crap, btw).

Sherbet sounds like a much better idea (Haven't tried those yet).

There was a series of remakes released for the PSX in Japan (MM1-6). I believe they're the ones to be put on the Anniversary Collection.

Adamant enters the palace looking for SomerZ
Adamant: Hello! SomerZ! I need you to take me to wherever Kirby is!
Voice: He's not here.
Adamant: Guh?
Adamant turns around, but can't see anyone. Suddenly, a person drops from the ceiling, and taps his shoulder
Maijin: Ah, Adamanto-chan. You need to be aware of you surroundings.
Adamant: Well I didn't expect to be attacked inside the palace.
Maijin: And that is where you fail. Someruzetto-san is not here. He just left to find.. what he called a puffubooru.
Adamant: Kirby. Right. I need to go there as well. And. I know I'm gonna regret this. Can you. take me there.
Maijin: Most certainly. Go wait in the Mai Furerushippu, while I get some gas for the journey. Kaabinaito-san, right?
Adamant: Uh-huh. I'll go pack my parachute.
Maijin: Weakling.

Full name: Maijin Miyamoto
Age: 21 as per today.
Hometown: Tokyo
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 145 lbs
Job: Undercover agent. Home base in Turkey. Lives in Floatia to fight/get info on the various aliens that tend to attack that place.
Signature attire: grey shirt, dark blue jeans, black trench coat, black boots
Hair color: Dark blue.
Eye color: Brown
Hair: Long, in a pony-tail
Species: Human
Structure: Some muscles. Very agile.
Weapon of choise: Katana, gun, whip, claws and shurikens.
Family: Japanese mother, american father. Claims to be a direct decendant of Musashi Miyamoto.
Girlfriend: Faris. For some obscure reason.

Notes: Maijin speaks english with a thick japanese accent. He also trow in suffixes at the end of names (He calls Adamant "Adamanto-chan", which Adamant doesn't like very much). He's VERY smug, and thinks highly of himself. He's not at all gay, although he might seem that way at first, due to his voice, accent, and smugness. He's not very faithful when it comes to women, and prefers one night stands. Somehow, he's still with Faris, most likely due to her not knowing about all the other women. Maijin has a (very) small spaceship called the May Flareship. It's meant for one person, but he always manages to squeeze others in as well. The gas tank is extremely small, and the ship tends to crash land.

He can be pretty damn annoying at times, but he's a good fighter, has access to a lot of useful information due to his job, and can be a good drinking buddy once he's drunk enough.

No, it's not an unofficial controller for some console.
And no, it doesn't have anything to do with porn either.

This happens to be one of them Famiclones. You know, controllers you plug directly into the TV which contain games you'd find on NES multicarts.

Well, I happened to stumple across one, and it was only 100 kr (about 15$, which is 1/5th or 1/6th (or 1/7th if the store sucks, but there's usually a better one not too far away if that is the case) the price of a normal game over here. Yes, games are expensive.)

Anyway, the package contains what seems to be an N64 controller, sans a control stick, a Z-trigger and the L/R buttons, a PSX controller without L/R buttons, and a totally badass lightgun. As well as some wires and a battery pack, in case you have a portable TV or something. Oh yeah, and the thing is british, so the AC/DC adaptor didn't fit. The store was nice enough to throw in a scandinavian one for free though.

On to the games. The box boasts about 64 games, which is obviously a lie, as with most multicarts. After hooking the thing up and turning it on, one is greeted with a menu where one may choose what game to play, like most multicarts. And yes, there are 64 games on the list.

Here they are:

POKEMON
TEKKEN
WORLD CUP SOCCER
MICKEY MOUSE
TETRIS 2
DUCK HUNT
HOGAN ALLEY
SUPER MARIO
TENNIS
CLAY SHOOT
WRESTLE WAR
F1 RACE
100 METER DASH
LONG JUMP
HURDLES
JAVELIN
SKEET SHOOTING
TRIPLE JUMP
ARCHERY
HIGH JUMP

The rest of the games are the same titles, just with two letters and a copyright mark added to them (DUCK HUNT C(C)F for instance). 64 games my ass.

Anyway, we stil lhave a decent collection of games. Let's have a look at them.

POKEMON:
As there obviously aren't any official NES Pokemon games, and the possibility of this being a port of one of the GB games is very slim, I thought this was one of those recent Pokemon hacks where the title screen and main character of a classic NES game is changed into a pokemon. Well, it isn't. This appears to be a homebrewn game, which I had never heard of before. Sadly, it's very dull. It's a platformer where you control Pikachu as he runs around the forest, kills plants and stuff that aren't pokemon-related, avoids spikes, collects pokeballs for energy, and uses his deadly "kill everyone on screen"-attack, which can only be used a few times before you have to wait for some unspesified amount of time until it can be used again. I played the first level, which was both long and un-fun, realised that the second level was very similiar, except for platforms being in different locations, and promptly turned the thing off.

TEKKEN:
Please don't let it be that crappy Tekken 2 pirate. Please.. It was. Dammit.

WORLD CUP SOCCER:
Yeah, I thought this was that Kunio game too. It's not, it's just that old Soccer game you can get on Animal Crossing and e-cards. Ah well, this one's kinda fun too. At least it's much better than the FIFA and ISS crap you get nowadays *raises flame shield*

MICKEY MOUSE:
I had never heard of this game before, but according to the Video Game Museum, it does exist. It was even released in the US. It's not that good though. You control both Mickey and Minnie at the same time, as they run around a house, picking up stuff, shooting balls at enemies, and dying a lot due to the sucky controller.

TETRIS 2:
I thought this would just be plain old Tetris, but appearantlypirates have gotten original recently, since this actually IS Tetris 2. Never seen it on a multicart before. Pretty fun as well. You know, you make lines with blocks to drop crap on your opponent's screen, then he gets pissed and hits you with the controller. Fun stuff.

DUCK HUNT:
Yay, Duck Hunt. Finally a use for that light gun. Too bad it doesn't work very well. You can aim directly at a duck, and the game registers a miss, but you can also aim at some random point on the screen and it registers a hit. Not fun.
Also, the game doesn't operate very well. When you start it, you go directly to the One Duck mode, and when you get a game over, the game sends you to the Clay Pidgeon Mode, where you sped the rest of your session. Meh.

HOGAN ALLEY:
It's Hogan's Alley, no big surprise here. The menu is there this time, though, and all three modes are present. For some reason, the gun acts as it should here. Mostly.
Anyway, it's a fun little game. Especcially the barrel shooting.

SUPER MARIO:
I though this'd be SMB, and I was right. Although the title screen is now an ugly mess that kinda looks like the cover of the japanese SMB2 (Lost Levels). Also, when you beat Bowser and talk to Toad, the music turns into some random crap. It return to normal as you start the next level.
TENNIS:
It's Tennis. You know, the one on Animal Crossing and the e-cards. Just as I thought.

CLAY SHOOT:
Now this is weird. This is Duck Hunt, but unlike the other version, this starts you directly at the Clay Pidgeon mode. Odd. The gun is still crap, though.

WRESTLE WAR:
Here I was expecting Pro Wrestling, but instead I get a very odd japanese wrestling game. It almost appears as a graphic hack of a Kunio game, although I'm pretty sure there weren't any Kunio wrestling games. Anyway, you control this wrestler, and have to beat the other wrestler. You can jump, punch, jump-kick, throw, and plant your ass in your opponents face. Just like on TV. However, at times, this guy appears outside the ring and throws a flashing ball toward you. Whomever picks it up turns invincible, which means he tends to beat the crap out of the other one.
Pretty fun, actually, but very, very weird.

F1 RACE:
Classic NES game I had never played before. Drive your car around a track before time runs out. It's hard as hell, so prepare to throw some nasty words at the dumbasses on the track that won't let you pass.

100 METER DASH
LONG JUMP
HURDLES
JAVELIN
SKEET SHOOTING
TRIPLE JUMP
ARCHERY
HIGH JUMP:
It's Track & Field, except you can choose which stage to start at. T&F is always fun, although the 1-player controller (the N64 one) is an ass when it comes to this game, due to the stupid design.

All the other games are repeats, although the SUPER MARIO versions start you off at different levels. The virst repeat starst you off at level 3-1, and the second at level 4-1.

Oh, and as an extra bonus, the "console" supports famicom carts. Time to import.

So, was it worth it? I say yes. SMB, Tennis, Track & Field, Tetris 2 are fun, and Soccer and F1 Race are decent as well. And Mickey Mouse isn't THAT bad.
Plus, it was really cheap, and if the famicom support is good, I'll have some fun with this one.

Los Angeles. US. Yeah, you knew where it was.
Adamant, dressed in his mage getup, was battling a mysterious person inside an abandoned warehouse (these tend to be everywhere in super hero stories, don't they?). His opponent was a tall, muscular man. About 7'5". His skin was all white, his eyes were green, and he sported a light blue mohawk. He was wearing a white suit with a silver jacket, and looked like he came from the 80s or something. He called himself Blizzard Man. He was a human from the world Adamant got his powers, where he, like many others who were born with mana in their blood, studied magic. But, instead of working for the government, Blizzard Man took up a career of crime. After a short solo career, he started working together with two other mages, Fire Man and Thunder Man. The three each specialized in one specific field of magic (much like how Adamant specializes in Fire), turning them into a considerable threat. During a raid on the Hexagon, the three discovered the portal between their world and our, and decided to explore this new world, while getting rich along the way, as noone could really do much about a couple of guys who shoot fire, ice and lightning out of their hands. Of course, the three were eventually defeated, and sent back to their dimension where the authorities would take care of them. But recently, a mysterious criminal had appeared in LA, with "the power to freeze what he pointed his hands at". Adamant immediatley suspected Blizzard Man, and set off towards LA to defeat the villain again. Adamant eventually found him as he was robbing a gold transport, and chased him all the way to this warehouse.

Adamant: Blizzard Man! This is it!
Blizzard Man: Hah. So you may think. You should know, I do always have one trick up me sleeve.

Adamant fired a few Fireballs towards Blizzard Man, who immediately countered by creating a pillar of ice directly in front of him. The pillar immedialy melted as the Fireballs hit, but Blizzard Man was prepared.

Blizzard Man: Ah, Adamant. It is truly sad to see you reduced to this. Really. It is a shame.
Adamant: What?

Blizzard Man had moved behind some nearby crates

Blizzard Man: I really did want to do this. Your suffering provides great enjoyment for me. But I am afraid I can not stick around a observe. Sad, but it is the truth. Farewell!

The villain fired a big ball of ice toward the ceiling. As it hit, it turned into a bunch of icicles that fell toward Adamant. Without thinking, Adamant fired an Explotion spell towards them... This, of course, burned down some support beams, and the entire building ended up collapsing over our hero, as the pale villain escaped, laughing like a maniac.

(And for the record, no, I didn't make up Blizzard Man now. I've used him before, and he was considerably less lame then. He also doesn't have anything to do with a certain Mega Man character of the same name. (neither does Fire Man and Thunder Man (Thunder Man is a Battle Network character, in case people didn't know))

Plus the spells have to be bought, but it's not like D&D in where you can only memorize a set number of spells. I think.

You can get 3 spells per level per character. There are 4 black and 4 white spells per level.

This makes for some semi-hard choises, especcially (okay, only) when using the Red Mage (although the level 5 white spells are all good. While the level 4 ones all suck. Who needs a spell that cures Mute, a condition only 3 monsters in the entire game can cause? And two of them have Mute at the end of their spell list, so unless the battle lasts for more than 10 rounds (which it doesn't), those enemies won't ever cast that spell. Oh yeah,a nd Mute is cured after battle anyway. Plus, if you're muted, you can't cast the Amut spell, so it's even more worthless.

As for FF2, it's the good old "you can learn 16 different spells, choose wisely"-system. Most FF2 spells are crap, though. Get Cure, Life, Heal, Exit, and some attack spell (Fire is good), as well as Ice for those damned turtles and their Uber-defense, and you're set. (or just get Ice, and screw Fire)

Well.. the so-called "super-powerful" spells are pretty crappy, and you need to level up way too much before you can use them anyway.

There's really no need for 2 Red Mages anyway. Most Black Magic suck anyway, so a single Red Mage could manage to squeeze most useful spells into his spell list.
And you can bring another Fighter.

Thus, 3 Fighters and one Red Mage is the best possible party.

Unless you overlevel, you only have about one shot of that magic. Not worth dragging that worthless BM through all the other dungeons for.
