You'll have missed the complete scene however. This happens on every PC. Congrats to Capcom.

I think it's possible to exit to windows and then return to the game a bunch of times to make the scene continue. Well, it worked sometimes for me, but I never got too far due to the bugs. Damn, I hate this game.

But really, the worst bug ever:

Impossible Mission (Atari 7800):
Basically, some items you need to beat the game are located in places where you can't get them. Yay.

You could hop down from there and end up in another part of the map, or another map entirely. You could really fuck your game up like this if you end up in the wrong place I also noticed this got fixed in the GBC version of the game.

Also fixed in later version of the cartridge (or the european version?), as the one I have doesn't have the glitch. It doesn't have the "drop down a pit in Moldorms room, then jump, and you'll end up in glitchy land. Doing it on my cart simply sends you to the stairs, just like if you exited the room normally.

If you train her as a mage, I'd recommend Cane and Shield, though pretty much everybody seem to prefer Bow and back row. The problem is that she wont get hit much in the back row, and thus wont really gain any HP until enemies start flinging powerful magic around that'll hit her no matter what, and then it's kinda too late. 20 HP doesn't really help when you're at a point where everybody have at least 10 times that, even if physical attacks won't affect you.

Milly is the only one with any real power nowadays.

But yeah, ethics. I'd never download roms for a system I can easily go buy (GBA, pretty much). It just doesn't feel right.

As for older consoles, well, I never had a NES or a SNES. I have a GB and a GBC, but those aren't easy to get games for nowadays, and besides, most of the games I emulate are games that were never released in Europe anyway.

I do have a Famiclone and about 10 carts, though, and it is indeed a lot more fun to play them on your TV than on the computer screen. (Well, apart from the early Dragon Quest games and their damned passwords. And carts with dead batteries, which I luckily don't have. All my battery backup-supporting games have a working battery.)

But yeah, I don't like GBA emulation, and tend to be stricter when it comes to that as opposed to older consoles on forums where rom linking is absolutely forbidden and reason for long bans.

And as for arcade emulation, I have to drive for 2 hours to find an arcade, and they obviously don't have all the games I want to play anyway. I don't find anything wrong about emulation obscure things that I'll never be able to play without emulation. (and in this case, all arcade games are obscure, since they aren't found anywhere around)

Okay, what's going on NOW?

A timed worm seems to be deleting websites all over the internet, and oddly enough, there is absolutely NO information anywhere.

Anyone?

I didn't read about it, I simply found multiple sites with the exact same message all over.

Here, Pokemopolis has been affected as well.

It seems to be a rather recent outbreak, so I guess Slashdot and the other sites simply haven't gotten around to reporting it yet.

Manga is still a fairly recent thing in Sweden, and anime is even more uncommon. Apart from a few shops that sell imported, overpriced american DVDs, your best bet would be importing. Or downloading.

Kitten Yiffer: Yeah, I heard about .hack and CCS being aired in Sweden. Are they dubbed or subbed?

I'm in telemarketing.

It's a boring ass job where I sit on my ass in front of a computer and read questions about various products out loud to some random guy I call up. The guy then proceeds to yell at me, before hanging up.

But the pay isn't bad, and the coffee machine has very cheap coffee. (25 cent a cup)

He's the same age as Link in OoT.

Which doesn't make sense, as the OoT Link that defeated Gannon was 17.
All the 10-year-old Link did was to grab the Master Sword, and allow Gannon to get the Triforce, which doesn't really make a good role model for the kids.

No. The only "proof" people have is the fact that you see Link sailing home to Hyrule in the ending.
The Zelda and Link of the Oracle games had never met before. Obviously, it doesn't involve any of the Links we've played as earlier, as they've all met a Zelda.

As for what order they happen it, it doesn't really matter, as the same events will take place no matter which game you play first.

As for when the Oracle games take place, the plot deals with
Spoiler:
the Complete Triforce sending the hero Link to another land, where he is to stop the revival of Gannon.

The correct order would be

Ocarina of Time > Majora's Mask | The Wind Waker | A Link to the Past > Link's Awakening | Oracle of something > Oracle of something else | The Legend of Zelda > Adventure of Link

Then there's the Vaati games, but the only one I've played is Four Swords +, and it was in japanese, so I didn't really get the story. It definitly takes place AFTER OoT > MM, though.

No, it's pretty well stated that Ocarina of Time is the first one, I believe. Though, both it and Link to the Past explain how Ganon acquired the power he has...

Yeah, LttP pretty much describes the events of OoT in the intro, and a few other places (like the tree guy near Palace of Darkness). OoT simply expands upon this legend, and let gamers experience them themselves.

He was indeed in FF6, and went by the name "Cactrot" in the US version.

The famed 1000 Needle attack, called "Blowfish" in the translation, was learnable by Stragos as a blue magic spell.

He was located in a desert somewhere in the world of ruin. Forgot where, but there can't be THAT many deserts.

Posted on 01-03-05 01:28 AM, in Super Mario Advance 4 E-Reader Cards Link
They are definitly worth it. The new levels are awesome, and.. well.. the rest of the cards are actually pretty meh. The movie cards are decent enough, if you don't already know the trick they show you, but I guess you can find them described online somewhere. Apart from the Feather card, which is badass, the item cards are crap. You can just abuse Toad houses if you want items.

If you already have an e-reader, go for it. If not... well... The Mario cards are the only decent cards released outside Japan. I guess the Pokemon cards are okay if you're really into those games (scan them, and you'll face some new trainers with high-levelled pokemon. There are also some for getting hidden berries that are probably really good.). Then there's the NES cards, which take about a minute to load, and don't support 2 players. Most of those games are available on Animal Crossing anyway. Speaking of Animal Crossing, those cards give you new items that are usually rather easy to obtain in the game. Joy. Oh, and they are trading cards, which means you'll have to buy a billion of them to get those exclusive cards that contain stuff you can't get otherwise (2 NES games, and a couple of Station Models. Not all of them, for some reason. You'd think they would be more popular than random furniture anyone can get)
Then there's the Pokemon TCG cards, which started out as somewhat cool (minigames and shit, too bad they all require multiple cards to load), but currently consist of pokedex info and other crap noone cares about.

Japan got all these cool Pikmin 2 and Mega Man Battle Network 4 cards, while us english-speaking gents got all the crappy stuff. The e-reader didn't sell well in US, so noone bothered to adapt the good cards to this market. And they weren't released in Europe at all. Sad, really.

Well, it's up to you.

BTW, does anyone know a place that sells Mario Advance 4 Series 2 cards, and ship them to Europe? Amazon are being assholes with their new shipping policy.

Well, Twinrova did at least revive Gannon in the Oracle games. Yeah, Twinrova DID die, but Gannon has died three times already. I guess Gannon ressurected the Twinrova or something. I mean, he IS supposedly all-powerful.

Okay, about Four Swords, I took a look at the plot, and I'd say it takes place after Link's Awakening, with the same Link.

Let's look at the facts:

1) Zelda knew Link. That pretty much rules out this being all new characters.
2) Zelda summoned Link. This would be kinda hard after OoT/MM, as Link was travelling.
3) He was summoned to some shrine Zelda knew about, with a legendary hero who slew Vaati, blah blah. Rules out this being set right after Wind Waker, I'd guess.
4) After LttP, Link set out on a journey to train in case evil would return. (and LA takes place as he is returning to Hyrule) I kinda doubt he'd feel a reason to do this if evil did return and he saved the day once again..

Makes sense, eh? No, I haven't seen the ending, and have no idea what really happens in the game storywise, but it can't be THAT complicated, as it allows you to choose your level.

And I have no idea what the hell happens in Four Swords +, apart from the return of Vaati (who escapes from the Four Sword seal again, so this being the tale of the original hero who slew Vaati is out of the question. Maybe the Minish Cap Link is that guy? I dunno. Anyone?) and Gannon being involved (though I have no idea whether Vaati revived him or anything. Could someone who played the game in english sum up the plot?
