I have a decent GB multicart with gems like Wario Blast, Jurassic Park 2, Crazy Castle 2, Tetris (well, I can play multiplayer now, at least), The Smurfs, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, ect. It claims to have 17 games, but it's more like 12. But those 12 are mostly great games, so who cares.

I also have that Namco joystick with Pac-Man, Galaxian, Rally X, Dig Dug and Bosconian. A nice collection.

But yeah, stay the hell away from Action 52. There's more action in a bowl of oatmeal.

I bought DBZ: Legenary Super Warriors (GBC) a few days ago. (It was cheap. Only $30. And that's cheap in Norway. $85 is what games usually cost.)

Anyway, it's a good game. Yeah, it's DBZ, but try it out even if you don't like the series.
It can be described as Megaman Battle Network withoutrandom battles. Except it's turn-based. You have a dozen moves (or "cards") to choose between, and each round consists of each character making one attack and one defending move. But these "cards" must be paid for with so-called card points, which are earned by using certain "combo moves" (which also come in the shape of cards, and make you push the right sequense of buttons during a certain amount of time)
To succeed, you have to guess what your opponent is about to do. You suspect he'll use his super mega beam attack of death? Use the "every single beam attack fired against you during the next turn misses" card. But wait- damn, he used a combo card instead, making you waste your valuable protection card. And next turn, he destroys you with his deadly beam.
Yeah, it's a bit annoying at times, but it's really a great game. Also, getting all the cards is way less annoying than getting all the chips in MMBN.

That'd be "Dragon Ball Z: Chou Saiya Densetsu" (or Super Saiyan Legend in english). No, this is completely different. Chou Saiya Densetsu had a system where each card had one attack rank and one defense rank, and you'd choose those with decent ranks. Some of the cards let you use a ki attack instead of attacking normally, these did more damage, but cost ki points (MP) to use. You also had some item cards which changed card ranks, healed characters, upped stats, ect.

Legendary Super Warriors is about countering the cards your opponent use, guessing their moves, choosing whether to use you card point to attack or increase your stats/decrease your opponents. Also, you can move around on the battlefield (choosing to move instead of defending during your defense turn) Moving backwards increases defense but lowers damage dealt, moving fowards does the opposite (so you want to move into the opponents face before using your uber attack of death). You can also move between the air and ground, since physical attacks are more powerful if the guy you hit is standing on the ground, while Ki attacks do more damage to one flying. There's much more strategy involved in this game (and it's much faster than Chou Saiya, which found it nessecary to make the characters pummel each other for 10 seconds each time you made a move)

I've currently made it to the battle between Gohan and Kuririn VS Ginyu-Goku and Jeese. Kuririn is way too weak, and Gohan can't handle both opponents, so I'm kinda stuck.

For the record, here's the battles you have to fight up to this point:
Gohan VS Piccolo
Gohan VS Nappa
Goku VS Vegeta
Gohan VS Vegeta
Gohan or Kuririn VS Ghurt
Gohan or Kuririn VS Rikum
Any two of Goku, Gohan and Kuririn VS Butta and Jeese

I have one of those. None of the built-in games are very good (Well.. Tetris 2 is good fun, and SMB is always there..), but it does play Famicom carts. I picked up Wai Wai World 2 and Adventure Island from eBay. Good, cheap fun.

A lot of games have battles like that. The Dragon Quest and SaGa (Final Fantasy Legend) games, for instance.

Then it's simply a matter of slotting roms into your rom directory, refresh the game list and play.

Yeah,if you want complicated, try Amiga emulation. For games to work, a bunch of stuff must be configurated right, and if you're unfamiliar with Amiga, you won't have any idea what you're doing either.

No, it was taken from a google copy of a thread in some forum, where a guy claimed to have all the PC-98 roms.

There WAS a site where you could download roms, but it's down now.

Even stranger, the door you jump out of at the start of the game. You can enter that room again using some secret way. So, whole level 1 is the "dungeon" you're thrown in? Then why did they left a sword there?

Actually, in the SNES version, the door you enter the level 1 from cannot be re-entered. If we ignore the fact that the entire game is redesigned, the room you start the SNES version in is directly ABOVE the room you originally started in.

Anyway, here's an interesting one. In Ocarina of Time, Link put on Iron Boots so he'll sink to the bottom of whatever body of water he's in. Well, where does he put the boots once he takes them off? He's still carrying them, so he shouldn't get any lighter.

Star Wars had first-person spaceship stages. And they were all hard as hell. That game is mostly platforming, though. There's one spaceship level between Tatooine and the Death Star, and two at the very end.

If by "cheating", you mean understanding how the random battle system wrks, and plan ahead so he didn't get into any ugly battles, then yes, he cheated.

And I remember he used the Bane Sword at Chaos (it has 1/256 chanse of killing those immune to instant death)

I thought Chaos was immune to the Bane Sword as well?

Firing up FFHackster... checking Chaos... yep, resistant to everything, including Bane.

Was the guy playing the WSC or PlayStation ports, or something?

No, it was the NES original. Yes, Chaos is immune to Bane, but there's still 1/256 chanse of it affecting him. It has to do with the coding, and how they used "greater than" instead of "greater than or equal to". Or something. Ask Disch, he knows.

Not yet. It's out in September in Europe and October in US. (Haha, we get it before you. Too bad almost no shops carry games like that.)

I actually bought Mega Man Zero 2 a few days ago. I've already beaten it (the final boss was way too easy), but I'm still missing a bunch of cyber elves, about half the forms, and almost all the EX skills. There's definitly a lot of replay in this cart. It's harder than the first game (which wasn't especcially hard, other than the second boss), sporting some evil level designs and brutal bosses. Still fun, though, unless you're easily frustrated.
