Hello all. Good to see the board's back up, and hopefully everyone will find their way back here.

Man, I need my post layout back. Let me rummage around in my computer to see if I can find it.

This forum looked rather empty, so I decided to throw together a few puzzles:

1) Last week I bought a word processor small enough to fit in my pocket. It can write in any language and also add, multiply, subtract, divide. It has a delete facility that will correct any error made and no electricity or batteries are required to operate it. Amazingly, it only cost me 25 cents. How? [Ultimanium]

2) Divide $162 (in whole $ increments) into a number of bags so that I can ask for any amount between $1 and $162, and you can give me the proper amount by giving me a certain number of these bags without opening them. What is the minimum number of bags you will require, and what are the dollar amounts in those bags? [Kirby all the way]

3) A set of football matches is to be organized in a "round-robin" fashion, i.e., every participating team plays a match against every other team once and only once.

If 21 matches are totally played, how many teams participated?
[Apophis]

Apophis is correct. neo, you forgot that there has to be one more team than the highest number, because teams can't play themselves.

I've seen Hypercube and part of Cube, and I liked what I saw. This prequel interests me... I showed it to my friend who loves Cube, and he flipped out.

No. Bad. Zelda is Action/Adventure. Unless you're talking about Zelda II, in which case, it'd be an Action RPG.

Colleen, Morrowind would be a "PC RPG" for the Xbox, which doesn't quite make sense
Except for the fact that it was released for the computer before it was released for the XBox.

Actually, a bunch of shit gets made because of us blowing each other up. Do you have any idea the kind of stuff we wouldn't have if it weren't for the military?

Also, the Greeks made flamethrowers as well. Damn, they kicked serious amounts of ass.

Went from 354 to 71. That's 283 places. And I don't really care either way.

Posted on 03-18-04 02:13 AM, in Gay Marriage (again) Link
I think marriage needs to be wholly in the field of religion, and civil unions should be the only thing the state recognizes. That way the church could marry straight folk (and perhaps there are some churches that would perform gay marriages, however rare), and both gay and straight couples alike would enter into civil unions and be equal in the eyes of the law.
