Well... Hmmm. The palettes are good, I'll give you that. However.
1. Status bar problem.
2. The happy look on things makes it look pretty poor.
3. There's not really anything outstanding.
4. Mario looks horribly out of place in most of these, especially the lava area. Total style clash.
However. Despite all this stuff, while it could be far better, I must say that your work on it is pretty good. Good job. You greatly exceeded my expectations.
