| Tip of the day: Don't mix Yoshi's Island with Super Mario World. It doesn't work. Even if you adapt the whole YI palette for the foreground and background, you'll have a hellish time editing the enemies so they blend in. Not to mention you'd have to expand the enemy GFX in order to give it the proper look, they wouldn't fit in to the slots they have now. And the castle just isn't anything close to Mario style, it's terrible. Sure, you may have impressed them, but just the same, those people are really, really easy to impress just by editing GFX to ANYTHING. | |||

| Alright. JJ, you need to use brighter colors. Deep colors are rarely seen in Mario games and usually only in castles. Mighty Kefka: Mario games should look like Mario games, or adapt a different style (like Yoshi's Island or Mario Sunshine). If you notice, hackers like to edit foregrounds and backgrounds but hate to edit enemies. This is BAD. Very bad, in fact, as the styles used in the tiles almost always conflict with the styles used in the sprites, which causes it to look terrible in general. |
