| I use batch files to help me synchronized the two different roms that I use to hack Luigi vs Mario. One ROM has only level changes for Mario's side and a few basic ASM changes. The other ROM has Luigi's side of the hack and has all the updated changes. With the use of a batch file, I can move over certain data from Mario's side (map, level, palette, etc) over to the master ROM with Luigi's side. So yes, batch files are useful for backing up ROMs and other things for certain hacking projects. |

| Just wanted people to know that my hack isn't dead! I haven't had much time to work on it lately with school and personal things, but slowly yet surely I'm getting it done. A projected release date is by the end of the year. At a high risk, I will request SERIOUS beta testers. I will only accept a few and they have to be serious! I've asked before and not got the results I wanted so unless you are able to accept constant updates of my hack and play through it and report everything you find, don't bother!! ROMs are illegal, no way around it. You can backup ROMs only for archiving purposes and not personal use. Just like you can't backup your car incase it breaks, you're not supposed to backup your ROM incase your cart breaks, but does it really matter? Keep downloading them ROMs and don't worry about legality issues. |

Well since BMS is dead as far as their sim database goes, I'll be re-doing some of them with better graphics and better stepcharts (not all will change) and better organize my mixes like Hiryuu does. |
DDR Ex2: er well I dunno, this may be the only other home mix I get but I really hope this isn't a flop like Ex1 was. Interestingly enough, Japan's getting a DDR called "DDR Str!ke" (or Strike). Official Extreme machines have decors that says "we're starting over" so could this be the next big DDR we've been waiting for? Honestly, Roxor has mutiliated the 4 panel game and is really only for hardcore players, but I'm sorry, being forced to use the bar is not cool. Maybe Konami will bring it back with something innovative and fresh.

Oh see, a hack like this receives tons-o-ridicule. The kid is trying t5o do something fun and all and gets heat. YET, at the same time, there are people who release hacks worse than this and then asks for people to do some work for them to add to the hack, they get ridiculed and people get all in a hissy fit. |
The way I see it, good for you for doing something on your own. Keep up the work, if people don't like it, you take that as you may. Otherwise keep having fun doing the hacks the way you like 'em.

I like the Uber solution because if it doesn't work, then it can stop all the arguments that are often seen in this forum between the elite and the new comers. If it does work, then it would go to show that good hacks are better made in teams. At any rate, this Uber solution would ultimately prove a point that no one can argue against. |
