Ok, there are different ways to translate a hex number into a letter. The most common way in video games TODAY is using ASCII. ASCII is a table that shows what hex values translate into what characters. It's a simple look up table and there's no trick to remembering it, just have to keep the table in handy, here's a quick one: http://web.cs.mun.ca/~michael/c/ascii-table.html However, OLDER games, such as on the NES, use their own look up tables since some games may not use an entire alphabet or special characters. These are stored in .tbl files. More info can be found here: http://gavin.panicus.org/doc/maketbls.txt There are also other text hacking methods but I do not have any experience in them. |

There's 3 versions of it. One in Mario Adventure, one in Luigi's Coin Quest and the best one is in Luigi vs Mario. You may use it but you'll have to extract it from the rom yourself, I won't just give you my code for it.

Yeah, my P8107 on Challenge is pretty killer. Some of the twists leave you in odd positions, much like a Paranoia stepfile. I never have gotten the end slowdown though. But really, for being over 600 steps, not a Long song and under 200 BPM, it's pretty damn stamina draining.

Radioshack's PSX->USB converter is cheap and no need to import it from some Asian country.

I figured this belonged here since it could spark up serious debate that didn't belong in General. When the tsunami hit in Christmas, the US didn't immediately give a lot of aid and were dogged out by the rest of the world for such a small contribution (at first). However, where's the aid from the rest of the world for Katrina's damage?

The amount of deaths from a disaster has no bearing on the amount of support needed. Move people that live means more people that need support.

I'm currently dating a girl with an appareantly large collection of underwear. She prides herself in what she gets and tells me that she has so much and teases me about it all the time. I was jut wondering if this is female code for something, and if it is, what?

Ah see I would have thought that using my own logic. Another thing about her is that she knows a lot about underwear, like what it means to wear some colors or how to show it off under certain types of clothing, and is even particular about buying her bf's cute boxers. |

She just likes to buy a cute pair for her current bf I guess. At any rate, I take it a good thing that she talks about her panties a lot, I just don't want to think she's giving an invite when she's really not (not necessarily sex, but an invite to take things a bit farther, not that I'd act on such a hint, it would take more). |

Well I'm about to embark on the use of digital camera. That is, use them for my main source of picture keeping, which means I'll need to be developing some. Are these kiosks you see at like Wal-Mart and Walgreens any good? How do they work? I know they only require your memory card, but do you pay at the kiosk, or do you take the pictures to the register and pay there? I really hate trying something new without having any clue as to what I'm doing. |

Sweating is good! Shows you're properly hydrated. Just be sure you continue to drink plenty of water. I don't do work out mode because it doesn't give you a grade, so the fun of it is kind of taken away. Workout mode that still showed your skill performance would rule all! But if you're looking for serious weight loss, have some extra cash and a local DDR machine, then learn to do doubles. Doubles play burns many more calories than singles becuase you're doing actual physical work. Singles is mostly pivetal work and doesn't require near as much energy as doubles. But the downside to doubles is that it's a lot harder to do and costs more, but the pay off is that it attracts a bigger crowd, it actually improves your singles game (endurance increases dramatically) and of course, a better exercise. |

Tennessee has made a huge effort to support hurricane aid. Even middle school kids have started to rally up donations like water, money and fuel to take the water to them. I personally donated 48 bottles of water and am planning to donate again as soon as I get sufficient funds (i.e. pay day). It's great that we live in a country that can support itself, though and doesn't rely on foreign aid. |

If people want to work with a team, they are, but seriously, working in a team is not a charitable job. Most if not all team projects still working have members who exceed in their skill and these people aren't expected to go out and teach everyone else how to do music, graphics or ASM hacking. I say get over it, it's not going to change. Great teams come together on their own, you can't force people to share their knowledge. If all rom hackers shared all their skills with everyone, what then? It wouldn't change a thing, just a lot of bickering and nothing getting done, just like right now.

My girlfriend goes to a class that has her writing a paper that cannot have any form of the word "be" (is, am, were, will, been, being, etc) and I thought that it would entertain us to randomly write posts without the form of "be" in it. The difficulty is shown quickly when you try to write out a normal conversation, but I believe it can really improve someone's writing style. |
