well you'll have to wait! I'm only completed worlds 1 through 4 on Luigi's side. For those that remember the level contest I had a while back, I will soon whip that out and get the voting started because now's the time I'll need level creators with my level work load doubling like this.

There will be 16 different distinct worlds, each with a different set of levels. So lets say there's 80 levels in SMB3, there will be a total of 160 levels in the entire hack when I'm done

Exactly Kario. I meant 160 levels. And to illustrate I mean business, you can See a bad quality movie right here It requires DivX (don't nit pick at my choice of codecs). You'll see only minor changes in the World 1 map and level 1-1 between the two, but that's because in a hurry. I promise, each level will be completely different, as with the map. I just wanted to illustrate that it's realy and working

yah you guys just don't know how excited I am to release this. There's SO many surprises to see in this hack. New enemies, items, gameplay changes that will make you want to play all the way through just to see what's next, and I do it all without making the hack amazingly hard like Mario Adventure did.

I've tested this on all the emulators and it works completely flawless without a hitch. And to make sure that this hack isn't super hard, I'm going to be releasing private RC versions (release candidates) and if anyone finds a level hard, I'll go and modify it to make sure it's easy. I won't let this have the same ill-fate as Mario Adventure.

Oh I'm not going for easy either. Some of the new enemies are really evil in this hack, but they're used sparingly. My approach in this hack is to keep the levels interesting. Each level has you do something different than the previous level, be it a different task, approaching a different enemy or what have you. For those who want it easy, I made a lot of non-linearity in the maps so you can fly through the hack playing minimal amount of the game.

A word of warning though, due to time constraints, I will be porting quite a few levels from my previous hacks for the Mario Quest (don't worry, most will be original still), but they'll be modified from their original versions to include different enemies and get rid of the stupid hard areas, like were present in Mario Adventure.

Oh I'm gonna finish the hack, and it won't be by the end of the summer, but I'll still be porting a few levels here and there because frankly, that's a lot of levels to do and I'll be burned out by the end of the hack if I don't port some levels. I don't want to rush the hack, but at the same time, I don't want to spend another 6 months on it either, I have other priorities coming up and if I don't get the majority of this done now, then it may never get done

Haw, even the title screen kicks freaking ass. BMF did some work and I've taken that and pretty much went nuts with it. He hasn't seen what I'm doing yet, but when he does, I'm sure even he will go "whoa"

yes, the ROM is twice the size of the original ROM and the patch is bigger than the original ROM. All of the free space won't be used, but a lot of it is planned to be. I'm going nuts with all this extra space, though

Not really "long", just extensive. A lot of little things in this hack that I've even forgot that I've done have been put into this that really make you go "whoa". Like all the new enemies, all the new items, and the effects show off in this hack.

Like I bet a lot of people didn't know that the Koopa Kids now have different amounts of health and when you fight one, a health meter is displayed in place of the P-Meter to show their health. Two fireballs to them will take away one heart but on the last heart, fireballs will no longer do any damage so you must stomp them to get rid of them for good.

Things like that all over the hack.

This hack should work 100% perfectly on a real NES cart, unlike Mario Adventure (MA did some illegal sprite operations that would cause IRQ problems).

As for the difficulty, I haven't had any complaints about it yet. I've heard it's harder than SMB3 but not near as hard as Mario Adventure. I will run it through several private releases to a few people and they'll help me decide if certain levels need to be toned down or not.

The Kins: You better believe it! I'm generating lots of hype for this hack because I felt like no matter what I did, Mario Adventure might overshadow what's going on here, but I think the idea of two seperate characters with different paths will put this above Mario Adventure atleast in concept.

That was sarcasm and he did it to prove a point. You can make anything possible on an NES emulator by abusing it's bugs, but that takes the thrill out of ROM Hacking. I personally created Mario Adventure and I made use of an emulator bug, rendering it invalid really and thus I'm a bit ashamed that I let it go like that. Because if you use a custom palette, you may as well do artwork in MS Paint.
