Very nice indeed Hiryuu... personally my accomplishments today were.... Coming 2 away from AA'ing Paranoia Evolution (42 greats, 2 misses, so so close), nearly AA'ing Afronova and FCing Burning Heat! And Hiryuu... I tried =Pain= Marathon Heavy and got my ass chewed and spat out. I got to the "Max 300" portion and just got cremed instantly. Edit: OH! And I can AA Colors Heavy Doubles (edited by DahrkDaiz on 03-15-05 07:52 PM) |

Well I can understand the real-life issues thing, but really, if you took the combined efforts from your past 5 hacks and put that effort towards one hack, you'd have a completed one by now. What you could do, is make 2 worlds be timed based, like Race against time, then switch things up in the next two worlds, thus you wouldn't feel like you're working on the same hack. I constantly add new ASM hacks to my hack so I have an incentive to do a new level. |

Ok I got 2 files to release today. I have 2 others done, but no graphics for them yet (it took me an hour just to get the background and banner from Forza Azzurri > ). Anyways... Carnival Night - Full Zone Mix This is a bit of Goldwave work that combines the Act 1 and Act 2 mixes of Carnival Night Zone's music. The variations between the two are slight, but it's enough to justify a change in steps when one switches to the other mix. Light - 3 Standard - 5 Heavy - 6 Oni - 8 Not terribly hard, though, it's not really a song with a complicated rhythm. Forza Azzurri by Cranky. Light - 6 Standard - 7 Heavy - 9 The predict meter gives 5, 6 and 8, but light has a 300+ full combo and heavy's is 500+ so I had to kick it up a step because of the stamina required. Not crazy hard, definitely paddable, and probably a good stamina drainer at that. (edited by DahrkDaiz on 03-16-05 08:50 PM) (edited by Colleen on 03-16-05 09:43 PM) |

oh yeah? I can pull off a 226 combo in the first parts of Sync on STEALTH (no arrows shown). Just need a bit more practice and I'll be able to do the entire song on stealth while doing freestyle spins

Wow there's a generalized question if I ever saw one: Please be more specific! First if you need to say if it's for PC or for a video game console. If it's for a PC then you're in the wrong place. If it's for a console, you better off going to homebrew forums for said system, though we can help you go start in the right direction, most of us here just ROM hack, with a few exceptions. And rather than ask "where can I go", you need to be asking "what do I need" to build a game from scratch. |

Well really I'd have to say Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but since you don't list that as an option, I'll go with S&K since that's really what's needed for S3&K anyways.

I just beat KH and I'm going nuts over wanting the next one. My theory is that Spoiler: each of the hooded figures is an alternate "existance" of a character (look at Kairi at the end of Another Side, Another Story, the "Kairi" we see has different colored hair. Plus, there's a kid in the KH2 trailer on top of the tower that looks amazingly like Sora from the back, minus the spikey hair, more "alternate" characters?), such as Riku and Mickey, and that one of the Riku's is still possessed by Ansem and seeks to unravel the walls that seperates realities, rather than just worlds this time. To do this, he must tap into a higher power than the Heartless: the Endless. Those who don't end and never existed. I gather all of this from the Deep Dive secret ending of KH:FM A bit far out there, but I think it's plausible. Just 5 more months. I can't wait til they release more info. I'm not sure whether to take you seriously or not, but seeing how N64 hacking is no where near the level of NES/SNES/GB hacking, I will just tell you right now, go back to an earlier generation console, get some experience in hacking those then come back and see us. Until then, this thread is closed.

Here's a hack I'm sure many will want to use: This hack replaces cherries with coins, just like in most SMB games. 100 coins will give you a 1-Up, the amount of coins you currently have is displayed on the pause screen and the number of coins isn't reset when you beat a level or die. Note: these coins are not related in anyway to your game coins, those are still seperated for the bonus level. The IPS patch can be found here Here's some screenshots: And here's the documentation (edited by DahrkDaiz on 03-24-05 07:07 PM) (edited by DahrkDaiz on 03-24-05 07:08 PM) |

Or you could use examples of the 1,000s of SMW hacks that already do what you shouldn't do

That's easy, the pallete is equal to the upper two bits of the id number. In other words, tile ids 00-3F use pallete 0, 40-7F use pallete 1, 80-BF use 2 and C0-FF use 3

Trust me, I can't stand turned based RPGs. The only one I ever even game a decent chance was the Pokemon series. I was reluctant to play Kingdom Hearts myself: I mean Square and Disney = menu based kiddy fest, right? Boy was I ever wrong... Basically imagine Zelda Ocarina of Time + 12,000x more action, 12,000x better story and about 600x more fun. This is the first game I ever actually played through the levels JUST to see the next part of the story and I had fun doing it. Oh and last I checked (yesterday) at Electronics Boutique, they're selling used PS2's for $120 a pop and Kingdom hearts BRAND NEW for $20. Of course you need that blasted memory card too, so that's another $30... But if KH is one of the games you really wanted, then you'll definitely want KH2. neotransotaku: yes, you have a very long ways to go. Very very long. Not to mention, if you want to complete it 100%, you have even longer to go lol. Just get through the next couple of levels and things get really fun, especially in Hollow Bastion. |

Want to talk about pain? I was doing some non-stop courses. I did one that had Holic, Kind Lady, Ecstacy and Matsuri Japan. Not too bad, nearly AA'd the entire course (2 boos, 2 misses, 2 goods 150 greats ) So anyways, 3 games later (other players) I do non-stop again: this time a bit tougher, Freckles, Jane Jana, A, Sync. IMMEDIATELY after that, I played again... and this was accidentally chosen: So Deep Daikenkai Can't Stop Fallin' in Love (Speed Mix) AM-3P I passed it... barely and my legs went numb during AM-3P. Surprisingly, I got all the up up up up/down down down sequences in CSFILSM. |

Red light sabers Sion what crack were you on when you watched this? http://www.kingdomhearts2.net/downloads/index.shtml There's the movie (the movie is called Deep Dive) The Unknown use the Obvlivion and Oathkeeper. The blind folded one looks and is undoubtedly Riku. First thing I thought after seeing this was the "Burly Brawl" in Matrix 2. Be sure to try to catch some of the text which can be found here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/kingdom_hearts_final_mix_changes.txt (got to the deep dive section, he lists all the quotes so you don't have to pause and strain your eyes) |
