Of course I voted DDR. I love the CV series and all, but DDR has the greatest amount of replay value (been playing for 7 months straight now, if that's any indication ).

Thank you!

I'm voting for Kerry not because I like him but because he can't be any worse than Bush at this point and time. I don't like either but like Legion said, voting for someone else is wasting a vote. Know why Al Gore didn't win the 2000 election? Too many Nader votes. Granted if Nader gets so many votes, he can get more funding for the next campaign, but this country is in such a shit hole at the moment that I believe our priority should be, like said before, a radical change.

Bush keeps feeding us bullshit like the economy is up, the world is safer, and all this junk. We've got more government than ever before and our friggin budget is awful. What happened to all that money we had in the treasury when Clinton left office?! We could have done great things with that, but what happens to it? We send it back to the people who need it the least. No offense to those that got the tax rebate, but it was totally unnecessary.

And this basic lockdown on America, giving the FBI the legality to tap anybody's phones with the Patriot Act and the high ass security found on air liners and anywhere else. The way I see it: It wasn't that we didn't have enough security, I think the old forms were just fine, they just weren't properly executed by the right people. Rather than increase it, we should have reformed it and find out WHY it didn't work. A quote comes to mind on this: "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security" - Benjamin Franklin. And that rings so true today.

Bush has got to go...

bbit makes this seem so non-chalant but really, this utility will revolutionize the ASM hacking community for NES hackers.

I was able to do more in a month to SMB3 (which you saw in the Coin Quest demo earlier) with this thing than 6 months spent on Mario Adventure. Once this thing is complete, you won't need any other utility for ASM hacking NES games.

Not only that, I'm sure this would immensely help any budding ASM hacker as it's robust tools will aid in learning ASM, as well as hacking it since it provides so many conveniences.

I won't go into detail on how this will be accomplish, this IS bbit's thread and utility, but take it from me, I've used this baby and still do, it's amazing with this guy has done to a previously simple utility.

There's another guy that she wants to try out but if she was to do that, then she and the new guy might not make it and she would want to come back running to you, i.e. she doesn't want to be end up being alone in the end, she wants to come out on top when she takes that risk of going after another guy...

This is how I interpret it atleast (and it seems very common when this sort of thing happens).

C2 totally kicks ass for a "light" soda, but it's horribly expensive as an 8 pack. It has a lighter taste than Coca Cola without that after taste. I totally dig the stuff.

I assume a lot of you people are thinking "o bother...", but this is serious!

Teen Titans has a layer of humor that grows on you. Disch and I have a blast watching it on TV and randomly throwing quotes at each other like "Robin, who is this girl and why does she call you poo?" XD

Does anyone else totally see the humor in this show?

Not only that, Slade (the main villian) is a real pedophilic bastard who manipulates little girls with super powers. Real creepy shit.

That's the cool stuff about this, it doesn't have to be in 1 sitting. I think from what bbit has told me, you could have several people play it and combine the logs. You could easily make a demo for a hack by just playing certain parts of a game. You could also find data for this by doing everything in a game, like playing all levels except for 1 of them, then seeing what data wasn't logged to find it. It's very cool stuff.

I agree with Frank, the screenshot looks like crap. The font is awful and the palettes are very ugly. The standard SMB3->SMB1 gfx switches are so cliche now and are getting boring now. I haven't played it, but the screenshot makes me not want to...

I say, learn from this and try a different approach with your next project.

ROMs are illegal to have on your computer whether it be downloaded or copied yourself and that's the bottom line. Modifying copywritten material, however, is still kind of in the grey area: look at music remixers. Distributing an IPS patch that modifies a ROM seems perfectly legal at this point, else Nintendo would have shut thus place down long ago.

As for your problem: do you have any objects that extend to the ground? If so, is there a ground under them? (the normal ground, not just any object).

We are not crazy!

As for people being rude and saying your hacks suck: some of us aren't going to sugar coat what we think of bad projects. I think it's bad to encourage poor hack development, but everyone has to start somewhere, as long as progression is made as time goes on, you should be fine, but if a few people tell you your hacks blow, don't ignore them, pay attention to what they say and try to improve the areas you're weakest in (unless what they say is complete bull).

Of course, this is all assuming you care what people think of your hack, otherwise what would be the point of releasing a hack publicly

Get a DDR pad, USB-PSX converter (compatible) and go download Stepmania and then use the unspent extra cash to go partying on the weekend. As for the other games... once you played one wrestling game, you pretty much played them all (most of the time)... As for GTA, if there's version for the PC, then pirate, pirate, pirate!

First of all, you're basing all of your arguments that on the fact that the Bible is completely true, and there's no undeniable proof that shows the Bible is entirely true, thus, it cannot be used as a scientific reference...

Next, the Big Bang Theory is just that... a THEORY... It has never been proven false nor true, so you can't just stand up and say "OMG IT'S FALSE CUZ TEH BIBLE SAYS SO", there are two conflicting stories about the creation of the universe in the Bible and the Big Bang Theory. Just remember, things are theories for a reason...

Where do you get the idea the earth is spinning more slowly? I've never read anything about any planets that spin slower over time. As a star dies, it's gravitation force will become stronger because it's mass increases due to fusion reactions (something like that) and thus, if anything, planets spin FASTER...

Oldest tree is 4300... but remember, there is about 150,000,000 square km of earth, so there's a LOT of searching to do, not to mention, as things decomposed, they get reused and no longer will represent what their original form was, thus just because an older tree hasn't been found, doesn't mean it never existed...

Where do you get the idea that the moon gets farther and farther away from Earth? Same idea with gravity... it's a force that pulls an object to it's center of mass, if anything, the moon is getting closer...

Evolution is change over time due to some stimulus. If there's no stimulus to trigger a change, then there won't be a change. If giraffes never had to reach for higher food, they'd never would have gotten longer necks (do to evolution theory). If Eskimos didn't live in the arctic, they wouldn't have thick skin. Thus it's true that something left alone will deteriorate (due to radiactive decay), it doesn't prove evolution is right or wrong...

IF the Bible were true, 8 living people doesn't mean anything when it comes to population growth. You must factor in disease, wars, droughts, famine, infertility and the like. Population growth isn't a linear factor (and not necessarily logarithmic either).

Being a veteran SMB3 hacker, I tried the editor and I like it a lot. It's easy to change objects quickly and the switch from editing level objects and enemy object is awesome (left and right mouse click).

The ability to resize a window and zoom in and out is a huge convenience and having 2 editors opened at once (so you can easily figure out what pointer will point to where) is also a nice plus, couldn't do that with m3i. Once free form gets in, I'll be hacking Coin Quest again with this baby. Good job thus far hukka

I looked in Metroid Fusion and confirmed that the rom of Metroid.nes is indeed in Metroid Fusion, but not in the same form. It's got some extra bytes, probably denoting a break in the code which the emulator should stop loading code or something, but the ROM is in there in it's full form. If the same emulator is used in MF as it is in these classic series, then they have the original roms in them, but applying patches for .nes files won't work for the .gba counter parts because of the rom differences (the extra bytes) and some code is modified to save high scores, Im sure.

Posted on 09-05-04 07:18 AM, in Popular Vote or Electoral College? Link
The Electoral vote was designed to basically dilute any votes made by men that didn't matter (i.e. those who didn't understand politics, illiterate, etc) and it made small errors mean nothing (i.e. if someone won in a majority in 1 state, a few miscounted votes in that state wouldn't matter, even if the popular vote was close). But that was before we had the technology and the people to keep track of these votes. Last year was the first year the winner of the popular vote didn't win the electoral vote, I think this means it's time for a change in voting methods.
