Easiest: Pretty much any nes game having to do with mario I would have to say SMB3 would be the easiest.

Hardest: I haven't really played any games that were hard, but if I were to chose one, I would go with Silent Hill 3. Its probably the hardest game I have, and it still isn't really that hard.

Ha, I changed all the bootscreens at my school last year to that. Not that many people saw it considering people didn't reboot very often. I currently just have the words:

Shut Down
Please Wait...
Stand By

In big 3-D letters assigned to their respective screens. I am running WIN98 here so only limited to 16 colours

Welcome to my Shell Oil thread. The reason its a shell oil thread, is because if you put in 71077342 in a calculator and turn it upside down, you reveal the word, Shell Oil. So lets just see if anyone finds this thread...

I think a search function would be great. It would just search the site (maby with an advanced option to search only certain fourms etc.) for a word or set of words. So you could search "Ranma scheme" for example and it would pop up with Trapster's post above. Just a thought. Sort of like a mini google that only searches this board.

Taken from the Newbie FAQ made be smallhacker in the SMW Hacking fourm:

EASTER EGGS
-----------

Q) What's an easter egg?
A) An easter egg could be a hidden text, a hidden function, a hidden movie or something. Something hidden and secret.

Q) How do I edit the title screen?
A) Close Lunar Magic. Open it again and load a ROM. STOP! Don't do anything after that! Now, instead of start editing, type "Chelsea" without the "s. (Note that it's case sensitive.) The status bar should now say "Chelsea is *really* cute". Now, open the Overworld editor. Click on File > Chelsea's Bonus Menu > Load Title Screen. Now, edit it and save.

Q) How do I edit the credits?
A) Same as above, but choose "Load Credits" instead.

Q) How do I edit the title screen demo?
A) First, open level C7. That's the title screen level. Make it look like you want it to. Now, save a copy of the level to a level that can be accessed from the overworld. Open the overworld editor and change the first level in the game to the level you just saved. Save and close down LM. Open it again and enter the Chelsea easter egg mentioned above. Go to the overworld editor and click CTRL+P. An ASM hack should now be installed to the ROM. Open Zsnes (Yes, Zsnes. No other emulator will work) and load your ROM in it. Play the title screen level and move like you want Mario to move in the demo. When you're finished, press ESC and make a save state. Quit Zsnes and go back to LM again. (If you closed it, you have to enter the Chelsea easter egg again.) Go to the overworld editor and click CTRL+R. When you are asked for it, find the save state you made and double click on it. Don't close LM unless you would like to enter the easter egg again later. Load the game and see if the movie looks right. If it doesn't, start the game and record a new one. If it's OK, go back to the overworld editor and press CTRL+U to uninstall the ASM. (This is very important.) There you go! A new demo movie!

Q) How do I lock the ROM?
A) WARNING: Make a backup copy of the ROM before you lock it! Close Lunar Magic. Open it again and load a ROM and open the Overworld Editor. STOP! Don't do anything after that! Now, instead of start editing, type "ChibiMoon" without the "s. (Note that it's case sensitive.) The status bar should now say "ChibiMoon is cute!". Now, go back to the level editor and press CTRL+E. A window should pop up. Enter the name of the game (not more than 21 characters) and press OK.

Q) Where do I enter the Chelsea and ChibiMoon codes?
A) Directly into the window. There won't be any textbox or anything.

And tell him that any questions regarding LM should be posted in the SMW hacking fourm. Hope this helps

Posted on 01-23-05 08:00 AM, in Formats the PS2 can read? Link
I found a video on the net that I D/L'ed, and I wanted to burn for play on my PS2. I only have regular CD discs, and a CD-burner, so I wanted to know if its possible to burn the disc in a format the PS2 can read. Currently, the movie is in .avi format. Any help at all would be great.

Still frames are easy as pie to do in PS. However, I have no clue how you changed animated gif colours. So that part is very cool IMO, only because I have no clue how to do it. Do one of those programs you mentioned allow you to open and edited animated gifs?

I read the PM uly, and I thought you were changing them without doing each individual frame. I know how to extract the frames (I use Irfanview) and colour them (PS), but I wanted a program that would open the file while it was still moving and color it while it was still moving. Your method is good to.

Posted on 01-24-05 08:01 AM, in Edit Layout Problem Link
I am trying to edit my layout, but when I post the URL of the image I want in the BG in the "Post background" section, it doesn't work.

Here is the URL: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v326/keikonium/Forest.png

The only way I can get it to work is by putting everthing in the "Post Header" section. Does it matter what section I put it in?

Like:

- Canadian History - Very easy, and the teachers great. We seem to talk about Germany and the US more than canada tho (even tho were done WW2)

- Science - Easy. And I like chemistry because we use magnesium(sp?) and burn all sorts of stuff...

- Math - NOT High school math tho. When I was in grade 8 it was awesome, but in high school you have to find the answer a certain way, and thats not how I do it

- Computers - We learned all sorts of stuff. Not any C, mainly javascript and HTML. My teacher acted like he knew everything, but could rarly correctly answer students questions.

Hate:

- English - English sucks. I can't spell well (as you can tell from my posts) and reading is boring. I do good in the class, but it still sucks. My grammar sucks too.

- Civics - Hate the teacher. Boring class too.

- Gym - Im not athletic. I still do good tho.

- Religion - uh, SO boring.

Posted on 01-26-05 07:58 AM, in 4 Questions I need to ask.... please don't get Mad Link
2. For the SMW title screen, it only uses 4 colours. The title screen for SMAS, SMB1 uses 16 colours (maby a bit more or less). So if your going for the SMB1 look, use the graphics from the NES.

OR

You can do what I did and use the BG (or FG) for your title. Just have it so the screen is just your title and not a demo of mario in a level. See BMF's hack if you want a really good example. This way you can have 16 or more colors for your title screen and not only 4.

To do this, just open up the title screen level (I think its like 1c5 or 1c7, cant be sure tho) and make your title screen like you would any other level. Just contain mario in a box or something off screen. Im sure you can figure it out.

Hope that helps. Not sure if thats exactly what you were looking for, but this is an option.

I loved turing. I tried to steal it from class one day on a floppy, but when I got it home it said something about school regestration, and me not being able to use it here. We did have to make a race car program with "if" functions and all that stuff. Fun stuff.

Mainly all we did in that class was those aweful TYPING TESTS(!!!!!). God I hated those... and worked on word, excel, frontpage, mainly Microsoft Office. We had to create a web page, and do a project on what the advantages/disadvantages of file sharing was. Easy class...and we got to listen to music if we brought in CD's (we played them on the computer).

Oh, and geography was fun. My teacher was a bit of a pervert (to the girls), but other than that he was cool. I still hate french even tho I got a 97 in that class. It was boring.
